High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1687: Chapter 431 Behind the Door

”Wow!”

”Is this a scroll blessed by a Legendary Wizard?”

”Every spell on it is filled with visible vitality. If a wizard with sufficient magic power uses it, they can return to the school with a single ’Random Door’!”

Buji Island, Beta Town, San You Bookstore, on the tea table.

The Yellow Flowered Cat had half its head stuck in the tea bowl, looking at the reflection in the tea water, clicking its tongue in admiration: ”... Have the kids nowadays become so audacious? To casually carry a Legendary Level scroll on an adventure!”

”It’s not the kids who are audacious, nor any wizard family, but an elder’s care for a younger one,” Mr. Wu leaned back on the chair, making himself more comfortable, and slowly answered:

”As for wanting to use that scroll to return to school, it’s highly unlikely... On one hand, Student Jiang Yu’s magic reserves are insufficient. If she had a forbidden curse seed, maybe there’d be a chance; on the other hand, to prepare for this great battle, the school has put a thick shackle on the entire Black Prison World. There’s no way to escape the Black Prison using a similar scroll before the war ends.”

”So?” The Yellow Flowered Cat raised its head from the tea bowl, glanced at the shopkeeper, its pupils narrowing into a line, ”You can still fish Zheng out from there, can’t you?”

”Fishing him out is certainly possible, but are you sure you want to do that?” Mr. Wu folded his hands, seeming to change his previous decision, and slowly countered, ”Do you remember Zheng Qing’s convergence principle for the forbidden curse seed?”

The Yellow Flowered Cat remained silent for a while.

”Order.” It finally replied stiffly.

”Correct.” Mr. Wu slightly raised his eyelids, his gaze slanting on the tea water surface, he softly said, ”Wildfire burns away the weeds, floods destroy the world... then spring arrives, order can be reestablished.”

”And what place provides more nourishment for ’Order’ than a chaotic Black Prison World?”

”Nourishment is always there,” the Yellow Flowered Cat shook its head, denying Mr. Wu’s answer, ”That’s not the fundamental reason for vetoing your previous plan.”

”Indeed, it’s just part of the reason.”

”What’s the other part then?”

”They injured two Earth Dragons... And in the current Black Prison World, Earth Dragons which can organize earthy energy and regulate magic power are the ’main characters’ under the protection of the world’s will, favored by heaven’s intent. Hurting them is equivalent to hurting the world.”

”Of course, since the degree of damage they inflicted is very low, like stepping on someone’s foot while walking down the street... most likely they’re just cursed twice by the pedestrians. A world’s curse is heaven’s wrath.”

Saying this, Mr. Wu sighed heavily, ”Carrying back the heaven’s wrath of the Black Prison World isn’t a good idea... if you hadn’t been so curious about that Color of Star earlier, you wouldn’t have these subsequent troubles.”

”Why is it my fault again?!” The Yellow Flowered Cat’s tail stood up in anger.

...

...

Black Prison World.

A region surrounded by Earth Dragons.

On the protruding rock.

”Can we really go anywhere?”

The witch looked at The Door God, then lowered her head to look at the Black Cat, somewhat uncertainly asked, ”Can we go to the First University? We want to return to the First University.”

The Door God rolled its eyes in annoyance.

”The cat’s brain is the size of a walnut, you’re a wizard, do you only have that small brain too?” As a magical life, The Door God’s level of taunting was no worse than the editors of the ”Beta Town Post”: ”Please, this is just a random teleportation scroll, not Aladdin’s Lamp... why don’t you wish to go to heaven!”

Zheng Qing forcefully restrained himself from asking questions like ’Does heaven really exist?’

Compared to him, the Black Cat was much more aggressive.

”Do you want to die?!”

The Black Cat glared with its blood-red eyes, let out a howl, and extended a paw over The Door God’s face. But its paw seemed to swipe over a holographic projection, the golden-framed small door swayed like water ripples, yet The Door God suffered no harm.

”So, saying your brain is the size of a walnut isn’t an exaggeration at all.” The Door God changed the direction of the lance in its arms, but its face still bore no change in the mocking expression, ”I’m just a shadow embedded in the spell, you...”

The voice stopped abruptly.

Because the Black Cat’s next paw had already pressed on The Door God’s shoulder, the sharpness between its claw seams glistened chillingly in the sunlight, a trace of blood was slowly flowing down The Door God’s cheek.

Zheng Qing offered silent condolences for this mouthy Door God for a few seconds.

It should have understood the nature of the Black Cat before starting its big taunting technique.

”Shadow?”

The Black Cat showed a malicious smile, its dark red eyes sparkled, like a cat teasing a mouse: ”I’ve killed more shadows than you’ve ever seen in your life... I’ll give you a chance to write a will for your master.”

The Door God’s expression went from shock, to ugly, and finally to fawning, the entire process took less than three seconds, the degree of distortion left the two young wizards awestruck.

”Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap!”

It dropped the lance it held, without hesitation slapped its own mouth several times, the golden-framed door flickered violently, then it knelt down, hugging the Black Cat’s paw, crying bitterly: ”Spare me, my lord! Spare me! I have an eighty-year-old mother and a three-year-old child, all depending on me to live...”

Zheng Qing couldn’t help but turn his head, feeling an urge to cover his ears.

”Isn’t it a magical life? How can it have a fear of death?” Zhu Si’s head popped out from Jiang Yu’s shoulder, full of curiosity: ”Also, do magical lives have a mother and children?”

”If you take it seriously, you’ve lost.” Zheng Qing recalled the stick figure behind the classroom door at school, sighed, reached out to tug on the long fur at the Black Cat’s neck: ”Bullying a spell is meaningless... Let’s not drag on, let’s leave here quickly.”

The Black Cat snorted, moved its paw off The Door God’s shoulder.

The Door God knelt forward a few steps, rubbed its hands, looked at Jiang Yu, and asked fawningly: ”So this lady, where would you like to go? As long as it’s within the range of this world, there won’t be any problem.”

The witch heard this and exchanged glances with Zheng Qing.

”To the Black Prison Castle!” Zheng Qing decisively said.

The Door God continued looking at the witch.

”Just to the Black Prison Castle,” Jiang Yu said, then abruptly seemed to remember something, quickly added: ”... to the safest place in the Black Prison Castle now.”

Zheng Qing nodded repeatedly, feeling a bit fearful—had this guy harbored ill intentions and threw the group into the most intense battlefield of the Black Prison Castle, that would have been deadly.

After hearing the witch’s request, The Door God held up the lance, closed its eyes and silently for a few seconds, the golden border of the door frame suddenly flashed brightly, like the midday sun, blindingly.

When Zheng Qing came back to his senses, The Door God and the small door were already gone, leaving only an open door frame.

Inside the door frame was a mass of darkness, like a quagmire, swallowing even the light.
