High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1674: Chapter 418: Five Elements Inverted

A series of willow branches, like rope bridges, connected the ancient castle’s ramparts with the green ocean below.

Demons roared, laughed wildly, and howled as they charged along the paths opened by the willow rope bridges, launching themselves at the defensive magic array of the Black Prison Castle.

Spells exploded like fireworks, blossoming with bright colors between the verdant and white mist.

The keiform flight land was covered with the air roots and branches of the Great Willow Tree, and as far as the eye could see, it was lush and green. The wizards on the city walls seemed as if they were back on Buji Island, gazing out from the school’s tower towards the Silent Forest.

Above the flight land, the white mist gradually dissipated, and the Iceberg stood tall amidst a sea of trees, resembling an island in the sea; the remaining three large ships faced in three directions, floating above the countless swaying willow branches, as if anchored in a green ocean.

Black Prison Castle, inner fortress.

Ramparts.

Vice Principal Shi Hui squinted her eyes, looked up at the bright sky, and softly said:

”They raised a sun, changing the sky.”

”Then planted a willow tree, changing the land.”

”Must we wait until they truly enchant people’s hearts before we consider changing our response?”

As she spoke, the witch took a step forward, facing the green sea and mist below the walls, her voice still light, but her tone became unusually firm: ”Heaven timing, geographical advantage, unity... even if all are taken by them, it doesn’t matter... but if our spirits are captured, that is absolutely unacceptable!”

Vice Principal Ruoyu stood behind her, sighed slightly but did not stop the witch’s actions.

”Always thinking that holding the advantage allows for control over everything!”

”That’s not confidence... it’s arrogance!”

The witch raised her arm, and from her fingers emerged those slender vines again. These vines were covered with flame-shaped buds, metallic-hued leaves, and white mist entwined between the buds and leaves.

Then she spread her five fingers, aiming at the willow branches that were crazily spreading towards the walls and in all directions, at the large tree at the end of the willow branches, and the iceberg standing between the two.

”Five Elements... Inverted!”

”Universe... Reversed!”

The witch said in a low voice, her five fingers suddenly clenching tight, the slender vines, flame-shaped buds, metallic leaves, and white mist between her fingers all abruptly dispersed.

The entire spacetime associated with the keiform flight land froze for a moment.

The next second, when time began to flow again, the lush Great Willow Tree had transformed into a tree engulfed in flames; the lush sea of trees had also turned into a burning expanse; the iceberg standing amidst the forest vanished, replaced by a stone mountain, with a gigantic white bear hanging upside down at the stone mountain’s bottom, looking around bewildered.

The stone mountain floated in mid-air, while the other three big demon ships fell into the sea of flames below, with many demons climbing along the willow branches to the surrounding walls unable to escape and screaming as they were burned by the flames.

The deputy headmaster of First University nudged her glasses and seemed to mutter something quietly.

Behind her came Elder Ruoyu’s thoughtful voice: ”...Is this your new spell? It looks quite interesting...”

The witch tilted her head, glanced at the old man: ”Rare chance to experiment with spells freely without listening to the nagging of those old men in the Alliance or writing a foot-thick environmental report... Naturally, I have to use this interesting one.”

Elder Ruoyu nodded: ”The transformation of the Five Elements is incomplete... it seems this spell has room for improvement.”

The witch pouted, responded lazily: ”A spell that doesn’t need improvement, is it fun to use?”

In stark contrast to the legendary wizards’ casual demeanor, the four big sea monsters and several great wizard demons who had intruded into the Black Prison Castle felt far from pleasant.

”Hey, hey, isn’t this too unfair?”

Mist Captain took a small step back, aligning with the two great wizard demons behind him, then paused, glanced at the raging flames outside the ship’s railing, and couldn’t help but take another small step back, hiding behind the two great wizard demons, seemingly feeling a touch of security this way.

The two great wizard demons—Watcher Gustav Duran and Mark Brigette, the Time Usurper—both maintained grim expressions, seemingly oblivious to their ally’s distress.

Mist Captain spread his hands wide, showing none of the authority or composure he displayed before crew members, his expression and movements slightly exaggerated: ”We on this side only have a Dark Beast and a Kotos Giant... how can the school allow you to make a move directly? This is bullying, isn’t it.”

Vice Principal Shi Hui looked coldly at Mist Captain, then took another step forward, crossing the wall, and instantly appeared in front of the Mist Ship’s figurehead, just a step away from Mist Captain and his allies.

The figurehead forgot to breathe in surprise—it seemed to see new achievements beckoning her, her snaky hair was less than a meter from the First University’s vice principal, just needing to whip a strand of hair forward to bite, and she could become a legend among the Mist Ship, even the entire sea demon, even all demons!

But this thought vanished quickly from its mind, though the master was desperately commanding, those snake-heads were wise enough to avoid danger, even if their master commanded desperately, the snaky hair remained like boneless soft ropes, unwilling to even sway a bit.

Like the cautious snake-heads.

The three top great wizard demons also stood rigidly still, afraid that any small move might be displeasing and they might be slapped to death by the vice principal.

”Bullying?”

Lady Shi Hui sneered, her fingers moved slightly, and a number of slender yet glowing vines suddenly shot out from the void, intending to bind several great wizard demons:

”You need to be human first to talk about ’bullying’... Unfortunately, you’re not.”

...

...

As the battle in front of the inner fortress began.

Outside the inner fortress.

In other corners of the battlefield, the wizards and demons also engaged in battle almost simultaneously.

But alongside Vice Principal Shi Hui, the four school deans who appeared to surround the large demon ship were not taking action, nor were the nine great wizards on the frontlines close to the demons.

Instead, it was the upper house members from the Moon Council on the highest tower of the outer fortress.

”Boom!”

A tall figure leaped out from the tower, descended heavily, and landed with a thud before the Hell Formula, like a cannonball crashing, blasting apart the prisoners, insect monsters, and spirits who were gathering in preparation to assault the defensive magic array.

Broken limbs, shattered bones, and flying gravel surged in all directions like tides, as if a boulder had plunged into a lake, with rippling magical fluctuations spreading outwards in a ring, immediately attracting dozens of powerful gazes on the battlefield.

The tall figure rose slowly, tore off the cloak waving behind him, threw it at his feet, revealing his bronze skin and bulky, muscular build.

Then he grinned, revealing sharp, pallid fangs.

Upper House Member, Zombie Clan, Gongsun Bing.

Enters the scene.
