Chapter 1623: Chapter 367 You Are Acting Strange

”You felt it too, right.”

The Old Witch Demon chuckled hoarsely, the voice drifting like a specter: ”The Magic Power inside you, every moment, every second, is being absorbed by this world... It’s slipping away from beneath your feet, dissipating with your breath, and slowly evaporating through every hair on your skin.”

”I don’t know if this is the effect of the magic circle those First University scoundrels set up, or if this world has undergone some strange mutation, but I know that in this world, the more Magic Power we use, the less we have.”

”The Black Prison World is like a desperately hungry oil press, squeezing every bit of Magic Power from our bodies.”

”Aside from consuming the corpses of our kind to barely replenish some loss, we can only strive to squeeze the limits of our bodies, scavenging for the faint Magic Power in every cell and every nerve gap... So you’ve seen, the consequence of a lack of Magic Power makes us all look like this.”

”You must learn to walk on all fours to reduce the pressure on the ground from your lower limbs... Because the greater the pressure you exert on the ground, the stronger the ground’s suction to devour Magic Power.”

”You must shed every hair on your body, reduce your breathing frequency, and decrease the rate of Magic Power evaporation.”

”You also need to learn how to extract that limited Magic Power from every cell.”

”Of course, if you can drink the magma underground and eat the thunder in the thick clouds overhead like those Great Demons, you might not suffer Magic Power deficiency... But by then, other shackles set by the Wizards will restrain you.”

”Why warn me?”

Zheng Qing dimmed the power of the illumination spell, maintaining only a small area of faint light. Meanwhile, he discreetly took out several Gan Lin talismans and applied them to himself, treating the injuries caused by the recent landing.

In the darkness, perhaps the Demons saw the Warlock’s little movement, but they didn’t stop him at all, only several pairs of scarlet eyes approached him again, greedily eyeing the dead corpse beneath the Warlock.

Many malicious glances assessed the Warlock holding the Charm Gun.

”Why? Naturally, to survive.”

The voice of the Old Witch Demon sounded not far from Zheng Qing: ”Because you are a Witch Demon... and I am also a Witch Demon. In this cold world, having the same stance makes sticking together the best choice.”

”If you want to survive, don’t waste Magic Power like this... We are not them, we don’t have sharp fangs and claws, nor do we have coarse intestines like they can convert magma... Magic Power and spells are our only weapons.”

In the dark night, whispers from other Demons faintly came, their scarlet eyes flickering, hesitating between Zheng Qing and the Old Witch Demon, filled with malice.

Zheng Qing easily discerned the implied meaning in the Old Witch Demon’s words; two Witch Demons could survive better in the Black Prison than one. But he doubted whether this Old Witch Demon genuinely spoke from a kinship or a quest for an ally. It must have other motives.

”This wolf is yours.”

The Warlock slowly stood up, with a dozen mushroom creatures, retreated and left behind the dead Wolf Demon and the bloodied corpse beneath the Wolf Demon, now unrecognizable.

Blood dripped from the hem of his robe, falling into the gravel, soon seeping into the depths of the dry land, leaving not even a shadow.

The slightly cold moonlight seemed like the Warlock’s shadow, retreating along with him.

Once the last hint of pale white disappeared from the Wolf Demon’s corpse, in the darkness, it was as if an inaudible command was issued, dozens of scarlet points pounced corporately on those two corpses, and immediately, a rustling sound echoed in the silence.

Not a single trace of blood was emitted.

But Zheng Qing seemed to see through the dense night, the prisoners in the Black Prison were pouncing on the corpses, gnawing at every scrap of flesh they could grab, licking every drop of blood they could smell, even the soil stained with blood was swallowed by them without a bit of waste.

Zheng Qing’s gaze flickered, falling on the Luminescent Mushrooms at his feet, his mind stirred, disengaging the Magic Power links attached to several mushroom bodies.

The state of these fungi plants corroborated the Old Witch Demon’s words to some extent.

Once deprived of Zheng Qing’s Magic Power support, many mushroom creatures withered immediately, only a few remained, struggling under the waning moonlight.

Zheng Qing reached out and picked up a dead mushroom.

Indeed, the dried mushroom had no Magic Power left, just like the Old Witch Demon said, this damn world constantly draws on the Magic Power emitted by life. Although the intensity of siphoning is small, the quantity absorbed is little, if it continues, the consequences would be extremely dire.

Due to this characteristic, ’Other Moon Micro’s’ sustainability is greatly reduced.

Zheng Qing clearly remembered, when Jiang Yu used this spell, the sunlight emitted by the mushrooms would reciprocate to the mushroom creatures, promoting their growth, making them stronger, emitting more sunlight—that was a virtuous cycle.

And now.

The mushrooms cannot absorb much Magic Power from the ground. The moonlight they emit could not effectively reciprocate to the mushroom creatures, breaking the cycle. Once devoid of Wizard support, these luminous mushrooms would soon wither.

”You see!”

The Old Witch Demon’s voice suddenly emerged again near Zheng Qing, perhaps because of a satisfying meal, those two scarlet eyeballs were much calmer: ”This world is constantly greedily devouring our Magic Power... Why haven’t you withdrawn the Magic Power from those illumination spells?”

”I have quite a bit of Magic Power,” the Warlock mumbled, answering: ”Wasting a little doesn’t matter.”

”You don’t believe me?” The Old Witch Demon sneered, shaking his head repeatedly, the two scarlet eyeballs darting in the night as if they were two Fireflies chasing and playing: ”Why would conserving your Magic Power benefit me?”

So you could feast on Magic Power-rich flesh, the Warlock answered in his heart.

But on the surface, he still maintained enough respect for the Old Witch Demon: ”I’m just a bit curious... the Black Prison is so big, it can’t be that you’re the only senior here, where did other Witch Demons go...”

”Many,” the Old Witch Demon seemed to have anticipated Zheng Qing’s question, cackling twice: ”Powerful Witch Demons have joined Lord Sujade’s ranks, and the Witch Demons brimming with Magic Power are the favorites of various Great Demons... Only those like me, old and frail, Magic Power near depletion, would...”

”You’re suspicious!”

The Demon with a tiger head suddenly interrupted the Witch Demon’s conversation, stretching its neck, sniffing around, eyeing Zheng Qing with suspicion: ”Don’t move!”
