High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1608: Chapter 352: Returning from Where We Came

Above Lin Zhong Lake.

Translucent air twisted into distorted lines, forming a massive vortex; a pitch-black ’moon’ sat stably at the vortex’s center, devouring all those unrooted existences around it.

The young wizards by the lake, of course, had roots.

The law books in their hands, the nearby mentors, the octopus tentacles stretching out from Book Mountain Library, and even the old fishmen escaping from the lake, all worked hard to restrain the havoc of that black moon.

But they could prevent the students on the shore from being sucked in by the black moon, yet could not stop someone from voluntarily diving into it.

When Zheng Qing was captured by the vortex above Lin Zhong Lake, struggling and plunging into that black moon, angry shouts immediately echoed from the lakeshore.

Zhang Ji Xin’s blue stone slab beneath his feet shattered with a roar, and the whole person shot like a cannonball towards that black moon.

Xin Fat Man, clutching a rockery stone by the shore, had a surge of blue aura flowing over him, and soon a pale blue giant rose from the ground, with a gigantic hand reaching for the edge of the black moon.

Xiao Xiao made smaller movements, but appeared more agile. He was carried by a turtle shell under his feet, as if riding a skateboard. The bulging turtle back skidded over water and air, swift as lightning, taking the small-statured warlock to dodge the semi-transparent, twisted lines extending from the black moon and head straight towards its center.

The young hunters of the Absolution Hunting Team would not tolerate their captain being swallowed by an unknown black moon.

Everyone acted without hesitation.

Perhaps because of using gravity, Xiao Xiao reached the black moon earlier than his two companions who broke through the gravity field forcefully. He felt his outstretched arm reaching the black moon, his fingertips even touching the cold spilling from within the black moon.

It was at this moment.

Xiao Xiao heard Zhang Ji Xin’s roared warning not far from his side behind him, then the turtle shell under his feet shook heavily, like a volleyball being hit, scraping past the edge of the black moon, and flew out diagonally.

From the corner of his eye, he could only see a streak of dark red flames racing forward to replace his position, shooting into that black moon first.

...

The one that sent Xiao Xiao flying was the Black Mountain Goat always lurking at the bottom of Lin Zhong Lake.

It hadn’t originally planned to come out.

But as Zheng Qing was devoured by the black moon, the green vine he planted that spanned two worlds instantly dissipated into a completely virtual state, vanishing into the swirling lakewater.

This left the Black Mountain Goat, seeking the route through the green vine, utterly blind.

And that peculiar hunting team chasing it from Beta Town North District’s Forest Goods Market all the way to the Silent Riverbed, had already appeared at the junction of Lin Zhong Lake and the Silent River. The Black Mountain Goat had already seen the shadow of a big blue fish.

It had no other choice.

Either duel with that hunting team transformed into a big blue fish behind it, leading to First University detecting and suppressing it, resulting in the desecration of the Mother Goddess’s glory; or follow behind that young warlock, charging into that black moon.

Though separated by the lakewater and a not short distance, the Black Mountain Goat could still smell a familiar scent from the black moon. It was sure that within the black moon, there were followers of the Mother Goddess present.

Thus, after brief consideration, the Black Mountain Goat at the lake bottom hung its head, bent its front legs, and with a strong push, dark red flames surged around it, enveloping it, turning into a stream of light shooting out from the lake surface, plunging into that black moon—a mere accident that Xiao Xiao got knocked flying upon its entry into the black moon.

...

Right after the Black Mountain Goat shot out from the lake, there was also a big blue fish.

The big fish was quite fat, with horizontal tail fins and two pectoral fins as if large paddles, its whole body covered with dreamlike blue and white runes. As the runes circulated, waves of blue radiated out from the big fish as the center, rippling out in all directions.

Through the semi-transparent fish body, the outlines of a few wizards inside could be faintly seen.

But that big fish leapt so quickly, it was just a flash before their eyes, even Bao Yang Zi, a big wizard, couldn’t clearly see the figures of those wizards under the suppression of the black moon and the dazzling blue waves.

”Hurry, hurry, hurry!”

Zhang Boren, in the fish’s belly, yelled while waving his fist: ”Faster! As long as those on this timeline don’t recognize us, the backlash remains within controllable limits!”

”I’m already giving my all!!” Little witch Mai Dong shouted with her eyes shut tight, her face flushed red, ”Captain, could you be quiet!!”

”Eh?” The dwarf Balin tip-toed, leaning to look out from the fish’s eye, his face carrying a hint of doubt: ”Captain, is that wizard ahead your youngest brother... his red face looks just like yours... didn’t you say he’s just in first grade? Why would he also want to go to Black Prison?”

Zhang Boren rudely pushed aside the dwarf’s head, leaning his face to the fish’s eye to look out.

”Damn it!”

Kunpeng Hunting Team’s leader recognized with a glance that the resolute red-faced warlock charging toward the black moon was his youngest brother, causing him to curse under his breath: ”That bastard Uncle Zhi, can’t even keep an eye on his own brother!”

As complaints were made, the blue big fish, having leapt from the water, suddenly had its pectoral fins under its belly stretch out, becoming longer and wider. With just a flap, it carried the big fish up to the black moon.

...

From when Xiao Xiao was knocked flying, to the Black Mountain Goat taking the lead, and then to the big fish emerging from the water reaching the black moon.

The whole process was a split second, like lightning and flint.

Zhang Ji Xin and Xin Fat Man, although moving first, arrived later, just belatedly reaching the black moon’s edge at this moment. Right then, the massive silhouette of the blue big fish appeared above them, casting a heavy shadow.

Because Zhang Ji Xin had jumped directly from the lakeside blue stone slab toward the black moon, his flight trajectory was very rigid, and he could only watch powerlessly as he collided with the big blue fish’s belly.

Just as he was about to raise his arm to protect his head.

A big foot suddenly stretched out from the blue big fish’s belly, wearing a somewhat familiar pair of two-toothed wooden clogs, stamping onto the red-faced warlock’s forehead.

Snap!

Zhang Ji Xin shot up like a cannonball, then like a cannonball again, flew back at an even faster speed. However, this time, his flight direction was slightly off, crashing into a pavilion on the Lakefront Corridor.

Inside the pavilion, including Lei Zhe and Augustus, the student council big shots were left covered in dust and dirt by this ’disastrous star’ falling from the sky.

Of course, the most severely injured among them was Zhang Uncle Zhi, one of the Sacred Will’s Three Heroes.

Zhang Ji Xin’s bottom landed squarely on his face, the coccyx nearly breaking his nose.

At the same time, Xin Fat Man, following Zhang Ji Xin and charging towards the black moon, was also slapped on the hand by the big blue fish’s tail, spinning like a top, whirling four or five times on the spot.

When Xin Fat Man regained his senses and tried to climb back toward the black moon, a thick tentacle quietly stretched out from Book Mountain Library, curling around the Blue Giant’s waist and dragging him back.
