Chapter 1625: Chapter 369: Fish in the Sky, Sheep in the Fire

The orange fireball carried a scorching blaze wind, blowing away the heavy night.

The sky and clouds and hills and earth, everything turned red.

An endless expanse of red, dark and vivid red, sky-covering and sun-blocking red, carried a surging hot breath, rushing forward, seemingly igniting the atmosphere of bleakness and despair in the entire world, causing life under this red to tremble together, suffocated by it.

Zheng Qing felt that the scene before him was very familiar, he was sure he had seen it somewhere.

But he didn’t have time to recall.

Boom!

Hundreds of fireballs fell on that small hill in the distance, for a moment creating the scene of a volcanic eruption, flying sand and stones, the stench spreading everywhere, smoke filled the air, the hundred-meter-high hill was violently blasted into a crater exhaling gray-white smoke.

At the edge of the crater, the remaining stones were burnt into weirdly smooth glass, reflecting the white arc overhead and the surrounding fiery red, flickering with strange colors.

Before the flowing fire completely fell, hundreds of pairs of crimson eyes emerged from the darkness, quickly closing in, stretching out pale slender tongues, madly lapping at the residual magic on the scorching glass.

Zheng Qing was dumbfounded, but also secretly relieved.

Relieved that the forbidden curse within him broke through the seal, freeing him from the trouble of magic shortage, avoiding falling into the plight of those Black Prison prisoners.

Also relieved that when he previously released magic, he didn’t target those prisoners around who eyed him covetously—in the moment of casting ’Flowing Fire in July’, he hesitated whether to directly aim the spell at these demons’ heads, turning them to ashes.

But considering the world changes, he wasn’t clear about the rules of releasing magic in the Black Prison, so cautiously, this magic did not lock onto a specific target, just aimed at the bare small hill not far away.

Fortunately so.

If he insisted on locking the target as those demons, then when ’Flowing Fire in July’ fell and the target disappeared, not only could he possibly suffer backlash from the spell, but also face the danger of being struck by those hundreds of fireballs.

”You are really not short of magic power.”

The Old Witch Demon raised its head, watched the traces left by the fireballs in the night, and sighed: ”Such powerful magic... even if a Big Wizard used it, it would be this effect... are young Witch Demons so strong now?”

Zheng Qing modestly coughed once.

He wasn’t sure whether it was because he infused too much magic into the spell, or there was too much magic accumulated among the clouds overhead, causing the effect of ’Flowing Fire in July’ to far exceed expectations.

But he knew that the suspicion of ’concealed food possession’ on him had been completely dispelled after this magic.

Even if there were individual confused suspects in their hearts, just dragging them to the big pit made by ’Flowing Fire in July’ for a turn would naturally convince them.

Zheng Qing even suspected that even if he admitted being a wizard at this moment, these demons around would pretend not to know. For them, identity differences, principle issues, etc., are just minor points. Surviving well in Black Prison is the most important thing.

Extreme madness is absolutely pure reality.

”Cough,” the Warlock coughed lightly, humbly replied: ”Not all young Witch Demons are so powerful...”

”What is that?!”

An abrupt voice interrupted Zheng Qing’s speech, he turned back somewhat annoyed, just to see the Tiger Demon staring with a pair of copper bell-like red eyes, gazing upwards.

He followed the Tiger Demon’s gaze and looked up.

Under the white arc, above the red light, a giant blue-and-white patterned swimming fish was falling from the sky, silently swimming in the night, the massive fins quietly beating the air, stirring up wave-like magic tides around the big fish, shimmering with elegant light.

Zheng Qing could swear with three fingers that the big fish had nothing to do with him.

Looking at these prisoners’ expressions, the big fish seemed to have nothing to do with them either.

Excluding the two possibilities, considering the function of this Black Prison World, then the biggest possibility was that the fish belonged to the prison management institution, it might even be the prison guard of Black Prison.

Perhaps the prison discovered his accidental intrusion, so someone was sent to take him out!

Zheng Qing speculatively guessed with excitement, hesitatingly on the page foot of the Law book, considering whether to send a big firework to the sky, or simply release a contact spell to convey his identity to the big fish.

Before he could decide.

Nearby, came the likewise astonished voice of the Old Witch Demon: ”Not just that fish... there’s something else on the mountain!”

What it referred to as ’mountain’ was the small hill Zheng Qing had just hit with a series of fireballs.

Of course, at this moment, that small hill had vanished, transformed into a deep crater exhaling hot waves.

Zheng Qing’s gaze fell on the crater’s edge.

In the firelight, a pitch-black shadow slowly appeared, with its two front legs stepping on a semi-melted rock, raising its head, arching its upper body, curved sickle horns directly pointing at that blue big fish in the sky. Around it, black flames burned, slim fire tongues transformed into black tentacles, occasionally swirling up a prisoner gathered at the edge of the crater.

Those poor creatures only intended to lap up a bit of magic, not expecting to lose their lives for it.

The pitch-black shadow stood amidst dark red, like a black hole, devouring scattered magic around and those gradually dimming red lights.

A Black Mountain Goat cub.

Upon seeing the shadow for the first moment, Zheng Qing recognized its identity. Because this was not his first encounter with the follower of Nicolas, nor was it his first touch of the Outer God’s aura.

”Furry Bean?”

The Warlock softly called, needing a reliable helper at this moment.

Unfortunately, he was now inside Black Prison, and a heavily sealed one at that. Zheng Qing could vaguely hear familiar cat calls from distant voids, yet he never saw Gouzi’s gray figure.

...

...

Black Prison Castle.

Inner Castle.

Shi Hui stood on the battlement, holding the wide muller, swept a glance at the red glow on the horizon. Red glow, night and white arc, three colors intertwined, occasionally mixed with a trace of light blue, dyeing a corner of Black Prison World’s sky with extra splendor.

”No news yet from the hunting team Old Yao sent out?”

The Witch frowned, looking toward a middle-aged Warlock beside her: ”What is the situation with that red glow? Do we still have solitary wizards outside? Why can’t I calculate what happened there!”

Before the Warlock could reply, Vice Principal Ruoyu spoke.

”It’s simple,” the Elder Wizard watched the increasing number of prisoners outside Black Prison Castle, replied quietly: ”There are not many powers in this world that can interfere with legendary divination skills... the only ones beyond our control are them.”
