High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1500: Chapter 244 The Most Accurate Prediction

The Absolution Hunting Team’s young hunters’ subtle movements did not escape the female demon’s eyes.

Unlike before, this time, Nikita decided not to ignore these details; she planned to deal with the trouble before her in a simpler and more direct way—knock out or kill these youngsters, then leave this contentious place.

But just as her fingers had gently lifted off the scales of the Black Flood Dragon.

The short wizard wearing black-rimmed glasses suddenly raised his hand.

It was as if he was asking a question in class.

This piqued a bit of curiosity in the female demon.

”May I ask,” the short male warlock seemed a bit embarrassed and somewhat uneasy, his voice tight, yet his choice of words remained very polite: ”Can I ask a question?”

Nikita liked politeness—no matter if that politeness stemmed from fear or respect, and regardless of whether it was the small talk between guests or greetings from the food to the diner.

Politeness is politeness.

”Mr. Wise?” The female demon still clearly remembered, on last year’s academy charter flight, how this short male warlock had acted wisely when she appeared, and so she had a slight expectation of him: ”What’s the question?”

”Do you perform divination?”

The female demon’s lifted finger hovered in mid-air, hesitated for a half-second, then she showed a reserved smile: ”So-so. Back when I was at First University, my average grade for Divination Class was A+.”

An A+ grade means scoring above ninety in Divination class assessments, even at Jiuyou Academy, this is in the top ten percent of the grade.

”Whoa, that’s really impressive.” Xiao Xiao complimented her, and continued: ”May I ask if you know the most accurate saying that all diviners can predict?”

Nikita raised her eyebrows.

”What is it?” She didn’t hide the curiosity on her face.

”The most accurate thing that a wizard can predict is ’the world is unpredictable’,” Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, sighed with emotion, then looked around at his prepared companions, and with a ’snap,’ closed the Law book in his hand: ”What are we waiting for?”

The moment he closed the Law book, Nikita knew he was buying time, and her finger that had been suspended in mid-air pressed down heavily on the scales of the Three-headed Black Flood Dragon.

Roar!!!

The three fierce heads of the Black Flood Dragon cried out one after the other, spewing a typhoon mixed with the stench of poison and saliva, sweeping across the entire hall.

Meow!!!

Almost at the same moment, dozens of Furry Beans leaped out from the void, roaring, ferociously biting at sensitive parts like the Black Flood Dragon’s neck, eyes, cheeks, whiskers, and more.

Interrupted by these dusky little creatures, the Black Flood Dragon’s movements momentarily paused.

With this brief moment of pause, Xin Fat Man had already swiftly taken out several glass bottles from his wristwatch and smashed them on the empty floor between the Absolution Hunting Team and the Black Flood Dragon.

A dense greenish fog quickly spread, obscuring the female demon’s sight.

The last scene she saw was the young witch stuffing a white pill into Zheng Qing’s mouth. This alertness made the female demon and the Three-headed Black Flood Dragon instinctively avoid the smoke that looked very dangerous.

”Catch them!”

The female demon’s fingers once again pressed firmly onto the scales of the Black Flood Dragon, her gaze alert as she looked around: ”Don’t let them get away!”

Despite saying so, she and No Face simultaneously wrapped themselves in several layers of thick defensive magic, fearful that a deadly Fu Bullet might fly out of the mist once again—though the likelihood of that happening was very slim.

The Black Flood Dragon roared angrily, its thick tail swishing violently, striking the ashen dog creatures with frightening precision and ferocity. Those grey figures burst like bubbles in mid-air with a ’pop pop’, and like whiffs of smoke, they dissipated without a trace.

It was like punching air.

The Black Flood Dragon was momentarily stunned.

By the time it came to its senses, the pervading green mist had been scattered by the two female demons, and opposite where the mist had been, the young wizards, as well as the ashy dog, had all vanished without a trace.

”They can’t escape!”

Zhuzhu finally jumped down from the chair, deftly pulled the trembling Zu Ge, hiding in the shadow under a table, and assuredly said to Nikita: ”In Dreamland, no one is better at escaping than these little creatures... They are experts at escape.”

The aged Zu Ge, under the female demon’s scarlet gaze, reacted for less than a second before they began to outdo each other in a rush, vigorously pounding their gaunt chests, signifying that tracking such a small matter was absolutely within their capabilities, and so on.

”Before that, there are some minor issues to be resolved.” A sharp, grating voice, like a rusted door hinge moving, suddenly rang out at the entrance of the tavern: ”You need to explain your purpose here and compensate Kitty’s Tavern for the corresponding damages.”

The gazes of the two female demons landed on the owner of the voice.

It was an old and terrible-looking cat.

It had large eyes with pitch-black pupils nearly covering a quarter of its facial area. Its skin was pale, covered with scars and wrinkles.

The old cat was leaning on a walking stick that resembled a dead branch, standing at the destroyed butterfly doors of the tavern, between sunlight and shadow.

”Who are you?” The little witch glared at the old cat rudely, as if to compare whose eyes were bigger.

”A servant of Wusa Temple.” The old cat answered with its grating voice, supporting itself on the walking stick.

The three Zu Ge looked back uneasily and tensely at the female demon.

For the tribes of Zu Ge in the Enchanting Forest, the temples in Wusa City held more authority than the tall stone steles surrounding their village. They didn’t have the courage to defy the female demon’s orders, but they also lacked the bravery to reject the demands of Wusa Temple.

”Why should we answer your question!” The little witch replied with a bad tone and an arrogant attitude: ”We are subordinates of the Sea Demon King, not followers of your temple.”

”Because this is Wusa City.” The old cat tapped its wooden stick, and invisible ripples spread in all directions from it, faintly synchronizing with the city’s breath.

Nikita slightly furrowed her brows.

She was not frightened by the silent protest of Wusa Temple, nor was she worried that the fabled Elder of the temple would do something to them. What mattered to her was that a confrontation here with the temple would bring her no benefit.

Confrontation would waste time and make an enemy of Wusa Temple.

No confrontation would just waste time.

In a matter of seconds, the female demon made her final decision.

”Leave the rest to you,” she instructed the old Zu Ge: ”After handling this situation, leave the city immediately. We’ll be waiting for you outside.”
