Chapter 1486: Chapter 230 Lourdes’ Holy Water

”Just now...”

As Zheng Qing spoke anxiously and indistinctly, another voice beside him cut him off.

”Yes, that’s correct.” Xiao Xiao’s voice was calm and clear, interrupting the warlock: ”Thanks to Elder Tuo Atar’s blessing, we have just witnessed everything in Dreamland.”

”Don’t talk! Drink this!” The witch pushed the ampoule bottle a bit closer, and at the same time turned to look at Xiao Xiao, her voice slightly irritated: ”Don’t talk to him!”

Xiao Xiao shrugged his shoulders, his expression somewhat innocent.

Several golden sparkles had already spilled from the transparent liquid and vanished into the air.

Zheng Qing’s expression became even more anxious.

He turned his head, avoiding the ampoule bottle, desperate to tell everyone what he had seen and heard: ”I saw...”

”That troop led by demons, approaching the city of Wusa?” Xiao Xiao once again interrupted Zheng Qing, adding: ”Yes, we saw it too. With a bit of luck, we might get a reward from the Wizard Covenant... if we are strong enough. I am speaking so he doesn’t, you understand.”

That last sentence was directed at Jiang Yu.

The witch understood this as well.

With a stern face, she grabbed hold of Zheng Qing’s cheek, turning his head towards herself, almost stuffing the glass bottle into Zheng Qing’s mouth, shouting angrily: ”Can you shut up for a moment! Drink it!!”

Startled by the witch’s anger, Zheng Qing obediently opened his mouth and drank the transparent liquid that still emitted a white glow. The golden sparkles shattered in his mouth, tasting somewhat sweet, like well-cooked millet.

The witch’s expression then eased a bit.

Zheng Qing smacked his lips, clearly feeling a gentle and healing force spreading inside him with the soaking of that liquid. From his stomach, to his internal organs, flowing along his blood vessels, until it reached the ends of his capillaries. He could even feel many disordered energies being expelled by that force, seeping out through his skin.

The dizziness of his mind, the fatigue of his body, the chaos of his spirit, were all being smoothed out by this force.

A refreshing sensation from inside out made him deeply comprehend the meaning of ’rejuvenated’—as if coming out of a mud pit and taking a hot shower, it was extremely refreshing.

”What is this?” The young government-sponsored student asked subconsciously.

”The Holy Water of Lourdes,” Xiao Xiao, the doctor, responded, lifting a similar ampoule bottle in his hand and explaining: ”A product of the Great Witch BenaDette, the finest healing potion in the Pyrenees region, but it’s most famous for its unparalleled cleansing effect on contaminations from the deeps of the starry sky.”

”Starry sky... contamination?” Zheng Qing repeated the word somewhat belatedly.

”You saw that gigantic Phaeton Wheel in ’Real Vision,’ right?” Xiao Xiao looked at Zheng Qing with an inquiring gaze, and upon receiving an affirmative look, nodded: ”The figure in front of the Phaeton Wheel is an entity from the deeps of the starry sky, or rather, a collective of some entities. They have been eyeing Dreamland, and many times, they can exert powerful forces upon this world. That Phaeton Wheel is a manifestation of their power, and those runes on it are filled with their ’concepts’.”

”Any wizard—I mean any ordinary wizard below the level of a Great Wizard—anyone, just by seeing those runes, would be mentally corrupted by the entities from the deeps of the starry sky. The mild ones affect your understanding of magic and make you dull; more severe cases can drive you insane; the worst and most terrifying is when it causes your fall.”

”And the moment we saw those runes, we began to be contaminated by their power. That’s when we need the Holy Water of Lourdes the most...”

”Fallen...” Zheng Qing murmured, repeating the word, and suddenly the image of those crimson eyes and the small figure flashed through his mind.

Then, in panic, he raised his head to look at his two companions.

”It’s Zhu Si!” His voice hoarse, his gaze held a tinge of despair but even more so, panic: ”That little girl sitting in the litter, it’s Zhu Si!”

Jiang Yu exclaimed softly with a hint of pity in her gaze towards the warlock.

Everyone knew what it meant to fall from grace.

And they all understood what that little girl meant to Zheng Qing.

”Is that Zhu Si?” Xiao Xiao asked with a serious expression, thoughtfully looking towards the direction of the Sky River: ”...So you mean, you only saw Zhu Si?”

The Doctor’s words left Zheng Qing somewhat confused, and the panic in his heart subsided a little.

”What do you mean?” he murmured—The thought of Zhu Si falling was draining, and he had even forgotten where he was.

”Who was next to Zhu Si?” Xiao Xiao asked in return.

”Next to Zhu Si,” Zheng Qing frowned, struggling to recall the flickering images, but all he could remember were a pair of clear, crimson eyes, and after a long sigh, he helplessly exhaled: ”...It must have been some demon.”

”Nikita.” Xiao Xiao uttered a name that sent shockwaves.

”Nikita!” Zheng Qing was a bit surprised, but this surprise was not enough to fill the deep sense of powerlessness in his soul: ”The one on the plane? Wasn’t she wanted? How could she dare...”

He stopped talking abruptly, the voice of the young subsidized student came to a halt.

Only then did he remember, they were now located in Dreamland—a world that doesn’t exist in reality, woven from illusions and dreams. They had simply used certain pathways, and by chance, entered this world.

If they could enter, naturally the demons had their ways of entering this world too.

Several abrupt meowing noises rang in the warlock’s ears, interrupting the discussion among the young wizards, as well as Zheng Qing’s recollection.

The warlock looked up and saw a familiar gray figure.

”Furry Bean?” He perked up a bit, ever since they entered the city of Wusa, Gouzi would disappear from time to time, and seeing it now somehow felt reassuring.

”Meow meow!”

Furry Bean shook its tail at him, reporting the progress of its mission.

”The Elders and the fatty are here too?” Zheng Qing finally heard some good news, managing a weak smile: ”Where are they, and how long till they arrive?”

”Meow meow!” The gray-coated Gouzi continued meowing in response.

Zhang Ji Xin and the fatty were less than an hour’s journey away from them.

Following the direction indicated by Furry Bean’s tail, Zheng Qing realized that he was no longer inside the tall, bright Wusa Temple.

Elder Atar, and the hairless cat with a walking stick, had also disappeared without a trace.

He, along with Jiang Yu and Xiao Xiao, were in an alley paved with pebbles. He was sitting on a long green wooden bench, while Xiao Xiao and Jiang Yu stood on the open ground beside him.

Among the low walls and shrubbery, numerous furry shapes were either squatting or sitting, curiously observing these unfamiliar wizards.
