High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 849: Chapter 197 Outside the Store

Su Shijun felt that not checking the almanac after getting up today was a colossal mistake.

She even regretted the cup of green tea she had for breakfast—she thought that finishing that cup of green tea and looking at the leaves would have been much better than stumbling out of the door blindly.

It was just on a whim that she decided to stroll along the short street of Beta Town, breathe in some fresh air, and incidentally deliver a certain Little Fox to a newly opened store of a certain warlock.

But she did not expect to encounter a familiar figure outside that store.

The prince of the Tabbot family’s werewolves.

At that time, William Tabbot was sitting on a stone lion across the street from the shop, legs crossed, staring intently at the establishment, motionless.

Passersby came and went seamlessly on Pedestrian Street, none of them noticing the conspicuous figure.

She also wanted to pretend like the other pedestrians on the road and ignore the figure.

Only William Tabbot didn’t share her indifference.

”Hey, Junjun!”

The towering werewolf who had been sternly sitting on the stone lion suddenly blossomed into a smile, vigorously waving his arm at the witch and greeting her eagerly, ”I just knew you would come here!”

As he spoke, Prince William’s figure twinkled and then vanished from atop the stone lion, suddenly appearing on the main path of Pedestrian Street, blocking the witch’s way.

”Sorry, you’ve got the wrong person.” Su Shijun adjusted her large red-framed glasses on her face, glared at the werewolf prince, and ferociously warned, ”If you dare to keep shouting that damn name, I’ll twist your head off and kick it like a ball!”

”That would be an unfortunate honor.” The Wolfman Prince greeted her nonchalantly and then solemnly suggested, ”But make sure to wear the right shoes before you kick, at least don’t wear high heels—it’ll hurt your feet.”

Su Shijun’s face immediately fell.

”Is that the little guy?” William seemed not to have noticed the witch’s expression, his eyes glued to the Little Fox in the witch’s arms, exclaiming exaggeratedly, ”Wow, if I could get a photo of it, Beta Town Post would definitely pay me a hefty sum in gold!”

Sensing the imposing wizard’s somewhat invasive gaze, Poseidon, who had been hiding in the witch’s arms, shrank back further into her embrace.

”Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!”

The windows of several stores nearby her shattered loudly, sending the frightened passersby screaming and scattering. Only the unlucky store owners remained, sticking their heads out briefly to look around. After seeing the empty streets, they quickly withdrew back inside.

Joking aside, whoever could silently shatter the glass on Pedestrian Street without a trace was definitely not someone these small shop owners could afford to provoke—especially those who open shops near First University are broad-minded, experienced, more knowledgeable, and able to discern that the situation must involve a Big Wizard who couldn’t contain his temper.

Perhaps not until the patrol team of First University or the Trident Swords on duty in Beta Town arrived would they dare to confront those baseless evil ghouls and argue with them.

”Who gave you the courage.” Su Shijun looked emotionlessly at the werewolf.

A series of amulets on the Wolfman Prince activated, displaying various colors, accompanied by the faint sound of some of them breaking.

The Big Wizard’s authority was thoroughly demonstrated at this moment.

”Wow, easy there, easy there, my Invisibility Amulet almost burst from your imposing air.” William Tabbot raised his hands, stepping slightly backward while still wearing a smile on his face: ”Just a joke, you know, I would never hurt it.”

”Plus, if someone from the school saw a Moon Council Upper House Member causing trouble on the Pedestrian Street outside the school without any reason, it could lead to a diplomatic incident...”

”You think the school doesn’t know you’re here?” Su Shijun replied with an angry laugh.

”I believe the school will pretend not to know I’m here,” William responded with an amiable smile: ”as long as I stay quiet and don’t cause any trouble.”

”Besides...” The Wolfman Prince turned his head, glancing at the tightly closed door of the small store, reminding her: ”You know, I never show up near you alone.”

”I didn’t know!” Su Shijun sharply corrected the big dog’s statement, irritated.

Then she realized.

”He’s here too?” The female Moon Council Upper House Member glanced at the little shop, her eyebrows raised: ”I’ve been gone for less than a month... Has the [Moon Council’s] way of doing things become so aggressive that they dare to let two Upper House Members who aren’t ’officially’ invited scatter wild oats at the school?”

She bit down hard on the word ’officially’.

After all, obtaining an invitation to Buji Island was not a difficult task for either the Karen Family or the Tabbot Family. Both families have their own businesses on the island, and also have younger members studying at First University. As long as they weren’t blacklisted by the school, getting approved was a sure thing.

But for Moon Council Upper House Members, getting to Buji Island wasn’t that easy.

In some ways, Moon Council Upper House Members were no longer just part of a family, but a symbol representing hundreds of Moon Council tribes. Their every move profoundly affected the situation in the Wizard World.

”Didn’t the school send an invitation to the Council a while ago?” William took another small step backwards, clearing the path for the witch, adding with a grin: ”Moreover, if I remember correctly, the school itself has a lot of troubles to deal with right now... Whether they will care about trivial matters like Moon Council Upper House Members coming to the island is questionable.”

Su Shijun paused in her steps.

Turning her head, she finally took a serious look at the Wolfman Prince beside her for the first time today.

”You should have played dumber.” The witch, whose anger seemed to have dissipated completely, gathered her arms, making Little Fox lie more comfortably, then spoke softly: ”Vice Principal Shi is always biased against the Moon Council. You’re just giving them leverage.”

”Our presence is not meant to please them in the first place,” William quirked his mouth.

Su Shijun finally fell silent.

Perhaps realizing that his words had made the already-visible rift between the Moon Council and First University a bit clearer, William Tabbot changed the subject, adding with a smile: ”...Besides, you’re here.”

”You’re here, and then we came here.”

”The whole Wizard World would sympathize with me and that poor Vampire... Who would care about those vague diplomatic courtesies?”

Su Shijun couldn’t help but laugh.

”Get lost!” She glared at the tall warlock, striding towards the little shop: ”While I still haven’t changed my mind, and you can still make it back on your own.”
