High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 846: Chapter 194 Failed Escape Plan

Zheng Qing had two charm guns.

One was a Remington given to him by Su Shijun, and the other was a Colt Python given to him by Jiang Yu.

Both of these charm guns were gifts from the witches at the beginning of last month to congratulate him on his outstanding performance in the freshmen competition. Since he got the guns until now, apart from practicing a few times, the young scholarship student hadn’t found a suitable opportunity to really use these two weapons.

After all, they were two very aggressive weapons, and the calm campus was not the place for them to show their abilities. Zheng Qing originally thought that he would only have the opportunity to use them during the end-of-month Winter Hunt.

He didn’t expect to make a killing now.

And the first target was a famous wizard of the Wizard World, a great noble of the Moon Council.

”Bang!”

The pale green Fu Bullet pierced through the warlock’s robe and hit the vampire with the speed of lightning—Zheng Qing believed that if the vampire hadn’t been overconfident, purposely moving close to him, the chances of this Fu Bullet hitting it would have been as slim as the last one.

However, on the flip side, it couldn’t be said to be a wrong decision for Duke Milton to close the distance between himself and a wizard with strong long-range attacking abilities.

”Puff puff!”

Dozens of vines as thick as thumbs appeared out of nowhere, dense and numerous, forming a large net that covered the vampire duke’s head and face. Clearly caught off guard by this second round of attack, Duke Milton no longer had the composure and naturalness he had shown facing the first Fu Bullet, instinctively raising his arm to shield his face.

Perhaps only a noble wizard who has lived a life steeped in luxury would still care so much about his appearance at such a critical moment.

”Run!”

Zheng Qing didn’t even bother to check the effect of the second shot; he grabbed the Little Witch squatting at his feet, threw her outward, pushed Jiang Yu simultaneously, and then pulled Elena to start running away. Xiao Xiao and others formed a Three Talents Defense Formation, following up to cover the rearguard.

Similarly, Taylor’s young werewolf cub also sprang to his feet and dashed away with lively vigor upon Zheng Qing’s shout of ”Run,” looking nothing like the blood-spattered, dying state he was in seconds before.

However, unlike the young scholarship student, Andrew Taylor led his team toward the back yard of the store. It was a very wise move. After all, the storefront was only so big, and even two people walking side by side would find it difficult, let alone a group of burly male wizards. Moreover, there was a back door in the store’s back yard, so the probability of escape was clearly higher when splitting into two groups.

”Heh... Run?!”

The chilling, sinister laugh of the vampire echoed behind the male wizard, sending shivers down his spine.

Before Duke Milton could break through Jiang Yu’s protective Jade Pendant, Zheng Qing had already deduced that they stood no chance against the vampire, who was at the peak of registered wizards and infinitely close to becoming a Big Wizard, with only his group of young people who hadn’t even finished their first year.

So, he had planned to escape even before he fired those two shots.

The first shot was fired from the Remington Symbol Gun he held. This symbol gun had a longer body and a thicker barrel, making it unnecessary to aim carefully, and it also concealed well the Colt Python inside his chest.

As for the Colt Python, it might be in Zheng Qing’s chest, but the one—precisely, the sprite—holding the gun was not him.

The Sprites, who had been bustling around the store tending to guests, had been reared by Zheng Qing for so long that, although they hadn’t quite reached a perfect understanding, they had developed an intangible tacit understanding.

At the discreet signal of the young scholarship student, the two most alert Sprites dived into the male wizard’s bosom, hid in his wide pockets, seized the Colt Python, and fired the second shot at the right moment.

It could be said that the entire plan exceeded the best expectations of the young public students from beginning to end.

Both shots were fired successfully, and moreover, the second round hit that vampire duke squarely.

The only regret was that he had misjudged the extent to which these aristocratic wizards cherished their lives.

A mere Binding Curse Bullet actually triggered at least four protective charms on Duke Milton. When those multi-colored halos rippled around the vampire duke, the young public student knew his plan had failed.

Even so, he still tried to make one last struggle to see if a few could escape.

To escape was to gain.

The other regret was that the second Fu Bullet bought too little time; he didn’t have enough time to pull out a few Godspeed Talismans from the grey cloth bag. Otherwise, maybe they really could have escaped while the vampire was still caught off guard.

After hearing the vampire’s cold laughter, the three warlocks anchoring the Absolution Hunting Team tacitly stopped in their tracks, turned around, and raised the Law book again. Zheng Qing, without hesitating, pushed the three witches and ran with all his might.

But Duke Milton did not give them a third chance.

”Huff...”

The formerly closed wooden door and shutters suddenly blazed with bright red blood flames. They felt devoid of temperature, yet seemed capable of incinerating one’s soul.

Jiang Yu and Elena almost simultaneously stopped in their tracks, each grabbing an arm, and pulled Li Meng, who was running in the front, back.

The public student following closely behind the witches was caught off guard, crashing into them heavily.

The rich and fresh, two completely different fragrances entered his nostrils, but they did not stir any romantic thoughts or desires in the warlock, only a heavy sense of defeat.

”Thump!”

The Serpent Tail Hunting Team running to the backyard didn’t fare any better, similarly blocked by a sea of blood-red flames just a meter from escape. The fastest running young wolf was even singled out by the vampire who had regained his senses, and hurled back against a wall inside the shop.

”Smack!”

A blood flame, like the flicking tongue of a giant serpent, suddenly shot from the door, passed through the two witches, and struck the young public student right on the nose. Zheng Qing’s sunglasses effortlessly broke upon collision with the red streak and fell to the ground, emitting a crisp sound.

Duke Milton sat unceremoniously, cross-legged on the counter nearby, looking down at the young public student.

”You look even more like a monster than I do.”

This acting clan leader of Karen’s family scrutinized the young wizard’s red eyes and leveled this assessment.

The air was very quiet.

Apart from the occasional whimpers of the flames of blood burning, there was only the sound of Andrew Taylor, the unlucky one, drawing a series of sharp breaths. Judging by the way he clutched at his stomach, Zheng Qing surmised that Duke Milton’s blows had probably broken the rib of the young werewolf.

In this quiet yet unsettled atmosphere, the vampire duke, who was about to say something, suddenly tilted his head with a puzzled expression on his face.
