Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 699: Chapter 363: Spotless and Untarnished (Third Update – Monthly Ticket Request)_2

He would satisfy all her demands, just like when they were kids.

But he didn’t; he had his own opinions now, things he valued more.

His career, his perspective, his status, his social circle, were all different from before.

And she still saw him as that next-door brother who would give her anything she wanted.

Lawrence Winters felt heartbroken, a tingling in his nose, his eyes turning red.

She lifted her head, not letting the tears fall, trying hard to suppress her sobs, and said, ”Fine, let’s part ways amicably, let’s divorce.”

Kenneth Osborne couldn’t believe his ears.

Divorce over such a trivial matter?!

Does she not take their marriage seriously at all?!

Kenneth Osborne’s face was extremely gloomy, he said calmly, ”You’re angry now, don’t say anything you’ll regret. I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it this time, otherwise, if I hear it again.”

With that, he hung up the phone and even temporarily put Lawrence Winters’ number on the blacklist, to prevent her from saying more hurtful things in the heat of the moment.

If Kenneth Osborne didn’t love her so much, how could he have married her?

But lately, the frequency of their arguments seemed to be much more than before they got married.

No, they didn’t really argue before marriage because they didn’t actually spend much time together.

Every winter and summer break, it was only when Lawrence Winters wasn’t out with his uncle doing feng shui, that they had time to meet.

Then, they were still friends, kept a distance, could understand each other better, and got along well.

Now, they’re close as could be, yet conflicts are rife.

Is this the cost of marriage? Or the cost of closeness?

Kenneth Osborne let out a heavy sigh, packed up his things on his desk, and went out to dine with them.

On Lawrence Winters’ side, she realized she couldn’t get through with another call.

At first, she thought there was a problem with her phone network, so she quickly called Edward Foster.

Edward Foster rushed to her office door, concerned, and asked, ”What’s wrong? Say it face to face, no need for a call.”

Only then did Lawrence Winters realize there was no problem with her phone network; the issue was on Kenneth Osborne’s side.

She stared blankly at Edward Foster, silently thinking: Kenneth Osborne actually blacklisted her number...

He actually blacklisted her number!

Unacceptable!

Absolutely not!

Lawrence Winters pressed her lips tightly, afraid that once she spoke, it would be sharp and hurt Edward Foster in front of her.

Edward Foster saw Lawrence Winters’ pale face, her eyes black like cold stars, and a supressed anger, like gunpowder just about to explode but doused with water, teetering on the edge of explosion.

”... Lawrence, what’s wrong? Is there something difficult you need my help with? Or is it about the villa?” he asked her, genuinely worried, quickly stepping inside and closing the door to Lawrence Winters’ office so that her distressed look wouldn’t be seen by the employees.

Lawrence Winters took a deep breath, using her utmost self-control, pulled a slight smile to Edward Foster, and said, ”Yes, it’s about the villa. Mr. Foster, didn’t you say you wanted to invest? Do you want to collaborate with my family’s firm to develop it together?”

”That would be great!” Edward Foster’s eyes lit up, ”I always said, as long as you ask, I’ll definitely help you!”

”Okay then, let’s find a lawyer to sign a formal contract, and announce it publicly. I can’t delay any longer on my side.” Lawrence Winters said lightly, ”I’ll only provide the land, you need to provide the funds and people. The bank just recalled all the loans, I have no money for development.”

”No problem. Was it Cameron Spencer causing trouble?” Edward Foster sneered, ”My dad wasn’t wrong, that old man is really bad news!”

Lawrence Winters quickly weighed the pros and cons in her mind.

Indeed, only the top nine companies and groups on the rich list would dare to face off directly against Cameron Spencer and the Spencer Group.

And how many of those nine groups would be willing to risk turning against the Spencer Group for such a small project?

Only the Foster Consortium has never hidden their pressure and aversion towards the Spencer Group.

So, she only had this choice, otherwise, she would have to obediently hand over the land to Cameron Spencer.

She absolutely would not agree to that!

Lawrence Winters and Edward Foster quickly found a lawyer to start drafting a partnership agreement between the two companies.

Of course, Edward Foster didn’t use the ’New Humans’ entertainment company as a partner; he was also president of an inconspicuous construction company under the Foster Consortium, and the partnership agreement with Lawrence Winters’ Heavenly Master Office was signed with New Hope Construction Ltd., under the Foster Consortium.

The lawyer worked all afternoon and finally completed the draft of the cooperation agreement.

According to the agreement, Lawrence Winters’ Great Heavenly Master Office provided the land, and New Hope Construction Ltd. provided the manpower, to jointly develop the piece of land in the suburbs of Beijing.

At the same time, financial institutions under the Foster Consortium lent them ten billion for operational funding, using that piece of land as collateral, with no need for a guarantee.

The financial prowess of the Foster Consortium was far greater than that of the Spencer Group.

At five past three in the afternoon, just after the stock market closed, the Foster Consortium and the Great Heavenly Master Office jointly released a new announcement, declaring their formal collaboration to develop the highly touted villa land in the suburbs of Beijing.

And they had already set the commencement date for construction.

Since this land had been reported as a luxury villa from the beginning, the approvals took quite a while, but now it was finally settled.

Social media immediately erupted with excitement, and the netizens couldn’t get enough of the gossip.

Meanwhile, Foster Corporation’s stock price rose rapidly after trading hours, increasing by ten percent in less than half an hour, more than the total stock price increase of the past six months.

The board and major shareholders of the Foster Consortium initially had some dissenters who thought Gabriel Foster and Edward Foster were ”using public resources for personal grudges,” risking the company’s future to settle ”private enmities.”

But seeing this surge in stock prices, well, they kept their mouths shut.

In business, a deal that can make the stock price soar is definitely a good deal.

And the Spencer Group’s stock price, due to this news, dropped by ten percent after trading hours!

It completely wiped out last year’s entire gain!

Cameron Spencer, lying in his hospital bed, saw this news and was filled with anger and frustration. If it weren’t for Brooke Osborne noticing something was wrong and immediately calling for a doctor, he almost had a stroke.

The Foster’s stock price rose, while the Spencer’s stock price dropped.

Lawrence Winters was delighted to see it.

She sat in the office, even forgetting the off-work time, looking at the completely opposite lines of after-hours trading curves of the two companies on the computer, she chuckled proudly and said, ”Look at my Treasure Basin power!”

At this moment, her phone rang, and Lawrence Winters glanced at it, finding that it was Kenneth Osborne’s number.

She was surprised, picked it up, and answered, ”...Huh? Didn’t you blacklist me?”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

”...It’s time to get off work, I’ll pick you up and take you home.” He said calmly, ”I didn’t blacklist you.”

There’s no way he’d admit it; he’d never admit it in his lifetime.
