Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 654: Chapter 343: Keeping Up With Others (First Update)

Everyone decisively accepted this good news and cheered once more.

This time, they were chanting, ”Little Edward, Lawrence Winters, together!”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

She quickly waved her hands with a smile, ”Come on, don’t say that. I’m already taken, and Little Edward is not. Aren’t you afraid that calling out like this will cause misunderstandings for him and he won’t find a girlfriend in the future?”

Edward Foster curled the corners of his mouth and gestured for everyone to stop, ”Alright, keep saying that and I’ll dock your year-end bonuses! Others will get double, but you won’t. Do you want that?”

”We don’t want that!” everyone shouted again in unison and then burst into laughter.

The atmosphere inside and outside the conference room was particularly good. Almost everyone in the company had come, even Lucas Harlow was standing among the artists, smiling as he looked at her.

Lawrence Winters clasped her hands and bowed to everyone, saying, ”Thank you all for your good wishes! You’re all giving me credit! Thank you, thank you! Come on, let’s eat first! Let’s see what’s good to eat!”

By this point, everyone was also getting hungry.

The cooking skills of the number one restaurant in town lived up to its name, even though it was a buffet style like a large-pot meal, the ingredients and flavors were unmatched by ordinary restaurants.

With a cheer, everyone immediately dispersed to get bowls and chopsticks, lining up to start eating.

Lawrence Winters sidled up to Lucas Harlow and said sincerely, ”Lucas, I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”

If there weren’t so many people here, she would’ve bowed deeply to Lucas Harlow.

Lucas Harlow picked up a bowl with a smile, ”Help me get some dishes that I love, and consider it your repayment to me.”

”No problem!” Lawrence Winters happily took his bowl and went over to join the line.

Soon, she returned with bowls piled high like small mountains and handed them to Lucas Harlow, saying, ”Look, aren’t these all your favorites?”

Lucas Harlow preferred milder flavors, even his vegetables he liked boiled, seafood like shellfish were blanched, he didn’t eat red meat, even seafood had to be wild-caught, not farm-raised.

With so many flavor preferences, Lawrence Winters remembered them all perfectly.

When she placed the food-filled bowl before Lucas Harlow, even he was taken aback.

It was a plate of food that he couldn’t have picked better himself.

”...You really do know what I like to eat...” he murmured.

Lawrence Winters grinned and winked at him, ”I’m your die-hard fan, did you think that was for nothing? Not only do I know your food preferences, I also know your favorite color, which designer’s clothing you love wearing most, I even know what brand of socks you prefer!”

Lucas Harlow smiled, a hint of faint sadness in his eyes.

Lawrence Winters knew him like the back of her hand, yet it never went beyond the scope of a celebrity and fan relationship.

Sometimes, he really wasn’t fond of how they began.

If he wasn’t a star, and she wasn’t a fan, maybe their interaction wouldn’t be like this, and he’d be able to let his guard down to pursue her.

What a pity...

He cast a melancholic glance at Lawrence Winters’s ring on her left hand and said softly, ”...You have to invite me to your wedding. I want to see how you look in a wedding dress.”

In truth, he wanted to see just how beautiful she’d be on her wedding day...

Lawrence Winters nodded with a smile, ”Of course. Lucas, in my heart, you’ve transcended being just a star and have risen to the level of a good friend. You went all out to help me, and I’m not someone who’s ungrateful. I’ve marked this cause and effect and will surely repay you one day.”

Lucas Harlow forced a smile, thinking, darn it, ”good friend”!

This was the moment to drop the friend card, what did that mean?

But he said nothing, just smiled warmly and asked, ”Why aren’t you eating? Or do you want me to go get you something to eat? By the way, what do you like?”

”Haha, I like a lot of things; as long as it’s well-cooked, I love it!”

Lawrence Winters winked at him, grabbed a bowl, and again joined the food line.

Edward Foster had just been called by several department directors to talk, and when he turned around, he noticed Lawrence Winters lining up again.

He sighed and walked over to Lucas Harlow, saying, ”Didn’t Lawrence have lunch? I just saw her take such a big plate of food...”

Lucas Harlow gestured to the plate beside him and laughed, ”It’s right here; she got it for me.”

Then he watched Edward Foster’s face tighten and said slowly, ”See for yourself, it’s all my favorites. She remembers better than you do, even better than I myself do. She’s really thoughtful.”

Edward Foster glared at Lucas Harlow, thinking, darn it, ”thoughtful”!
