Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 655: Chapter 343: Keeping Up Appearances (First Update)

He impulsively squeezed over to Lawrence Winters and said, ”Lawrence, could you please get me a plate of food as well? I like strong flavors, like black pepper steak, butter-baked oysters, pan-fried halibut, just grab some of whatever.”

Lawrence Winters smiled slightly, ”Mr. Edward, I know what you like to eat, no need to request dishes.”

As she spoke, she also prepared a plate of food that Edward Foster liked, and finally added a honey persimmon cake as a dessert for decoration on the side.

She placed the plate in front of Edward Foster and asked with a smile, ”Take a look at the food I chose, does Mr. Edward like it?”

Edward Foster looked and saw there was his favorite honey persimmon cake!

He had never told anyone about this!

Even his parents didn’t know he secretly liked sweet food, especially honey persimmon cakes!

This secret, held since he was young, was instantly seen through by Lawrence Winters. He didn’t feel annoyed or embarrassed but was overjoyed beyond measure.

He felt this meant he and Lawrence Winters were destiny’s match!

She was meant to be his!

Edward Foster rubbed his hands together, too excited, and even gave Lawrence Winters a brief hug, saying, ”Thank you for getting me food!”

It was just a short, friendly hug. Even Lucas Harlow, sitting opposite, didn’t find it inappropriate, only thinking Edward Foster was exaggerating.

Lawrence Winters was also grateful to Edward Foster, so she restrained herself from moving and patted Edward Foster’s shoulder, ”Mr. Edward, you’re too kind, you really helped me out this time, so I owe you one.”

Edward Foster thought, that’s how it should be. He wanted it to be Lawrence Winters who owed him a favor, not Kenneth Osborne!

As he was joyfully contemplating how to win over Lawrence Winters from Kenneth Osborne, he heard Kenneth Osborne’s voice coming from behind.

A little cold, a little indifferent, ”Nora, come over, let’s go.”

Lawrence Winters turned her head in surprise and saw Kenneth Osborne standing at the entrance of the meeting room.

He was dressed in a sharp, well-tailored suit, as if he’d just come down from the negotiations table, commanding strategy.

His expression remained calm, but there was a faint trace of anger in his phoenix eyes.

Lawrence Winters could sense Kenneth Osborne’s anger, and she felt a bit embarrassed.

Perhaps the friendly hug with Edward Foster just now was seen by Kenneth Osborne.

After all, she was a married woman, behaving like this wasn’t quite proper.

She quickly stepped away from the table where Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow were sitting and went to Kenneth Osborne, softly saying, ”Kenneth, you came to pick me up? Our company is having a party today, care to join us for some food?”

Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow also came over, smiling at Kenneth Osborne, ”Mr. Osborne, it’s better to meet by chance than to be invited, come join us for a drink?”

Kenneth Osborne’s face softened into a slight smile, no longer as indifferent as before, and he nodded slightly, ”Thank you, Mr. Edward, and Mr. Harlow, but we have something else to do. Sorry for leaving early today. Next time, it’ll be my treat, and we’ll drink until we drop!”

Saying this, Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow could not stop him.

They all knew that Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne were legally married.

When a husband says something like that in public, usually, a wife wouldn’t refuse.

Lawrence Winters was no exception. She waved to Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow with a smile, ”It seems we really do have something to do, so I’ll be off. You two enjoy, and when Kenneth invites you next time, be sure to honor him with your presence!”

She smiled and took Kenneth Osborne’s hand, walking together towards the meeting room door.

Kenneth Osborne’s expression finally eased a bit.

Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow saw Lawrence Winters’s action, and their gazes dimmed simultaneously.

But when Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne reached the door, Francis Johnson, with his jacket draped over his arm, strolled over and smiled, saying, ”Miss Winters, with skills like yours, I hope you can spare some time to accompany us.”

For the party, their company had dimmed the lights at the meeting room entrance, while the meeting room itself was brightly lit, so from inside, looking out was pitch black, making it impossible to see people.

They had to walk to the doorway to see the situation in the hallway outside the meeting room.

Besides Francis Johnson, there were several tall and solidly built men, standing in the corridor, making the originally spacious hallway seem a bit cramped.

What was this all about?

Lawrence Winters’s face instantly turned pale as snow.

Kenneth Osborne squeezed her hand and softly reassured, ”Don’t be afraid, I’m here, I’ll go with you.”

Lawrence Winters held onto Kenneth Osborne’s hand like it was her last straw.
