Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 665: Chapter 348: None of Your Business

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne had already taken the elevator up by this time.

Outside Nick Zeller’s hospital room, they saw Cameron Spencer’s people waiting by the door.

Inside the hospital room, Gabrielle Winters was sitting by Nick Zeller’s bedside with Cameron Spencer standing with his back to the door.

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne walked in, cleared their throats, and said, ”Mom, we’re back.”

Gabrielle Winters turned to look at them and said coolly, ”Put down the food containers. I’m just hungry, and your master hasn’t woken up yet. We don’t know when he will wake up.”

Lawrence Winters knew Gabrielle Winters was purposely saying this for Cameron Spencer to hear.

Cameron Spencer frowned deeply and said, ”...He had surgery. Didn’t the doctor say when he would wake up?”

”I’ve said it many times. The doctor said whether he can wake up depends on Nick’s own will. If he lacks the willpower himself, he might never wake up.” Gabrielle Winters spoke unhurriedly.

Kenneth Osborne knew Nick Zeller was actually already awake. Gabrielle Winters said this now, and Nick cooperated by lying still with his eyes closed, likely not wanting to let Cameron Spencer exploit the situation any further.

Thus, he also didn’t speak, took the food containers from Lawrence Winters, and placed them on the small dining table beside him.

Lawrence Winters nudged Gabrielle Winters, ”Mom, you go eat. I’ll keep watch.”

Gabrielle Winters patted her hand and stood up to eat at the small dining table nearby.

As soon as the food containers were opened, the aroma of the food made Lawrence Winters’ stomach growl instantly.

She remembered it had been almost six hours since lunch, and she hadn’t eaten a bit.

She couldn’t help but press her stomach.

Seeing this, Kenneth Osborne also told her to go eat, saying, ”I can keep watch. You go eat something too.”

Lawrence Winters was indeed hungry, so she smiled at him, ”I’ll trouble you then. I’m going to eat.”

Without paying attention to Cameron Spencer, she stood up and walked to the small dining table to eat with Gabrielle Winters.

Kenneth Osborne, with both hands in his pockets, smiled at Cameron Spencer and said, ”What’s brought you here to see Uncle Nick, Mr. Spencer?”

He acted as if he didn’t know Cameron Spencer’s true relationship with Nick Zeller, and actually, Cameron Spencer didn’t know about the father-son relationship between Nick and him, though others did.

Looking at Nick Zeller in a coma, Cameron Spencer felt uneasy.

He hesitated for a moment and said, ”...I heard that the business deal I introduced to Great Heavenly Master Zeller ran into some problem, and he got hurt because of it. That’s why I’m here to see if there’s anything I can do to help.”

Hearing this, Lawrence Winters suddenly lost her appetite.

She remembered the contract, immediately put down her meal, and said loudly, ”Mr. Spencer, this is indeed something that needs to be discussed with you.”

Gabrielle Winters tried to hold her back but couldn’t.

Lawrence Winters directly found the contract and handed it to Cameron Spencer, saying, ”Take a look. This great business you introduced forced us to sign by that Boss Ouyang and sold us out. We now owe Boss Ouyang a huge five billion. Do you think you can help us out? Maybe buy out this contract; I think that land still has potential.”

Before coming here, Cameron Spencer had already thoroughly investigated the matter of that land.

He was baffled as he hadn’t heard any news of any bridge construction or cemetery establishment before. How did the approval suddenly appear?

This business deal was something he intentionally gave to Nick Zeller, one reason to boost his reputation, and another to intentionally give him some money to spend.

For ordinary Feng Shui Masters, wasn’t this just easy money?

But with Nick Zeller’s case, not only did he fail to earn easy money, but he was also beaten half to death and bought a piece of worthless land, ending up in huge debt!

Cameron Spencer’s face turned livid and said, ”This Boss Ouyang is really disreputable! In business, he shouldn’t resort to those lowly tactics from his past. Did you report it to the police?”

Lawrence Winters carefully observed Cameron Spencer’s expression, and after confirming he wasn’t involved, she let out a sigh of relief.

If it had really been Cameron Spencer’s doing, Lawrence Winters wouldn’t have behaved mildly.

Luckily, he wasn’t involved, but listening to his tone, it seemed he didn’t want to take over the contract either.

Lawrence Winters was disappointed; she reminded Cameron Spencer again, ”What’s the use of calling the police? You know what kind of person Boss Ouyang is. Even if the contract can be annulled, causing trouble with Boss Ouyang will make him relentless. You’re essentially asking us to perish, aren’t you?”

Her point was that even if they called the police to annul the contract, the loss of a significant amount of money would make Boss Ouyang try all kinds of ways to cause trouble for them until he can recover his losses.
