Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 674: Chapter 352: He Is My Son Now, Not Yours

Brooke Osborne remembered what her mother had said about not letting Cameron Spencer leave her alone in Capital City and immediately asked, ”Is Mr. Spencer coming with us too?”

”Of course, I don’t have anything else to do right now. Going to Capital City to help your brother with his project is a good idea. You know, building houses in the Capital City isn’t just about having contracts.” Cameron Spencer said this with significant implication.

Brooke hadn’t seen Kenneth Osborne for a while. She and Kenneth had always had a good sibling relationship, and she was actually happy to be closer to her brother.

Besides, as long as Cameron Spencer was going too, her parents shouldn’t have any objections.

After Cameron left, Brooke specifically went to find her parents and told them the brief details of the matter.

Her mother was overjoyed, so much so that she didn’t know where to put her hands, constantly rubbing little Winter’s big head in her arms, while saying, ”Is Kenneth going to build houses? Is he going to become a real estate developer?!—Oh my! That’s the real money maker! Earns way more than that computer stuff he’s doing!”

Her mom was completely clueless about the tech industry and didn’t remember that Kenneth was working in ”artificial intelligence.” But even if she did, she wouldn’t think it was better than being a real estate developer.

After all, with the high property prices in recent years, ordinary people automatically associate real estate developers with making big money.

Brooke quickly explained, ”Actually, it was Lawrence’s family that bought the land. She’s engaged to our Kenneth, so she brought him along to do business. I want to go help them.”

”Go! You must go! Go immediately!” Her mom was beyond excited, ”The Winters family is really nice. I should go there and hurry them to get married soon! They’re already engaged anyway, getting married is just about getting a certificate.”

Brooke also wanted to attend Kenneth’s wedding and laughed, ”Getting married isn’t just about getting the certificate. They need to have a wedding ceremony. Besides, they haven’t prepared a wedding house yet. You can’t let Kenneth still live with Lawrence’s family, can you? That would make him like a live-in son-in-law.”

Her mom blinked, thoughtfully saying, ”You have a point. He really can’t get married and still live with the bride’s family. Our Osborne family only has this one heir, we can’t let people say he’s a live-in son-in-law.”

She lowered her head, stared at little Winter in her arms for a moment, then leaned closer to Brooke and whispered, ”Brooke, in Capital City, the house is in your name, right?”

”Yes.” Brooke nodded, ”The house here is also in my name. Don’t worry; no one will gossip.”

Having her own house gave her confidence, and Brooke had just regained some momentum recently.

Her mom squinted with a smile, looking flattering. ”You have so many houses. Why not give your big flat in Capital City to your brother? It would be embarrassing to have no wedding house when he gets married. Besides, the Winters family also has big flats. We can’t be worse than the Winters family!”

Brooke was stunned for a moment, ”What? Give Kenneth my big flat in Capital City?”

”Yes, yes! Isn’t it perfect?!” Her mom got excited, ”Look, everyone in the same neighborhood, how well-matched they are! We can’t let the Winters family look down on our Kenneth! And look, with the Winters family about to prosper, how can Kenneth not even have a big flat? How will they respect him?!”

”Brooke, you’ve always cared for Kenneth since he was little, you practically raised him. You know how good he is to you, don’t you?” Her mom simply put little Winter in a playpen with bars to let him crawl around and held Brooke’s hand, sitting her down on the sofa.

”When you were deceived by that scoundrel Gregory Quinn, it was Kenneth who stood up for you! And when you owed fifty thousand, it was Kenneth who helped you with the lawsuit to get the money back!” Her mom became increasingly emotional, ”One must have a conscience. Other sisters use their own money to buy a wedding house for their brothers, what about you? You even let your brother spend money on you! Are you really treating your brother fairly?”

Thinking of how Kenneth had supported and helped her, Brooke’s eyes reddened, and she choked up, ”I know. My heart for Kenneth is no less than for little Winter. I understand, Mom. When we get to Capital City, I’ll transfer the house to Kenneth, so he can have a proper wedding.”

”That’s right.” Her mom was satisfied, patting the back of her hand, and then whispered again, ”After you transfer the house to Kenneth, find an opportunity to talk to Mr. Spencer and have him buy you another house. Your brother will be getting married, and our whole family can’t keep living in your brother’s house, can they? You’re a married woman; living in your brother’s house would be laughed at by others.”
