Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 668: Chapter 349: Success Belongs to Those Who Work Hard

”Oh, alright.” Lawrence Winters seemed to be pondering something, jolted awake from his reverie, quickly responded, and even waved at him with a smile.

After Kenneth Osborne left, Lawrence Winters waited for a while, then put on a thicker pullover sweatshirt and a mask. He drove Nick Zeller’s Grand Cherokee towards the woodland in the suburbs.

Her geomancy skills were learned from Nick Zeller, accustomed to ”not seeing Yang by day, nor seeing Yin by night.”

They only looked at Yang residences, always at night, which made it more accurate.

This time, when that land had issues, Lawrence Winters couldn’t believe Nick Zeller didn’t notice it.

Her driving skills were excellent, and it was nighttime; the journey that would normally take three hours in usual conditions, she completed in an hour and twenty minutes.

Arriving near the woodland, she parked the car in the parking lot and went up the mountain alone.

She brought no weapons except a steel waist chain used as a belt.

If there were any more ”wild ways” like Brandon, she wouldn’t show mercy.

However, perhaps the news of this land had spread. The geomantic world was mocking the high-and-mighty Great Heavenly Master Nick’s downfall, and those interested in this land were almost nonexistent.

Therefore, it was very quiet here, except for the rustling of insects calling out at intervals in the night, with only the occasional coo from the birds resting in the forest responding.

Lawrence Winters didn’t turn on a flashlight, silently walking up the mountain path alone.

This land was indeed very suitable for building villas; the path wasn’t steep, the forest air was fresh, carrying a unique fragrance of leaves and grass.

During summer, the average temperature was about ten degrees lower than the city’s, while winter was warmer than the city, with abundant vegetation, closer to the climate of the Southern Region.

Because there were no factories nearby, the small river not far away didn’t have any unpleasant smell.

The night wind gently blew, carrying fresh moisture. The humidity in the air was perfect, and Lawrence Winters, who always felt some dryness in the city, felt incredibly comfortable.

This good land, to actually have plans approved to build a cemetery here?

She still found it incredible.

Soon arriving at the villa site halfway up the mountain, already leveled, Lawrence Winters glanced to confirm the location and walked around the entire area.

The land faced south with its back to the north, and the mountain behind it was covered with shrubs, but occasionally a couple of taller trees slightly revealed umbrella-shaped tops above the shrubs, soon standing out among the rest.

Lawrence Winters didn’t quite understand plants, and at night, she dared not walk into densely wooded areas; if there were any sleeping wild beasts, waking them would be troublesome.

So she only took out her phone and photographed the entire shrub cluster on the back mountain.

Taking shots from east to west, capturing videos along the way.

Returning to the center of the cleared land, Lawrence Winters took out her Five Emperors Coins, tossed them six times, which resulted in the Fifty-First Hexagram, the Zhen Hexagram, thunder above and below.

She could recite the hexagram’s phrase: ”Good fortune; thunder comes, startling everyone, yet some laugh and chatter; the shock spreads across miles without dropping a wine ladle.”

The general meaning is that when action is needed, sudden thunder can frighten people over a large area. Some are too terrified to laugh, others are indifferent, not spilling a drop from their wine ladle.

In other words, anything causing thunder to erupt must signify significant obstacles, ready to plunge into crisis. However, by calmly confronting and pondering, not being deceived by appearances, great rewards will surely follow post-crisis.

Overall, it is a very auspicious hexagram, particularly favorable for business ventures.

Lawrence Winters gathered the Five Emperors Coins and gradually calmed down.

She believed in Nick Zeller’s vision and expertise, as well as her own intuition and ability.

This was indeed a good place to build villas; both she and Nick Zeller were not wrong.

As for bridges built over the river and cemeteries behind the mountain, those were just frightening ”thunders” before their success.

Some played petty tricks that might cause some harm and loss to them in the short term, but floating clouds could never obstruct the moon and would surely backfire on them.

Lawrence Winters held her phone, photographing the scenery all around before descending the mountain and going home.

Her trip went smoothly, not encountering any obstacles or trouble.

Upon returning home, indeed Kenneth Osborne hadn’t returned yet.

Lawrence Winters couldn’t sleep either. After showering, she uploaded the captured videos from her phone to the computer, magnified them and played them frame by frame.

The dense shrubs covering the mountain, shot in the darkness, looked a bit eerie.
