Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 682: Chapter 355: I Will, and So Will You (First Update—Requesting Monthly Tickets)

According to domestic laws, a minimum of three legal entities or organizations must participate in the bidding.

If there are fewer than three, the bidding cannot be established.

In other words, the Spencer Group’s move completely cut off Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne’s possibility of initiating bids for this project.

And this was precisely Cameron Spencer’s goal.

He not only wanted to push out other bidders but also make it impossible for them to bid at all.

Because even if he got some stooges to go through the motions and succeeded in the bid, his company would have to make a public announcement upon success.

And he does not want to place this company under scrutiny in the public eye.

Of course, he doesn’t believe anyone would think this deeply, so he sits confidently, waiting for Lawrence Winters or Kenneth Osborne to come begging Brooke Osborne.

Lawrence indeed hadn’t thought this far because she had too little experience in this aspect of the business world.

But she did think from other perspectives.

She saw very clearly that this way, they could only hand the villa project to Brooke Osborne’s construction company, which is the Spencer Group.

Before, she had really thought that construction company belonged solely to Brooke Osborne because Brooke and little Winter hold one hundred percent of the shares.

But after seeing the Spencer Group’s legal director’s photo with Brooke Osborne in the trending searches, she realized she was too naive.

Where did Brooke Osborne get this company?

Wasn’t it Cameron Spencer who gave it to her?

So what if Brooke Osborne and little Winter hold one hundred percent of the shares?

Even with Lawrence’s limited experience in business, she knew the term ”white glove.”

Brooke Osborne and little Winter, for now, are merely Cameron Spencer’s white gloves, holding shares on his behalf.

So now all the clues point to one person, Cameron Spencer.

Lawrence held a pen, drawing a diagram of the interests on the paper.

Ultimately, the pen’s tip landed on Cameron Spencer’s name.

Lawrence furrowed her brows slightly, as if something occurred to her.

Although this piece of land has appreciated a lot now, considering the Spencer Group’s size and Cameron Spencer’s over forty years of experience in the real estate industry, this piece of land isn’t that amazing, right?

Why is Cameron Spencer putting in so much effort to seize this land?

Lawrence couldn’t quite figure it out for a moment.

Just before the end of the workday, Francis Johnson suddenly called her, saying, ”The Daoist Brandon, whom you beat up, just passed away in the hospital.”

Lawrence: ”...”

She panicked a little, stammering, ”...But...but...I didn’t...I didn’t injure him that severely, did I? Professor Lu said the injuries were identical to my master’s! My master is fine...”

Francis knew what she was worried about and deliberately stayed silent for a moment.

This stretch of silence increased her psychological pressure significantly.

Just when she was almost unable to bear it, Francis leisurely said, ”It wasn’t due to the severity of the injuries; he was poisoned to death.”

Lawrence: ”!!!”

”Who?! So ruthless?! How did you guys find out?”

”Do you even need to investigate?” Francis scoffed, ”They directly mixed poison into the IV drip, and he died shortly after being poisoned. Tsk tsk, you wouldn’t believe how crude the other party’s methods were—they didn’t care about him at all.”

”...Did you catch the killer?” Lawrence cautiously asked.

”No,” Francis shrugged, ”The killer disguised as a nurse from that hospital and administered the poison while changing the medicine. Then the killer was also taken out by someone.”

”We only discovered the killer’s body through the surveillance footage.”

Lawrence was speechless, ”Didn’t you have someone keeping an eye on him?”

”Miss, he wasn’t anyone important, just a suspect who injured your master. There’s not that high a level of security for him,” Francis sighed and shook his head, ”I’m just giving you a heads up, be careful about your master’s safety. Avoid going out unless absolutely necessary.”

Lawrence got tense, ”Why would my master be in danger too? We’ve basically kept it secret from the outside world that he’s awake, no one knows except family.”

”We’re not sure about that yet, but with Brandon dead, aren’t you worried?”

”I’m actually not that worried,” Lawrence snapped back to her senses and said with a smile, ”Brandon’s death is because someone wanted to cover up. As for my master, they only wanted to teach him a lesson, they didn’t intend to kill him. If they really wanted him dead, my master wouldn’t have survived that night. Of course, it’s wise to be cautious, and I’ll stay vigilant.”

”Hmm, good analysis, and also be careful yourself, don’t forget, you still have a hundred hours of community service to complete,” Francis reminded her.
