Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1339: Chapter 1340: Contempt

Being called a child again, the petite Ye Zhi was first taken aback, then she smiled politely and said: ”General Qi is joking, I don’t really have any special abilities, just tinkering around with my sister-in-law.”

The officers all treated Ye Zhi’s words as modesty, and along with Qi Tengfei, they praised her effusively.

The matter of An Jing working on the sand table was not written in the training plan, so Su Chengyu was still unaware of it. When Su Chengyu heard that An Jing and Ye Zhi had developed a sand table, and that the officers from the Wolf, Tiger, and Leopard Camps had all highly acclaimed it for benefiting military maneuvers, Su Chengyu became very curious. He left the palace in plain clothes and specially visited the women’s military camp to see this sand table.

When he saw the sand table, Su Chengyu’s eyes instantly lit up, and his gentle yet majestic face was filled with surprise.

”Sister-in-law is so talented! Ye Zhi is so talented!” While circling the sand table, Su Chengyu praised An Jing and Ye Zhi continuously.

Since the sand table was indeed particularly beneficial for military maneuvers, Su Chengyu rewarded An Jing and Ye Zhi with a lot of gifts on the spot.

Since he came to the women’s military camp, of course, Su Chengyu took the opportunity to see his most beloved sister.

But seeing how much Su Chengyuan had changed, no longer spoiled and wilful, and even having become much sturdier and possessing the skill to protect herself, Su Chengyu was very relieved.

When Su Chengyuan said she would definitely rely on her skills to become a Great General and guard a territory for him, Su Chengyu was even more gratified. He didn’t actually expect his sister to do anything for him, but the fact that she had this intention made him genuinely happy.

In the following four months, the ten female soldiers still spent their time in training, whether being trained on this or that. Not only did their physical fitness improve greatly, but they also mastered many skills.

On this day, the ten female soldiers went back to their tents to bathe after wrestling in the muddy fields.

After taking a bath, the ten female soldiers picked up their dirty clothes and went together to the river to wash them, all the while talking and laughing as they headed towards the river.

Having been in the military camp for nearly ten months, living together day and night, sharing meals, sleeping, enduring hardships, and training together... It can be said that they have gone from initial friction to now being united and affectionate.

But they hadn’t yet reached the river when they heard someone by the river saying: ”These female soldiers have been in the army for almost ten months now, I wonder how they are doing, whether there’s still anyone being trained to crawl on the ground.”

The ten female soldiers looked towards the source of the voice and saw a dozen soldiers sitting by the river chatting leisurely.

Hearing one of the soldiers mentioning someone crawling on the ground, both Ting Shu and Liu Feifei blushed with embarrassment. In the women’s military camp, only the two of them had been trained to crawl on the ground.

Du Aya was more impulsive, and upon hearing that soldier’s tone of mockery, she wanted to go and argue with that soldier on behalf of Ting Shu and Liu Feifei, but Ting Shu held her back and shook her head silently, stopping her from going.

In Ting Shu’s view, it was better not to make a fuss over nothing.

Before anyone from the female soldiers’ side could say anything, one of the chatty group of soldiers laughed loudly: ”Of course there’s still someone crawling on the ground. I’ve heard that some have even fainted. Aren’t all women inherently soft and weak? The military camp is not a place for them. Now that they are here, they are just asking for hardship. They won’t make it to the battlefield. When it comes to battle, we men are still the main force!”

”Keep your voice down!” someone said in a lowered voice, ”I’ve heard that there are Princess and Commandery Princesses among the female soldiers. If they hear you, you’re going to be in trouble.”
