Chapter 1308: Chapter 1309: Getting Jealous Over the Children

Once seated in the room, little An Yiyun tugged at her small fingers and said in a babyish voice, ”Mommy hasn’t come to see Yun Er, big brother, second brother, and third brother for many days, and Daddy also hasn’t come to see Yun Er and the brothers for two days.”

After such a long period of adjustment, the four little ones could already be apart from them without feeling that An Jing and Xiao Changyi would abandon them.

But in fact, it’s less about adaptation and more about getting used to it.

They’ve gotten used to An Jing and Xiao Changyi not always being by their side.

An Jing smiled and said, ”Mommy’s been busy, but once Mommy’s done, it’ll be okay. Doesn’t your daddy often come to see you? If mommy has something to tell you, she will have your daddy relay the message to you.”

”Mhm~” All four little ones were exceptionally happy, their eyes squinting into lines. At this moment, they were nestled two by two in the arms of An Jing and Xiao Changyi.

There was nothing more joyful for them than being in their parents’ embrace.

Watching them, Su Haoyu couldn’t help but laugh and say, ”It’s also because you came back that they’re so happy now. Look how delighted they are.”

Seeing the children like this made both An Jing and Xiao Changyi’s hearts soften, but hearing Su Haoyu’s words, they couldn’t help but feel a sourness in their hearts.

After all, it wouldn’t do for the children to always be inseparable from them. Although they can be apart now, deep down, they always felt guilty towards their four children.

Thinking this way, An Jing asked Xiao Changyi to take four nesting dolls out of the bundle, one for each child.

”Although Mommy hasn’t come to see you for so long, Mommy has always been thinking about you. Look, Mommy and Daddy had someone make these chubby dolls for you to play with.”

The nesting dolls were brightly colored and cute, truly pleasing to the eye.

”Mommy, these dolls are so adorable,” the four little ones said, holding the nesting dolls with their small hands, filled with joy.

An Jing smiled and said, ”There is something even cuter inside.” Saying that, An Jing opened the largest doll to reveal a slightly smaller one inside.

”Wow, there’s another one inside!” The four little ones were especially surprised.

”There’s more.” An Jing opened the slightly smaller doll and then revealed an even smaller doll.

”Wow, another one!” The four little ones were still particularly surprised, their eyes bright and gleaming as they stared at the increasingly smaller dolls that all looked the same, just different in size.

Originally seated quite far from An Jing and the others, Su Haoyu moved closer when he saw three dolls already out, suspecting there might be more inside, and asked, ”There isn’t an even smaller one inside, is there?”

An Jing teased, ”Stepfather, I can’t tell you that, or there won’t be any surprises... Haha. I’ll open another one, and you’ll see whether there’s something inside.”

With that, An Jing really did open it, and an even smaller doll was revealed to them.

All four little ones clapped their hands joyfully, ”So much fun, so much fun, so many dolls, so many little dolls, such tiny dolls. All looking the same, all the same.”

Su Haoyu then looked at Xiao Changyi with a plaintive gaze, the meaning quite obvious: why do all the children have one and not me?

Xiao Changyi directly averted his gaze, not meeting Su Haoyu’s eyes.

Su Haoyu felt even more aggrieved. Such adorable dolls, he really wanted a set...

Seeing Su Haoyu like this, An Jing struggled to hold back her laughter. What a big kid, getting jealous over children’s toys.
