Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1303: Chapter 1304: He has never been this good to her even in his dreams

Also not waiting for Ye Zhi to speak, Gong Juechen asked, ”You have been sleeping so long, you must be hungry, right? No, you should drink some water first. After you finish drinking, I will go get you some food.”

While speaking, Gong Juechen hurriedly went to the table to pour a cup of water for Ye Zhi, then brought the teacup to her lips.

Ye Zhi looked at the water brought to her lips and glanced at the extremely happy Gong Juechen because she had woken up. She then lowered her eyelids, took the teacup, and drank water.

After finishing the water in the cup, Gong Juechen asked, ”Do you want more?”

”Yes.” She was really thirsty. Very, very thirsty.

Seeing Ye Zhi looking very thirsty, Gong Juechen no longer used the teacup to pour water; instead, he took the teapot directly, placing the spout next to Ye Zhi, letting her drink straight from the spout.

Ye Zhi: ”...”

Ye Zhi merely remained silent; she eschewed formalities and began drinking water again directly from the teapot’s spout.

The temperature of the water in the teapot was just right, neither cold nor hot. Ye Zhi drank until she felt she was no longer thirsty, then released the spout and shook her head slightly, indicating that she had enough and did not need more.

Gong Juechen then placed the teapot back on the table.

”Zhizhi, wait here; I’ll go get you some food. It’ll be quick. Don’t get out of bed and don’t move around. Your wounds have not yet healed; if it bleeds again, it will take even longer to heal.” After giving these instructions, Gong Juechen hurriedly ran outside to get Ye Zhi some food.

Seeing Gong Juechen so anxious, Ye Zhi felt even more complicated inside.

By the time Gong Juechen appeared again in front of Ye Zhi, he was holding a bowl of steaming porridge.

”How did you come back so fast?” Ye Zhi was somewhat surprised. He had just left a moment ago.

Gong Juechen said, ”The cook from the neighboring Wolf Camp was making late-night food for their General. I saw there was porridge and asked for a bowl so you wouldn’t have to wait too long and possibly get any ailments from hunger.”

Ye Zhi pursed her lips slightly, but said nothing.

Gong Juechen sat on a stool by the bed, holding a porridge bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other, and he did not hand the bowl and spoon to Ye Zhi but instead scooped a spoonful of porridge.

The intention was quite clear; he was going to feed Ye Zhi.

And after scooping a spoonful of porridge, Gong Juechen did not immediately bring it to Ye Zhi’s lips but instead blew on it to make sure it was cool enough to eat, then he brought the spoon to Ye Zhi’s lips.

Seeing Ye Zhi just looking at him and not eating the porridge he brought to her lips, Gong Juechen mistook it as Ye Zhi not wanting to eat something bland, and said in a gentle tone: ”Zhizhi, be obedient, this porridge is bland indeed, but it’s for the good of your body. Right now, it’s best for you to eat something bland. In a few days, I will nourish you greatly, you’ve lost too much blood, I must replenish you completely, I’ve already thought about how to nourish you daily.”

Ye Zhi’s reluctance wasn’t due to the blandness of the porridge. She just felt too overwhelmed inside. The current Gong Juechen was being too kind to her. So kind that she thought she was dreaming.

No, even in her dreams, Gong Juechen had never been this kind to her.

However, Ye Zhi didn’t say anything, and finally opened her mouth to eat the spoonful of porridge offered to her lips.

The entire bowl of porridge was fed to Ye Zhi by Gong Juechen, one spoonful at a time, which he cooled with his breath.

Only after Ye Zhi finished the porridge did she realize she was apparently in Gong Juechen’s tent.

Then, Ye Zhi intended to get up and return to her own tent.
