Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1320: Chapter 1321: This habit of yours is really not good...

Upon An Jing’s advice, the eight female soldiers who were selecting weapons all took it seriously and planned to choose accordingly.

”Instructor, I want to choose this one.” Du Aya picked up an ax and walked towards An Jing.

The ax was still quite heavy, but Du Aya held it in one hand and felt rather at ease.

”However, Instructor,” Du Aya spoke again, ”can I use two axes, one in each hand? I’m used to chopping pork and bone with one in each hand. I’m very efficient with an axe. Even my father, who’s slaughtered pigs for many years, isn’t as fast and good as me.”

An Jing, Ye Zhi: ”...” It’s about slaughtering pigs again...

An Jing simply pondered for a moment, then instructed a soldier standing nearby, ”Go fetch another ax.”

”Yes!”

As soon as the soldier brought the ax, Du Aya immediately took it and swung one in each hand with ease, creating a swift and forceful gust of wind from the axes that demanded respect.

An Jing and Ye Zhi exchanged a glance immediately, both clearly seeing in each other’s eyes: This Du Aya, she’s naturally cut out for this, look how she wields those axes, fierce even without training.

While casually swinging the axes, Du Aya exclaimed, ”Before, I was annoyed by daily pig slaughtering, but now, I kind of miss those days. I really want to slaughter a pig for fun.”

Pigs: ”...” We are so pitiful...

Everyone: ”...” Yes, you are pitiful.

”I’ll choose this one.” After being rendered speechless by Du Aya for a while, Su Chengyuan then picked up a whip and started swinging it, the whip striking the ground with a sharp crack that was rather intimidating.

An Jing was taken aback for a moment, then asked, ”Do you know how to use a whip?”

Su Chengyuan said, ”Not exactly, but sometimes when someone angers me in the palace, I use the whip to discipline them.”

An Jing: ”...” That’s not a good habit...

However, considering that Su Chengyuan is a princess, highly esteemed, it’s normal for her to discipline a few slaves here and there in people’s eyes here, and then An Jing just casually took it in stride.

Li Wuyu was somewhat undecided, holding a sword and a stick, and asked An Jing, ”Instructor, do you think I should use the sword or the stick?”

Without waiting for An Jing to respond, Li Wuyu added, ”Previously, you and Master taught me to use the stick, and I’ve grown accustomed to it; it’s quite handy. But you’ve also taught me the sword, and I prefer the sword, even if I’m not as good with it as with the stick.”

Thinking that Li Wuyu was already very good with the stick, An Jing suggested, ”Then you should use the sword. Tuoba Yaoshi and the others also use swords, and they handle them quite well. When you have free time, you could spar with them.”

Only through sparring can one truly know one’s level of skills.

”Okay!” Li Wuyu immediately agreed happily.

Meanwhile, Liu Feifei came over, also holding a sword, and said in a much softer tone than Li Wuyu, ”Instructor, I also want to choose the sword.”

”Then just choose the sword,” An Jing saw no issue with that.

Lie Qi looked around and, not finding what he wanted, said to An Jing, ”Instructor, do you have no bows and arrows here? I want to learn archery.”

Baoqin, Shi Hua, and Ting Shu also came over and said, ”Instructor, we want to learn archery too.”

An Jing laughed and said, ”Indeed, you can learn archery, but did you guys agree on this beforehand? Why did you all choose archery at once?”
