Chapter 1325: Chapter 1326: Heaven Knows, Earth Knows, You Know, I Know

Meng Zhuqing could not possibly wish for his face to be a bit better. Initially, it was precisely because of his disfigurement that he buried his feelings for Wild Goose Jade deep in his heart.

Now, even though he and Wild Goose Jade were already together, even though Wild Goose Jade didn’t mind his face, he himself actually minded it very much; he truly felt that his face was unworthy of standing beside Wild Goose Jade.

If it could be even a little better, he was truly willing.

Therefore, when Gong Juechen mentioned it like that, Meng Zhuqing was somewhat tempted.

But—

”I do want my face to get better, but I can’t just let you test medicine on me. If Yao’er finds out, she will get mad at me.”

”You don’t have to let her know, only heaven, earth, you, and I would know.”

”No way! What if she finds out about this in the future? It’s just not possible, no way.”

”Then why don’t you ask Jade Jade’s opinion? If she agrees, then you can try it,” Gong Juechen persisted.

This medicine was intended for his own Zhizhi, and he wasn’t completely certain that it would be effective. However, he hoped that the medicine he had for Zhizhi would be somewhat useful. That’s why he planned to find One Person to test it first.

And Meng Zhuqing was the most suitable candidate.

”This...” Meng Zhuqing hesitated.

Gong Juechen said, ”I guarantee with this medicine, even if it can’t heal the scars on your face, it won’t make your face look any worse than it is now. You can really give it a try.”

Seeing Meng Zhuqing still hesitating, Gong Juechen spoke frankly, ”Recently, I’ve been pondering about the Scar Removal Medicine to remove Zhizhi’s scars. You should know about this, but Zhizhi really dislikes me. If I give her a bottle of useless medicine to apply, she would surely hate me even more. That’s why I was thinking of having you help me test it first. If it’s ineffective, I can add a few more ingredients and try again later.”

After hesitating for a long time, Meng Zhuqing finally agreed and stood up to say, ”Then I’ll go and ask Yao’er’s opinion.”

”Go quickly, I’ll wait for you here,” Gong Juechen urged him.

As soon as Meng Zhuqing arrived at Tobanya’s tent, he encountered Du Aya, who, upon seeing him, straightforwardly said, ”Vice General Meng, you’re looking for Jade Jade, right? Jade Jade just went to the river to do laundry. You should look for her there.”

”Eh.” Meng Zhuqing first politely smiled at Du Aya before heading to the river to find Tobanya.

Upon seeing Meng Zhuqing, Tobanya was surprised; of course, it was more of delight, ”How did you come?”

Before this, the two had always met in secret.

But ever since Xiao Changyi began to help An Jing train the female soldiers, Meng Zhuqing, who always accompanied Xiao Changyi, also began to appear in the women’s military camp more openly and aboveboard.

Afterward, their meetings were no longer in secret but moved to the open.

Originally, the two were husband and wife, and everyone knew about it; there was no need to pretend to be strangers.

The reason they had met in secret before was that An Jing and Xiao Changyi could hardly meet during the day and would only meet secretly in An Jing’s tent at night. And their status was not like that of Xiao Changyi and An Jing, so naturally, they had to be more restrained.

However, considering they were in a military camp and didn’t want others to gossip, even now when they could talk to each other face-to-face in the camp, they only exchanged a few words each time and never engaged in any intimate behavior.

In short, they were particularly proper and polite.

Meng Zhuqing did not immediately answer Tobanya’s question; he just squatted down beside Tobanya.
