Chapter 1305: Chapter 1306: Playing Dead

Seeing Ye Zhi just blushing and not taking the chamber pot to pee, Gong Juechen asked in bewilderment, ”Zhizhi, don’t you feel the urge?”

”...Urgent.” Ye Zhi squeezed out the word from between her clenched teeth. ”Put it down, go out. Don’t come in unless I call for you!”

”Then be careful when you get up, make sure not to strain your wound and cause it to bleed again.” Gong Juechen placed the chamber pot by the bed, advising as he walked away.

After Ye Zhi finished peeing and waited for a while, she called out, ”You can come in now.”

Then, Ye Zhi lay sprawled on the bed pretending to be dead, not saying a word despite Gong Juechen calling her name, and kept her eyes tightly shut, though her face and ears were still red enough to drip blood.

Gong Juechen, looking at Ye Zhi in this state, felt that she was incredibly cute.

Following that, Gong Juechen, not at all disgusted, took the chamber pot away to put it in its place. Then, he brought over a basin of water, ”Zhizhi, wash your hands.”

Ye Zhi cracked her eyelids slightly to see where the basin was, then shut her eyes again, but her hands found their way precisely into the basin to wash, and after washing, she didn’t reach out for a towel to dry them, instead keeping her hands in the basin.

Gong Juechen got the message and quickly set the basin aside to towel dry Ye Zhi’s hands for her.

The moment Ye Zhi felt her hands dried, she hurriedly retracted them and rested them on the pillow, continuing to play dead.

A broader smile formed on the corner of Gong Juechen’s mouth. How could his little Zhizhi be so adorable~

”Zhizhi, do you want me to give you a sponge bath?” Unable to hold back, Gong Juechen blurted out the words. As soon as he spoke, not only was Ye Zhi ready to fly into a rage, Gong Juechen wanted to slap himself.

You and your big mouth!

Before Ye Zhi could even get angry, Gong Juechen actually slapped himself, while his other hand pressed down on her shoulder to prevent her from getting up, so as not to aggravate the wound on her back.

”Zhizhi, it’s just a bad habit of mine to blurt things out, I really didn’t mean to say it. Please don’t hold this against me this time, once you’re healed, you can take issue with me however you like, okay?” Gong Juechen hurriedly soothed, fearing that Ye Zhi would flare up and settle the score with him.

When Ye Zhi heard Gong Juechen’s blurt about giving her a sponge bath, she opened her eyes in anger, but before she could erupt, she saw Gong Juechen harshly slapping his own face.

Seeing that the corner of Gong Juechen’s mouth was now split and slightly bleeding, Ye Zhi’s anger dissipated completely in an instant.

Now, she just felt complicated.

Her feelings were truly, truly very complex.

With emotions so complex, she didn’t know whether to scold Gong Juechen or say something to him, so in the end, she couldn’t be bothered to ponder the matter any longer, and simply closed her eyes again.

Seeing Ye Zhi not struggling to get up, Gong Juechen breathed a huge sigh of relief and dared not speak carelessly anymore. He was extremely cautious with his words, afraid to provoke her further.

In the past, provoking Ye Zhi resulted at worst in him getting beaten up, which he wasn’t afraid of; what he feared was her worsening the injury on her back while beating him.

”Zhizhi, if you need anything during the night, just call for me.” While Gong Juechen prepared his bedroll beside the bed for sleep, he reminded the Ye Zhi on the bed.

Ye Zhi sneakily opened her eyes a crack, saw Gong Juechen making his bedroll, hesitated for a moment, and then asked, ”Have you been sleeping like this for the past couple of days?”
