Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1321: Chapter 1322: They Have No Choice but to Submit!

Baoqin said with easy grace, ”Before coming to the military camp, we agreed that if possible, we would learn archery together. We have seen hunting before, and we are truly interested in archery.”

These four women only knew a bit of basic martial arts, and were unfamiliar with any kind of weapon, but what really piqued their interest was archery.

An Jing nodded, and then had someone fetch bows and arrows.

Once Lie Qi and the others had their bows and arrows, An Jing continued, ”The purpose of learning archery is to hit the target. Since you have chosen archery, you must practice diligently every day to achieve a hundred shots with a hundred hits.”

Lie Qi and the others treasured their bows and arrows as if they were precious gems, and as soon as An Jing finished speaking, they immediately said, ”Instructor, rest assured, we will practice diligently every day!”

Baoqin, Lie Qi, Ting Shu, and Shi Hua had always been down-to-earth and earnest, so An Jing truly believed they would practice diligently.

...

The four, Baoqin, Lie Qi, Ting Shu, and Shi Hua, chose archery; Tuobanya, Shi Shi, Li Wuyu, and Liu Feifei chose swords, Du Aya chose a pair of axes, and Su Chengyuan chose a whip.

If it were modern firearms like pistols and sniper rifles, Ye Zhi might have been able to help, but with bows and arrows, swords, axes, and whips, Ye Zhi was clueless and naturally couldn’t teach the ten new soldiers.

Therefore, Ye Zhi and An Jing decided that Ye Zhi would be in charge of teaching close-quarters combat to the ten female soldiers, while the rest would be An Jing’s responsibility.

An Jing was quite adept with the sword, and could probably instruct Li Wuyu and Liu Feifei, but teaching Tuobanya and Shi Shi, who were already skilled with the sword, would be somewhat challenging.

As for the bow and arrow, which is not like a sniper rifle, she was completely unfamiliar with it; let alone whips and axes...

Hence, it naturally fell upon her husband to take on the task!

But this was also good news, as her husband no longer had to just visit occasionally; he could now train together with her, spending the whole day with her.

Xiao Changyi had no objections to helping An Jing train these new soldiers, and was quite happy about it.

Xiao Changyi shared An Jing’s thoughts; he believed that this meant he could spend more time with his wife. Even though there would be quite a few third wheels around them, that was better than when his wife was training the soldiers while he was stuck in the Wolf Camp listening to Liu Buli give reports.

Back in the day, in the military camp, Xiao Changyi learned a lot due to Su Haoyu’s appreciation and partiality.

And when it came to learning, Xiao Changyi always picked things up quickly, especially in martial arts. Some of the Great Generals were stunned when they gave pointers to Xiao Changyi, who learned so quickly and so well.

This was exactly why the people in the military camp respected Xiao Changyi so much.

It was one thing to have great battle skills and integrity, but to also have such nimble movements? They never met their match in the camp... they couldn’t help but acknowledge his skills!

Initially, the generals who mentored Xiao Changyi used different weapons, which eventually led to Xiao Changyi mastering almost all weapons.

Because he was proficient with various weapons, Xiao Changyi also understood their strengths and weaknesses, which allowed him to quickly pinpoint the vulnerabilities of enemy generals during combat and defeat them.

Now, teaching the female soldiers was not a challenging task for Xiao Changyi.

The challenge was whether he had the patience to teach them.

Thinking of Xiao Changyi’s patience, An Jing couldn’t help but speak up, ”My dear, I am serious about training these female soldiers. If they learn slowly and can’t get it right away, you can’t lose your patience, okay?”
