Chapter 1319: Chapter 1320: Choosing Weapons

On the battlefield, merely having physical strength is not enough; one must also understand offense and defense.

Offense to kill the enemy.

Defense to protect oneself from being killed by the enemy.

And how can a soldier enter the battlefield without a weapon? Therefore, before An Jing and Ye Zhi taught the female soldiers their true skills, they let the new recruits choose their weapons first, and then learn targeted offense and defense.

That day, An Jing and Ye Zhi, along with ten female soldiers, returned to the women’s military camp training ground.

On the training ground, there were eighteen types of weapons lined up: knives, spears, swords, halberds, axes, battle-axes, hooks, forks, whips, maces, hammers, pikes, pokers, clubs, spears, sticks, lances, and harpoons.

”See,” An Jing, with her hands behind her back and pacing, said in the middle of the female soldiers and the eighteen weapons, ”choose whichever weapon you fancy. But remember, once you choose, you cannot change it later. Deputy Instructor Ye and I will teach you Martial Arts based on the weapons you select. If there’s anything we can’t teach, I’ll ask Prince Yi to teach you personally.”

The ten female soldiers brightened up at the mention of having Prince Yi personally instruct them. Knowing that Prince Yi is highly skilled and never takes on disciples, learning even just a bit from him could greatly enhance their skills.

Seeing the eager eyes of the ten female soldiers, An Jing barely suppressed her smile, maintaining a serious expression: ”Although we are also in a military camp, our women’s military camp has only twelve members. Naturally, we can’t train the same way as other camps. Besides, as Princess Yi, if I can secure some privileges for us, I will strive for it. Of course, this is also for the good of our women’s military camp. We may only be twelve, but we must not let others look down on us.”

The ten new recruits immediately responded, ”Instructor, rest assured, we will train diligently and not let others look down on our women’s military camp!”

Having spent nearly three months together, the twelve of them in this women’s military camp formed a cohesive group with a strong sense of collective honor. Moreover, the competitive spirit of everyone was ignited after joining the camp; they absolutely could not be underestimated by others.

They could train, they could improve themselves, making it impossible for others to look down on them.

”Very well.” An Jing nodded in satisfaction, ”Then go pick your weapons.”

While the others went to choose their weapons, only Tuoba Yao and Shi Shi did not.

Even more, Tuoba Yao and Shi Shi asked An Jing, ”Instructor, I want to choose a sword. I’ve always used a sword, but I don’t want to pick any of these swords. Can I use the one I brought into the camp?”

”Of course,” An Jing agreed readily, knowing that their own swords would be more comfortable to use. ”Just use them, but I have seen your swords, and they are very sharp; you must be extremely careful during sparring in the camp. Sparring is just sparring, but be sure to stop at the right point and not hurt anyone.”

Tuoba Yao and Shi Shi happily replied, ”Thank you, Instructor, we will be careful!”

Then An Jing turned back to look at the other eight female soldiers choosing weapons. She then reminded them, ”It’s best to choose something you find comfortable to use, and if none are comfortable, choose something that interests you. If you do, you’ll likely learn better.”

If the chosen weapon is neither comfortable nor interesting, learning can indeed be incredibly dull and achieving success becomes much harder.
