Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1327: Chapter 1328: I Can See It

”Mmm!” Meng Zhuqing immediately nodded vigorously, fumbling to wipe the tears from his wife’s eyes, ”I won’t care anymore, won’t care, I won’t care at all. Please stop crying, I beg you, stop crying.”

The way she looks now, it’s truly more painful for him than if she had killed him.

After comforting Tobanya properly and helping Tobanya wash her clothes, Meng Zhuqing finally returned to Wolf Camp.

As soon as he entered his tent, he said to Gong Juechen, who had been waiting for him in his tent, ”Yao’er does not agree. I thought about it and also feel it’s not right to test the medicine on you. You should find someone else.”

Gong Juechen looked unsurprised, ”It took you so long to come back, I knew Jade Jade wouldn’t agree. Alright, I won’t make things difficult for you, I’ll leave.”

With that said, Gong Juechen really left.

Then, Gong Juechen found a few soldiers in Wolf Camp with knife scars and had them test the medicine, and he paid them, too— one hundred taels each.

Their Military Salary was only two taels per month. Since the medicine is applied externally, rather than ingested, there shouldn’t really be any major problems even if there was an issue. So those soldiers agreed.

After those soldiers used the Scar-removing ointment made by Gong Juechen for a month, not only were they perfectly fine, but their scars had significantly faded.

One soldier had a shallow knife scar, which faded to the point where it was almost invisible.

Seeing the scar removal effect was quite good, Gong Juechen started to research again, and once he was done, he went to find Ye Zhi.

”Zhizhi, this is for you.” As soon as he saw Ye Zhi, Gong Juechen eagerly handed over the ointment in his hand to Ye Zhi.

Ye Zhi did not take it, only looking at the medicine bottle in his hand, ”What’s this?”

”Ointment, for scar removal. I had people try it, and the effects are good. Even if it can’t completely remove the scar on your back, it can definitely lighten the color quite a bit.”

Ye Zhi felt very complex inside; he had actually managed to develop it. But her face didn’t show a hint of her internal emotions, she just said indifferently, ”The scar on my back, I can’t see it anyway, no need to remove it.”

”But I can see it,” he retorted.

Ye Zhi glared at him instantly, ”How can you see it?” The women here all dress very conservatively, and she was no exception. As long as she didn’t undress, no one could see the long scar on her back.

Gong Juechen blurted out, ”Once we get married in the future, we will have bodily contact without clothes every night. I’ll see it then. And having such a severe scar on your back, it will upset me. I don’t want you to—” have scars; it would pain my heart.

He hadn’t finished his sentence when Ye Zhi slapped him across the face and cursed, ”Do you believe I can thrash your mouth?”

Gong Juechen covered his struck left cheek, his expression one of innocence and grievance: ”Zhizhi, what did I do for you to hit me?”

”You know very well in your heart!”

Gong Juechen’s innocent expression was laced with bewilderment: ”What do I know?”

Ye Zhi gritted her teeth, ”Aren’t you aware of what you just said?!”

Gong Juechen thought hard about what he had just said, and upon remembering the words he blurted out without thinking, his face immediately turned into a mournful expression: ”Zhizhi, if I say that I just tend to speak without thinking, that I didn’t mean to say those things... would you believe me?”

”You, tell, me?” Ye Zhi said, enunciating each word.

”I believe,” he quickly replied.

Ye Zhi turned and walked away.
