Chapter 1194: Chapter 1195: Tobanya Joins the Army

An Jing didn’t feel as downcast as Ye Zhi; she calmly said, ”It’s not dark yet today, maybe we can recruit one before nightfall.”

”Hope so.” Ye Zhi sounded listless and not very hopeful. Here, the women all have old-fashioned thinking, women take charge of the home, men are in charge outside, men go to battlefields, and women stay home, sigh.

She couldn’t bear to be an accessory to men like the women here, sorry, Miss can’t do that!

This is what Ye Zhi was thinking.

At that moment, out of the corner of her eye, Ye Zhi spotted Tobanya and immediately pointed her out to An Jing.

”Boss, look, Wild Goose Jade!” Then, with a look of envy, Ye Zhi said, ”She’s really beautiful, even with so many people on the street, I spotted her immediately.”

Seeing it was indeed Tobanya, An Jing looked towards Meng Zhuqing standing not far behind her and smiled, ”Your wife is here looking for you.”

Initially expressionless, Meng Zhuqing grinned sheepishly upon hearing An Jing’s words but said nothing.

Sitting on the other side of An Jing, Xiao Changyi just glanced at Tobanya and then averted his eyes.

As soon as Tobanya came, she first greeted An Jing and Xiao Changyi, then, without going over to Meng Zhuqing, she said to An Jing, ”Princess, Wild Goose Jade wishes to enlist in the army, please register her.”

An Jing was initially taken aback, then looked at Meng Zhuqing and saw a surprised expression on his face as well; clearly, Tobanya had not mentioned her desire to enlist to Meng Zhuqing.

Ye Zhi was especially delighted, ”Commandery Princess, you want to join the army? Great, I’ll register you. Just press your fingerprint later.”

Tobanya nodded lightly in response, ”Mm.”

”Ye Zi, wait a moment,” An Jing stopped Ye Zhi from registering Tobanya.

Although Ye Zhi didn’t quite understand why, she stopped the registration process.

As soon as An Jing stopped Ye Zhi, she called Meng Zhuqing over and then spoke to Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya in a low voice, ”You two probably haven’t discussed this military service matter yet, wait until you two have a thorough discussion and are sure, then tell us.”

However, Tobanya insisted, ”No need to discuss, Wild Goose Jade wants to join the army, please register her, Princess.”

”This...” An Jing was in a difficult position. In a marriage, shouldn’t there be mutual consultation? Tobanya insists on doing this alone without even discussing it with Meng Zhuqing in advance, how should Meng Zhuqing feel about this as her husband?

Meng Zhuqing pursed his lips, and after a long while, he fist-palmed towards An Jing, ”Madam, since the Commandery Princess wants to join the army, please help her register.”

After speaking, without waiting for An Jing to respond, Meng Zhuqing turned and walked back to stand not far behind An Jing, his expression again without any trace, as if the person wanting to join the army was not his wife.

Seeing Meng Zhuqing like this, An Jing immediately gave Tobanya a meaningful glance, clearly indicating that Meng Zhuqing was upset and suggesting that Tobanya should comfort him quickly.

However, Tobanya did not go to comfort him; she just stood there, insisting again, ”Please help Wild Goose Jade register, she wants to join the army.”

”Boss...” Ye Zhi looked at An Jing, and although she didn’t complete her sentence, her facial expression was quite clear: since she insists so much, let’s hurry up and register her. This is a rare occurrence of someone showing up, we cannot let her slip away.

An Jing looked at Tobanya, then at Meng Zhuqing, originally wanting Tobanya to talk to Meng Zhuqing, but Tobanya spoke again, ”I ask the Princess for her blessing.”
