Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1184: Chapter 1185: I’m Afraid to Ask, You Are Again...

”Zhizhi, stop moving around. How am I supposed to give you acupuncture if you keep fidgeting like this?” Gong Juechen tried to persuade gently.

”Fine, I won’t move. I’ll get back at you next time,” Ye Zhi huffed.

”Can you not get back at me?”

”No!”

”Then can you not hit the face?”

”I wasn’t planning to hit your face originally, but since you mentioned it, I’ll go for the face next time.”

”...”

It was then that Gong Juechen inserted the first silver needle into an acupoint on Ye Zhi’s back.

”If it hurts, just say,” although Gong Juechen had very gently and slowly inserted the needle to minimize any pain.

The needle’s prick was slightly irritating as it entered the skin, but to Ye Zhi, such pain was negligible.

She had been shot before.

Still, she responded with a nod: ”Mm.”

At the same time, she closed her eyes.

Gong Juechen was focused on performing the acupuncture and stopped talking to Ye Zhi, who was already too tired. Soon, she fell asleep, sleeping soundly.

When Gong Juechen was about to insert the fourth silver needle, he realized Ye Zhi was asleep. He first looked at her sweet sleeping face with a smile in his peach blossom eyes, then continued performing the acupuncture.

After finishing the acupuncture, Gong Juechen didn’t leave. Instead, he sat on the stool next to the bed, smiling as he tenderly watched the peacefully sleeping person on the bed.

Ye Zhi was really petite, especially her face, extremely small.

Gong Juechen stretched a hand out and compared it next to Ye Zhi’s delicate face. Her face was obviously much smaller than his palm.

”She’s all grown up, how can her face be so small,” Gong Juechen chuckled inwardly.

”Moreover,” his smile grew wider, ”you sleep so peacefully, not afraid that I might do something?”

In any case, pestering her has some effect; at least she’s gotten used to his presence.

...

After having lunch in the palace, An Jing and Xiao Changyi returned.

Hearing that Ye Zhi hadn’t eaten lunch and had gone straight to her room to rest, An Jing was a bit worried and decided to visit Ye Zhi.

Before An Jing could enter Ye Zhi’s room, she saw Gong Juechen hurrying out of Ye Zhi’s room, making a ’shush’ gesture.

”Zhizhi is still sleeping, don’t disturb her,” Gong Juechen whispered very softly, afraid to wake Ye Zhi.

Not seeing any maidservant around but spotting Gong Juechen, An Jing was skeptical and even more concerned, so she entered the room anyway.

Seeing that Ye Zhi really was asleep, she felt relieved and came out softly asking, ”When did you get here? Did Ye Zi let you?”

”Yes, yes,” Gong Juechen nodded eagerly, his expression shamelessly flippant.

An Jing rolled her eyes: ”The more you behave like this, the less I believe you.”

Gong Juechen became even more shameless: ”Jingjing, you should believe me. I entered the courtyard with Zhizhi, and many people saw it. I haven’t left since then, and anyone with a bit of sense would know that my relationship with Zhizhi has progressed rapidly. Maybe she’ll agree to marry me soon.”

An Jing glanced sideways: ”That’s a pretty picture you’re painting.”

”I’m telling the truth. If you don’t believe me, just ask Zhizhi when she wakes up and see if I’m lying.”

”I’m afraid if I ask, you’ll just end up being beaten up by her again,” An Jing was really annoyed.

”I’m not afraid of getting beaten,” Gong Juechen showed an indifferent expression as if he didn’t mind at all.
