Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1201 - 631: Deep into the Beast Horde, An Unexpected Incident! (Part 2)

A group of giant beasts, like ruthless steamrollers, are flattening everything in their path.

Xu Xin looked at the path behind them, where a long, straight road appeared, completely flattened, stretching far into the distance.

Where did they come from?

...No, that’s not important now.

Xu Xin looked at the herd again and had Huihui hover above the enormous Stone Giant Beasts.

The result was still no discovery.

He even tried calling out, ”Chang Yin? Are you there?”

But his voice was utterly insignificant amidst the sounds of countless giant beasts’ footsteps and the crashing and smashing of trees.

No...?

It shouldn’t be. Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy clearly saw Chang Yin.

That means he hasn’t found him.

However, if it were Chang Yin, seeing such a huge wyrm flying overhead, he shouldn’t be indifferent, right?

”Keke, have you spotted Chang Yin anywhere?”

Xu Xin, unable to come up with an answer, asked Keke, who always displayed a unique talent.

”Huh?” Keke tilted her head.

”No, I haven’t found anything...” Xu Xin sighed.

Perhaps he should go back, as it seemed he couldn’t discover anything else here.

”Hmm? Hmm!” Keke waved her little paw.

”...You say you know where Chang Yin is?” Xu Xin’s eyes lit up.

”Hmm!”

Keke jumped out of Xu Xin’s arms and ran up Huihui’s neck to its head.

”Aha?”

”Hmm! Hmm... Hmm!” Keke murmured a few times.

”Aha!”

Huihui immediately swooped down towards the center of the line of Stone Giant Beasts.

”Hmm-hmm!” Keke held tightly to a bump on Huihui’s head, and after Huihui completed its turn, she quickly climbed back down Huihui’s neck to Xu Xin, diving into his arms with a ”swish.”

”You, little one, are afraid of heights, aren’t you?” Xu Xin laughed.

”Hmm...” Keke murmured gloomily.

Meanwhile, Huihui continued to hover and circle in the central area of the troop.

”Is Chang Yin down there?”

”Hmm!”

Xu Xin immediately looked down, searching carefully.

The distance between each Stone Giant Beast and the other beasts was very narrow, each twenty meters high and thirty or forty meters long, with gaps only about four or five meters apart.

In these gaps, there was also a group of giant insects, each three or four meters long and two meters high.

They crawled leisurely, filling the gaps completely.

Even so, the giant beasts never stepped on them, moving like perfectly interlocking mechanical gears, leaving Xu Xin awestruck.

At present, these beasts indeed didn’t seem to have their own consciousness, only marching forward under control. If any had awareness and tried to do something else, there would definitely be a trampling incident.

Hmm... first find Chang Yin.

Xu Xin quickly began searching the gaps in the central area.

The mix of giant insects and beasts was truly dizzying to see.

”Ah? What is that...!”

Xu Xin suddenly noticed a stone-like figure riding on the back of one of the giant insects!

The stone man sat on the insect’s back like riding a horse, perfectly integrated with the insect, resembling a statue carved from a single massive stone.

That must be Chang Yin!

Found him!

Indeed, he is here!

”Huihui, fly upwards if there’s any issue,” Xu Xin reminded the wyrm beneath him.

Without seeing Xue Lan and Xiaohong, Chang Yin might not be an ally.

”Aha,” Huihui responded.

Xu Xin nodded, then shouted towards the ground, ”Chang Yin! It’s me, Xu Xin!”

He was already very close to Chang Yin, only about thirty meters away, so despite the noisy surroundings, Chang Yin should be able to hear him.

But strangely, Chang Yin remained unresponsive, still sitting rigidly on the giant insect.

”Weird...” Xu Xin frowned slightly and shouted again, ”Chang Yin! Can you hear me? Chang Yin!”

Still no response, as if he had truly become a stone statue.

Could he be like this group of stone statues, devoid of consciousness?

That would be troublesome...

Xu Xin had thought the stone statues were controlled by Chang Yin, but this seemed...not to be the case?

Chang Yin is also under control?

”Hmm...” Keke tilted her small head to look down.

”What’s going on here...”

Xu Xin pondered for a moment and then looked at Keke: ”Keke, you said earlier, it’s okay for us to go down there, right?”

”Hmm!” Keke confirmed with a sound.

”Why are you so sure?” Xu Xin pulled Keke back, making eye contact.

”Huh?” Keke flicked her big tail, looking innocent.

The little creature was pretending to be clueless again.

Xu Xin sighed, ”Then I trust you. You and I will jump down together.”

”Hmm? Hmm...” Keke shrunk her head, then burrowed into Xu Xin’s arms, clinging to him tightly with all four paws and even entwining her tail, ”Hmm!”

”You truly are afraid of heights.” Xu Xin chuckled, then said to Huihui, ”Huihui, descend to the lowest altitude!”

”Aha—” Huihui started flying closer to the herd.

But its body was too large, so it needed a certain speed to stay airborne.
