Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1230 - 641: So This Is How We Became Survivors

After another round of questioning, the general situation was more or less understood.

The reason it came seeking refuge was because its involvement in the half-human, half-monster business was discovered.

Though it had been collaborating with those alien invaders for some time, they never completely trusted it.

Because after all, it possessed half human blood, and its appearance was also detested by them.

Whether in the eyes of humans or alien invaders, it was a hybrid monster.

So, those alien invaders initially intended to control it, but unfortunately, such a thing was simply impossible.

Because like Xu Ying, it was capable of traveling through time and space, breaking free from captivity was entirely within its ability.

Eventually, the conditions were indeed met.

The first batch of survivors arrived, and the selection began.

The authority over the selection process, naturally, the alien invaders would not hand over to this mysterious hybrid monster, even though it was the one who proposed the plan.

However, the ”ugly” appearance of humans repulsed these alien invaders to the point of not wanting to handle it themselves, so they left it to the few survivors remaining after a millennium of experimentation.

Which were... the mysterious voices from various regions.

The first batch of survivors arrived.

The monster gave each of them a treehouse seed.

Though the technology of the treehouse seeds was from Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s team, the monster, as a participant, was also aware of this technology.

Reproducing this degraded world tree technology in treehouse seeds for the alien invaders was all too easy.

The reason for giving these things to the survivors was that by their abilities alone, they couldn’t survive on an Earth that was so perilous a millennium later.

Then, the selection of the first batch of survivors began.

The selection for the first batch of survivors was brutally stringent, barely one in ten thousand made it through.

Under these circumstances, even the best of the survivors could not sustain a population; there were too few numbers.

Hence, from the second batch of survivors, the selection became much more lenient.

Essentially, those who could not be brainwashed or were physically weak were eliminated, and after a simple competition, they could win the survival battle.

Then came the third and fourth batches, employing nearly the same measures.

The survivors from batches two, three, and four formed the foundational population for a human city in the other hemisphere of Earth.

The most outstanding survivors from the first batch became the founders and managers of this city.

These survivors were of an appropriate age, and after settling in the city, the alien invaders granted them autonomy and plenty of resources and food, thus the speed of reproduction was extraordinary, and the population of the human city began to soar.

And the selection and filtration of human genes have been ongoing.

...

”I own ten world trees and frequently follow the selection of survivors, and I’ve had contact with those war survivors who conduct the selection,” the monster said, ”So the most outstanding survivors have all been claimed by me.”

”The most outstanding survivors...” Shi Wanyun murmured to herself, then looked at it, ”Are they the people I saw at that world tree?”

”Exactly.” The monster nodded, ”That world tree is one of the ten world trees I own.”

”...So, you were the one who sent me to that world tree.”

”I... No, not me.” The monster shook its head, ”Your arrival was an accident.”

...

Fifty years into the plan, progress in human genetic research was unclear, and a new influx of blood was needed.

So the monster once again returned to the past and brought back the fifth batch of survivors.

It was at this moment that it sensed a disturbance in time and space.

It discovered that at that point in time, a large group of humans besides itself had also arrived in this time period.

It immediately thought of the long-lost inventors of the time machine from fifty years ago.

This situation must be related to them.

So it began to take action.

...

”So, you found us and mixed us among the survivors,” Xu Xin slightly frowned and said.

”Yes,” the monster said, ”You were transmitted over batch by batch, but the intervals between batches were short, basically just a few minutes, and you were all sent to one specific area, unconscious when you arrived.”

”You were transmitted to the wild, unaffected by the world trees, and they did not find you. Without me, you would likely remain undiscovered.”

The monster shifted its body, seemingly uncomfortable on the sofa: ”But I am sensitive to the disturbance in time and space and can detect where it’s occurring, so I found you.”

”I see...” Xu Ying murmured.

Transferring in batches, with intervals of a few minutes, does explain it well.

At that time, these people were sent from a thousand years ago, and although it took some effort to locate and send them from that time, the receiving time point was unaffected.

No matter when they were sent out, they all ended up at the same time point.
