Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1231 - 641: So That’s How We Became Survivors (2)

Xu Xin looked at Xu Ying, with a questioning expression in his eyes.

”At that time, our consideration was that strength is in numbers; sending you together would increase your chances of survival.”

Xu Ying said.

Then she pursed her lips.

”However, I don’t know much myself. We couldn’t do the thing of sending you to the future; it was done by those juniors. So, I basically don’t know what you were like back then, uh, and didn’t care too much, because... due to my brother’s modifications to my time machine, by the time I arrived, it was already years later...”

She had mentioned this before.

In that timeline, Xu Xin adjusted her time machine to arrive years later, allowing her to avoid significant involvement in world-changing actions at the time.

It was precisely because of this that she could live until now without being erased by the world.

”I have one question, why did you make us unconscious?” Xu Xin was puzzled, ”Why not explain it to us?”

”The unconsciousness was due to the biological chip implant, wasn’t it? After implanting the chip, you’d be unconscious for a long time,” Xu Ying explained, ”However, the juniors hurriedly sent you to the future, but did leave some information for you, not entirely leaving you in the dark.”

Saying this, Xu Ying glanced at the monster, ”It should be its doing, right?”

”It was me.” The monster’s two eyes on its cheeks opened.

”After half a day with no more people being sent over, I went to check on your situation. There was indeed some information left for you. Ordinary humans didn’t have it, but every member of your research team had a note detailing your current status. So, at that time, I understood the situation simply.”

”It was indeed you, then...” Xu Ying stared at it, gritting her teeth slightly, ”You’ve done a good deed, haven’t you!”

”At the time, I even thought about traveling back to find you. But I gave up, after all, I had been deeply rooted in this era for fifty years; this era provides me Earth humans and home planet humans able to fulfill all my needs. Moreover...”

It looked at Xu Ying: ”Since you chose to travel to the past, it indicates this era has already been influenced by you, for me at that time, it was already a good era, so eventually, I didn’t return to the past to interfere with you. Otherwise, my plans would be ruined by future changes.”

”Ha? I didn’t expect such a sentence to come from your mouth; how many times have you gone back to the past?” Xu Ying chuckled angrily, ”I wouldn’t dare go back to the past for fear of the world crumbling, yet you go back casually, each time bringing a bunch of people!”

”...The humans I brought back were those destined to certainly die in the invasion battle, having little chance to change the future.” The monster defended itself.

”Ha? How do you know they would certainly die... Ah! They were the ones illuminated by the red glow?”

”Yes. Among those humans, only a small part turned into Blood Pattern Giants, most died on the spot.”

Saying this, it looked at Shi Wanyun: ”You are among them. If I hadn’t done this, in another timeline, you would have either died or... turned into a Blood Pattern Giant.”

Shi Wanyun gently took a breath.

As it turns out, in that timeline, she was equivalent to being dead as soon as the extraterrestrial invaders invaded.

Compared to becoming a Blood Pattern Giant, she would rather believe she had died.

Thinking about turning into such a monster, she couldn’t help but shiver slightly.

”In any case, I discovered you, but you were just a group sent to the future due to being a hindrance, without any actual significance, and yet each of you was enhanced, so I directly let you participate in this survival game along with the other survivors.”

”Being a hindrance... isn’t wrong, it was indeed like that back then.” Xu Ying embarrassingly glanced secretly at Xu Xin beside her.

Initially, they indeed just wanted to go back to the past, to change the future world, without plans for anything millennium in the future.

Although their later plan included sending some people to the future, that was after failing in resistance.

For example, deployments of underground human bases, Crystal City, World Tree, these were preparations made later.

”But among those people, there was your mother!” Xu Ying glared at the monster in front of her, ”You really are ruthless, truly...”

Monster’s mixed blood.

She didn’t say this sentence out loud.

”She is not my mother.” The monster glanced outward, ”Her aura is completely different from my mother’s. Merely through appearance, I could barely recognize her, among so many sent to the future, finding her would be impossible.”

”...Truly a simple and brutal handling method.” Xu Xin shook his head.

The monster continued, ”Moreover, with the abilities bestowed upon you and the relatively special treehouse seeds in your hands, standing out in the selection is very easy. In fact, it proved to be the case, and... too conspicuous.”

It looked at the treehouse window: ”The interior of this World Tree is surprisingly vast, before entering with you, I couldn’t imagine it at all.”
