Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1218 - 637: The Plan to Cross Time and Space

”Um... so, Sister Gui Xin, actually, you are...” Xu Ying pointed at the monster, then made some random gestures with her hands, ”I mean... you get it, right?”

”I... I don’t get it!” Wen Guixin slowly turned her head, glaring at Xu Ying, ”Explain it clearly!”

Wen Guixin obviously already understood what Xu Ying and the monster were implying, but it was hard for her to believe such a thing.

Meanwhile, Xu Xin and Shi Wanyun both felt a sense of extreme unrealness.

There’s actually such a thing?!

But...

Apparently...

”I mean...” Xu Ying turned her head to look at the monster, then turned back to Wen Guixin, gritted her teeth, and pointed at the monster beside her, ”You’re its mom!”

Xu Ying’s words froze the scene for a moment.

It was so silent that a pin drop could be heard.

”What... What...” Wen Guixin reacted first, her face flushed, and she stared wide-eyed at the monster, ”I... really...”

”Of course not.” The monster’s only two open eyes rolled humanely, ”How... could you be my mother? My mother is the you from that time-space, she has already died.”

”Isn’t that the same thing!!” Wen Guixin suddenly stood up, ”I...”

”You are not her, and she is not you,” the monster said to Wen Guixin, ”but still, you are the Earth human I find most pleasing to look at.”

This is indeed shocking...

Wen Guixin stared blankly at it, then suddenly shook her head and sat back down: ”As if it’s that simple, the genes haven’t changed... half of your genes are mine, aren’t they...”

”Um... Sister Gui Xin, you can think of it as having half of your genes... a clone.” Xu Ying gestured, ”Having the same genes can’t explain anything, you didn’t experience that kind of thing.”

”What kind of thing?” Wen Guixin turned her head to look at Xu Ying.

”Well... that kind of thing.” Xu Ying smiled awkwardly, ”The kind of thing you imagine.”

”I...” Wen Guixin took a deep breath, then shivered, a fearful expression appearing on her face, ”Oh my god... I, I, I... this is too... ah!”

Then she suddenly slapped her leg, a look of realization appeared on her face, and she let out a bitter laugh: ”Ha... no wonder, no wonder my ability is so strange...”

Wen Guixin’s ability is to infect any creature she touches with a mental toxin, allowing her to control them until they die.

Even now, she cannot fully control this ability.

Though she can forcefully contain the toxin and interact with others, a single mistake could still cause issues, so she still needs to maintain a proper distance from others.

She’s complained more than once about this ability, which is strong in group battles but extremely inconvenient in daily life.

But thinking about it now...

This might have been the greatest gift from herself in that time-space.

Having once fallen into an abyss and witnessed the defense in that time-space, Wen Guixin didn’t want another version of herself from a different time-space to follow the same path and let that happen again!

She wanted to give her other self an ability that prevents any creature from coming into contact!

”So she gave me this kind of ability...”

Wen Guixin looked at her palm, not knowing what to say.

She hadn’t experienced those things, couldn’t truly imagine what kind of despair she had endured in that time-space.

But to give her such an indiscriminate ability, her other self must have had a profound obsession with protecting her.

Thinking about everything her other self experienced, Wen Guixin felt a heart-wrenching pain.

Having gone through the apocalypse and forced into such depraved experiments.

Being finally released only to join a resistance group, which was then shattered by the abomination she birthed. At that time, she might even have been ostracized by the members...

And later, despite having endured humiliation, managed to invent a time machine capable of changing the past and altering everything, yet due to unfamiliarity with the laws of the world, she nearly caused the collapse of the entire time-space.

Even she herself was about to be dissolved along with the collapse of time-space.

What a tragic and failed life...

Perhaps, Wen Guixin from that time-space placed all her hopes and dreams for a better life on the current Wen Guixin.

So, she gave her such a powerful ability that prohibits any creature from touching her.

”Hmm... your ability is the strongest among us, but also... the most dangerous.”

Xu Ying looked at Wen Guixin, her eyes full of pity. Of course, she pitied not the Wen Guixin before her but the Wen Guixin from that time-space.

”Sister Gui Xin... during our research on the time machine, she was constantly studying this ability and had conducted countless experiments on herself, her body already... If not for Sister Xuefei and a group of medics using endless surgeries and various drugs to keep her alive, she might not have lived to see us successfully develop the time machine.”

”When she knew we were researching the time machine to go back in time, she was already preparing this ability for you, you are her second life, she doesn’t want you to end up like her.”
