Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1227 - 640: Complete Enslavement of Humanity

The sight of an entire wall filled with capsules, each containing a monster, was something Xu Xin and Xu Ying had seen in Shi Wanyun’s memories.

But back then, it was just a fleeting memory, and Xu Xin didn’t pay much attention to it.

Xu Ying, having encountered this half-human half-monster in that timeline, mistakenly thought that creating half-human half-monsters was a normal scientific plan of the alien invaders.

Plus, the World Tree itself was a genetic factory, so she didn’t pay much attention to it, thinking it was a normal occurrence.

But unexpectedly, this was anything but normal!

It was created by this guy in front of them!

”You are clearly the biggest victim of this plan, so why would you do such a thing!” Xu Ying said angrily.

Just now, the things this monster said had somewhat improved her impression because in another timeline, this kind persona of the monster had indeed helped them a lot.

But now it’s doing this kind of thing again!

”Wait, those survivors... you took people from the past to this era batch by batch. Is it because you wanted them to complete your research? Did you... have more people become like Sister Gui Xin...!”

Xu Xin and Shi Wanyun both frowned deeply.

”I didn’t.”

As Xu Ying’s anger was about to explode, the monster immediately denied Xu Ying’s assumption, and the eyes on its body trembled slightly.

”Of course, I could never do such a thing. Although I didn’t know my mother had such a painful experience, I still have half-human blood in me. I couldn’t treat humans purely as test subjects.”

”Then you...” Xu Ying’s expression softened slightly.

From her dealings with this persona of the monster, it should know about such things.

”Pure genetic experiments.”

The eyes all over the monster’s body slowly closed as it explained: ”Or maybe it should be called... capsule life. By extracting various superior genes from different humans on Earth and combining them with the genes of people from my mother planet, selecting the most compatible genes, and repeatedly experimenting. In any case, I didn’t treat those survivors as test subjects.”

Not using a gestational form...

That’s somewhat acceptable.

”Do you have such technology?” Xu Ying raised an objection. ”In the other timeline, the reason you adopted the form of gestational life is because you couldn’t cultivate embryos outside of the body, right?”

”As you said, that was in another timeline.” The black muscles on the monster’s body pulsated again. ”In this timeline, their initial intentions didn’t change, and there were situations where many human females from Earth were used for experiments, but... it didn’t succeed.”

Did not succeed...

Xu Xin subconsciously glanced out the window, looking in the direction Wen Guixin had gone.

Because the one who could make the experiment succeed had long been sent to the future.

”My mother, she is a special existence.” The eyes on the monster’s face also closed. ”In the past of this timeline where she didn’t exist, the scientists went through countless experiments, but none succeeded, so they abandoned this direction.”

The three fell silent.

It’s hard to imagine how many people suffered before this failed experiment was abandoned.

Even so, the survivors still view the alien invaders as superior beings, worshipping them as gods.

Because they had long been brainwashed.

This is truly ironic.

...

Although the alien invaders abandoned the plan of using human gestation to create life, they still didn’t give up on the plan to seize human brains. Thus, they continued their research on cultivating embryos outside of the body.

This research lasted until the eight-hundredth year of the invasion war.

The research never made any progress and drastically reduced the number of survivors.

This timeline lacked the rebellion organization like the one formed by Xu Xin and Xu Ying in that collapsing timeline.

In that broken timeline, Xu Xin and Xu Ying managed to form an organization because some of the survivors were resistant to the brainwashing of the alien invaders.

Those who hadn’t been successfully brainwashed banded together to form a resistance organization.

But in this timeline, those who had resistance to brainwashing had collectively been sent to the future even before the invasion war began.

Simply put, in that timeline, among the survivors, maybe 5% had resistance to alien invader brainwashing. This 5% banded together to form a resistance organization.

But now, this 5% was sent to the future, and the remaining survivors consisted of 95% who could be brainwashed.

The alien invaders required a certain number of survivors. The missing 5% would, of course, be replaced by others.

Thus, among those newly added people, 5% could also have resistance, but looking at the overall numbers, that’s 5% of 5%, which is only 0.25% of the total population having resistance.

In other words, due to the actions of the resistance organization in another timeline, the number of people with brainwashing resistance among this timeline’s survivors greatly decreased.

Admittedly, calculating numbers this way is somewhat presumptuous, but even when considering the impact of other factors, the number of people with resistance among this group of survivors is much lower than in that timeline.

This way, there are simply too few people who can escape brainwashing, making it impossible to form any momentum.
