Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1226 - 639: Creating a New Race (Part 3)

500:1?

”Five hundred tons of clear white crystal can be converted into one ton of red crystal?”

”Yes.” The creature nodded, ”But even so, Earth is still currently the first planet they’ve discovered in outer space that has the raw materials to produce their Source of Life. Based on the deposits they have already identified, full extraction could at least allow their species to continue for tens of thousands of years.”

Tens of thousands of years...

Sounds like a lot, but for the continuation of a species, it’s very short.

The ancestors of humans, Homo sapiens, have existed for 250,000 years, and tracing further back to ancient apes, it would be even longer.

In the long river of Earth’s billions of years of life evolution, ten thousand years is just a moment.

Not to mention that this group of alien invaders has already explored space for twenty thousand years.

”Though tens of thousands of years isn’t much, it can at least alleviate the increasingly strained resources on their home planet and stabilize their mentality. Moreover, this is just the proven reserves; there are many unexplored areas. For example...”

The creature looked at Xu Ying: ”Such as the undersea underground regions where Earth’s humans currently reside.”

”Ah!” Xu Ying covered her mouth and then looked at the creature with a slight change in her eyes, ”So it was you. Only you discovered it.”

”Yes, only me, because I have no fear of the ocean. Only I can survive long-term in the damp areas near the ocean.” The creature admitted.

”Hmph, once you finish what you want to say, I have many things to ask you.” Xu Ying’s voice turned slightly cold at the thought of her experiences in the underground world.

”I will speak without reservation,” the creature said. ”In short, this is their main objective for colonizing this planet. To them, for those surviving on their home planet, Earth is merely a harsh mining site and an experimental ground. So, of course, they aren’t increasing the number of colonizers.”

I see...

”The red crystal they use now is sent from their home planet. It’s a crystal about the size of this treehouse space.”

The creature extended its somewhat twisted hand and pointed downward, then stated the purpose of its visit: ”I know the current location of that crystal. I want to collaborate with you because I want to use your strength... to destroy that crystal.”

A flash of surprise flickered in the eyes of Xu Xin and the other two.

But the three remained silent, watching the creature, wanting to hear what it had to say.

”Because of Earth’s strategic importance, that crystal is condensed from almost all the backup resources of their home planet, which could allow them to survive here for at least a few thousand years. This is also why they only need to absorb a little to meet their daily needs.”

”At the same time, between Earth and their home planet, enormous resources were spent to establish a one-way channel to transport materials from Earth to their home planet, but no channel was established to transport resources from their home planet to Earth. Sending resources from their home planet to Earth is extremely difficult and still requires crossing the sea of stars.”

Xu Xin took a deep breath.

He understood what the alien invader wanted to convey.

He spoke, ”You mean, as long as we destroy that red crystal... the alien invaders will lose their Source of Life and have no choice but to... leave Earth.”

”Yes, that’s what I mean.” The creature nodded.

The scene fell silent once.

The information is somewhat hard to digest.

It even feels somewhat unreal.

Xu Xin held back a lot of questions he wanted to ask, but first...

”This... is too important; we’ll talk about it last. For now, I want to confirm why you want to ally with us and also want to drive away those invaders.” He asked, ”Because of what? If I am not mistaken, you’ve been one of them in this time and space, otherwise...”

Xu Xin glanced at Shi Wanyun: ”Otherwise, you wouldn’t have sent her to find an opportunity to kill me. So why do you want to drive them away?”

”...I’m not one of them, I only collaborated with them to realize my experiment.”

The creature slowly began to explain.

”Now that my experiment has been discovered by them and they destroyed it, I have no reason to continue collaborating with them.”

”Your experiment?” Xu Xin squinted slightly, sensing something off, ”What kind of experiment?”

”An experiment to create a completely new biological species,” the creature’s eyes on its body opened wide without realizing it, ”I want to create a... species that can accept me.”

...What?

”A species that can accept you is...” Xu Xin vaguely guessed something but found it hard to believe.

”A half-Earth human, half-home planet human species,” the creature stated bluntly.

As it spoke, the eyes on its body opened wide, revealing its somewhat agitated emotions.

”You were actually conducting such an experiment!” Xu Ying suddenly stood up, incredulous and somewhat angry, ”You are still continuing this experiment! You...”

”Ah!” Shi Wanyun suddenly screamed, interrupting Xu Ying.

She looked at the creature in shock, her lips moving slightly before finally speaking: ”The capsules in house number five in your World Tree, filled the walls...”

Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s pupils shrank sharply.

That scene, they had both seen in Shi Wanyun’s memory.

The capsules hanging on that wall, filled with half-human, half-creature beings!
