Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1235 - 642: How Do You Want to Collaborate_3

No matter how well you hide, you can’t stop this kind of almost-tearing-the-mask-off carpet search.

They even managed to find those alien invaders it had kidnapped.

...

”That’s how it is, so I came to you guys.” the monster said. ”All of this actually happened in the half hour before I shot the pterosaur down. I sensed things were going south and teleported straight here.”

Its story was finished.

It pulled out a cup from who-knows-where and poured two gulps of some unknown liquid into its split-open mouth, just like someone wetting their throat after telling a long story.

Its every move now, including the way it spoke, was almost indistinguishable from a human’s.

”I see...”

Xu Xin thought for a moment.

From the timeline, there wasn’t any hole in what this monster was saying.

Even though they had already spent several months in the World Tree, in reality, counting from when the World Tree matured, less than two days had passed outside.

”You’re not going to give up on your experiments, are you.” Xu Ying looked at its face, where eyes would open in different places from time to time. ”I’m guessing that even now, you’re carrying those... almost-finished experimental subjects on you.”

”...I can help you drive those alien invaders off this planet.”

The monster was changing the subject.

”Alright, alright. Since you didn’t let any humans suffer that kind of extreme horror, I don’t have much to say.” Xu Ying waved her hand.

She had also seen Shi Wanyun’s memories. Although the humans there had all undergone genetic modification and had been deceived, it had to be said...

They hadn’t been treated inhumanly; in fact, everyone was very proud.

And objectively speaking, the gene modifications had indeed made them stronger and extended their lifespans.

Even if their appearances had gotten a bit strange.

”Not only did I not treat those humans that way, I even brought them all out ahead of time.” The monster looked at the three in front of it. ”I brought my experimental subjects out together with them.”

Shi Wanyun was instantly shocked. ”They’re on you right now? In your... space?”

The woman whose neck could stretch.

The birdman with wings and talons.

The witch whose hair was alive like Medusa’s.

And No. 5, who had placed his hopes on Shi Wanyun.

”Yes. If I left them there, they would only die. They provided genes for my experiments, after all, and they’ve always worked for me and worshiped me, so... I brought them out. I figured, as fellow humans, you might have use for them. Want me to let them out now?”

The monster lifted its twisted hand.

”No, not now.”

Xu Xin waved his hand.

Though this did count as... a good thing, in a way.

Those people had been brainwashed, but they still had the ability to be deprogrammed.

Qi Xuefei’s pill replication was also almost done.

These people were all from the earliest waves of survivors!

This was a truly unexpected gain.

”Alright then.” The monster lowered its arm. ”You should be able to feel my sincerity by now. What I mean is... completely driving those invaders away. I have a method. If we work together, we really have a shot.”

It even directly called them ”invaders.”

”Your method... is what you mentioned before, destroying that red crystal?” Xu Ying asked.

”Yes, that’s my method. Once we destroy that concentrated crystal sent from their homeworld, they’ll have no choice but to leave. Otherwise, all that awaits them is death.”

”Then... tell us the details about that crystal. And how you want to cooperate—what exactly do we need to do.”
