Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1247 - 646: Sustained Development (Part 3)

This miniature type seems to be... portable.

Although the small missile can hold much less ammunition, if it’s nuclear, the power is still impressive.

If one day they really have to infiltrate the other side of Earth to destroy that crimson crystal, this kind of missile might be of great help!

”You haven’t rested today, have you? Get some sleep early. Stop staying awake on the purple-grade oranges; those aren’t good for your health.” Xu Xin stood up.

Oranges above blue-grade are used to invigorate the mind by overdrafting life. They had long informed all the survivors inside the World Tree about this, and these people basically do not consume blue-grade fruits anymore.

The harm to lifespan from purple-grade and higher fruits is much lesser, plus resource abundance inside the World Tree makes purple-grade the first choice for everyone.

But they can’t eat them frequently. Although they grant some remarkable abilities temporarily, they still affect longevity.

”Don’t worry, Brother Xin; I’ve injected with the gene serum, so my life is long. Crafting weapons is more urgent.”

Ma Hongwei was unmoved and turned back to continue his research.

Xu Xin shook his head helplessly and stopped disturbing him, coming down from the treehouse.

”Ah—”

In the distance, Winged Dragon Huihui was gliding rapidly toward them.

Seconds later, it landed beside Xu Xin, rubbing its large head against him.

”Snort!”

Keke, who was lying on Huihui’s head, jumped down and onto Xu Xin’s shoulder.

”Had enough fun?” Xu Xin rubbed Keke’s little head.

”Snort!”

This little guy has been running out frequently to play with Huihui lately.

And the injuries Huihui sustained last time have fully healed, leaving no trace.

”I’m going back, I’ll see you next time.”

”Ah!”

Xu Xin brought Keke to a set of coordinates.

He reached out and touched the coordinates, and a purple-black vortex gathered, forming a portal.

Xu Xin stepped inside.

After a dizzying spin, he appeared at the very edge of the internal world of the World Tree.

Endless wooden walls represented the world’s boundary.

And here, there were three treehouses, each three-story, with a single-story area exceeding two hundred square meters.

Very large treehouses.

”Xu Xin, is there something you need?”

A window on one of the treehouses opened.

A monster’s ugly head, covered in eyes, appeared within the window frame.

Because there were no other people around, the monster didn’t just open the two eyes on its face this time but revealed them all.

The eyes didn’t blink simultaneously, but blinked consecutively from left to right, making the eyes on its upper body exposed through the window move like wave surges.

This made Xu Xin slightly uncomfortable, with a slight twitch in the corner of his eye.

”Snort...” Keke shrank back its little head directly, closing its eyes.

”I heard your experiment is about to succeed.”

Xu Xin looked at the monster and said.

”Why, are you trying to stop my experiment?” The monster’s bizarre voice slightly deepened.

”Of course not. I’m just a bit curious about the degree of progress in your experiment. Are you really going to create a species?”

The monster lived in the most marginal area, crucially to continue its experiment here.

This was also one of the conditions Xu Xin and Xu Ying agreed to with it.

In the World Tree with a hundredfold time flow rate, they gave it an area to continue its experiment, in exchange, it wouldn’t act against the humans inside the World Tree.

”...Creating a species is exceedingly difficult.”

The monster disappeared from the window frame, then a purple-black vortex instantly appeared in front of Xu Xin, and the monster emerged from it.

Almost instantly appearing before Xu Xin.

”Snort!” Keke was startled, immediately clinging behind Xu Xin, peeking at the monster with a half-exposed head.

The monster didn’t mind Keke and continued, ”However, although very difficult, I’ve taken the first step. I awakened one of them.”

”It possesses a clear consciousness, but unfortunately... like me, it cannot reproduce descendants.”

Xu Xin was immediately surprised, ”Already one has come to life?”

He glanced at the three treehouses, ”In the treehouse?”

”Yes, already asleep.” The monster’s mouth cracked open, seeming to smile, ”My first kin is in good condition.”

...It actually succeeded!

”Impressive.” Xu Xin sincerely praised, then said, ”I won’t check. I came to tell you that the Stone Creatures are about to arrive. What do you plan to do?”

It controls the Stone Creatures.

”I will transfer the command of the Stone Creatures to you.” The monster immediately said, ”This is my first gift to you.”

Xu Xin smiled faintly.

Looks like no persuasion is needed.
