Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1232 - 641: So This Is How We Became Survivors (Part 3)

Its hoarse and strange voice carried an emotion of amazement.

”Your actions have been so outstanding that they’ve even caught their attention, which troubles me a bit. And at this moment...”

The creature looked at Shi Wanyun: ”She suddenly came to my World Tree. When No. 5 reported this to me, I thought, perhaps she could... go and kill your leader. Of course, it was just a simple attempt, not a significant plan.”

Shi Wanyun slightly turned her head, averting her gaze. She recalled the scene at that moment.

So that’s how it was...

”Wait a minute, were you the one who sent her to the Underground Crystal City? How did you discover that place?” Xu Ying asked.

”Do you think, after finding so many people sent here from a thousand years ago in that area, I wouldn’t check the surroundings and the underground?” the creature retorted.

Xu Ying was at a loss for words.

”Fifty years ago, I already found that place. At that time, the entire underground city was wrapped in stone; I didn’t feel anything unusual, although I kept it in mind, I didn’t do anything, probably because... I too was waiting eagerly, wanting to see what you all could do.”

The creature cracked a self-mocking smile, then looked at Xu Xin and said, ”Do you remember how you found that Crystal City?”

”...Back then, that giant bug dug a big hole in the ground, and from that hole, I saw my statue,” Xu Xin paused for a moment, ”Are you saying it was you...”

”I chose the location for that bug,” the creature’s eyes on its body opened and closed, ”I guided it to let you find the Crystal City.”

...Was that really the case?

”No wonder you let me wait for him in that underground city.” Shi Wanyun realized slightly.

”That’s right, I...”

”Hold on, I have a question.” Xu Xin suddenly interrupted it.

There was a piece of information in its previous words that caught his attention.

”Is this the place where all of us were located after being sent here from a thousand years ago?”

Wasn’t this right around his treehouse?

Before his treehouse was transplanted, it was less than three kilometers from Crystal City.

”Exactly here,” the creature replied, ”Putting you, who were sent here, scattered in Area 188 and nearby areas, that’s why.”

No wonder the team members were basically in the same or adjacent areas.

The initial members of the explorers were in Area 188, and Zeng Tao and Qin Fu, and others were in Area 187.

All nearby.

”If that is the case...”

Xu Xin thought about that lake.

His treehouse was planted by the lake.

What was in the lake?

Lake Giant Python.

And this gigantic beast, according to Xu Ying, was likely left by Xu Xin of that time.

...A giant beast left by Xu Xin from that time, surrounding the area where people appeared.

Looking at it this way...

The Lake Giant Python was likely...

Left by Xu Xin of that time, tasked with protecting this group of people!

Perhaps, he told that python that at this point in time, a large group of people would appear here and to protect them!

That is why it stayed here!

If the giant python was left by Xu Xin of that time, there’s no reason it wouldn’t recognize the current Xu Xin.

That’s why it never attacked Xu Xin and even always did things to help him!

Is that so?

If it really is like that, the previous protective actions of the giant python would seem to make sense!

”...When you found us and took us away, did you encounter anything?” Xu Xin asked the creature, ”Like did a colossal python emerge from the lake?”

”Yes, that giant python in the lake, it even tried to attack me.”

The creature’s words made Xu Xin’s eyes light up.

The creature twisted its overly slender neck: ”However, I didn’t pay much attention at that time, just a giant beast, nothing rare. After I quickly gathered you, I teleported away directly. Come to think of it, you should probably thank me. If it weren’t for me, you might have been crushed to death by that giant python.”

...

It really was the case!

But...

There’s still something strange.

Why does the giant python appear as hostile on his map?
