Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1219 - 637: Plan Across Time and Space (2)

Xu Ying’s words made Wen Guixin clench her fist, remaining silent for a long time, before saying, ”You can’t stop her, can you...”

”We can only provide her with help. We all know what she’s been through. If we disagree, she’d still conduct her research. But without pharmaceutical support, her kind of self-destructive research wouldn’t last long,” Xu Ying said softly.

”...Does she only experiment on herself?” Shi Wanyun suddenly asked, ”Why?”

”Why... because she is the sacrifice of the experiment.”

These words were spoken by Wen Guixin, not Xu Ying.

”Hmm...” Xu Ying bit her lip, ”Even lab rats she doesn’t want to use, because that reminds her of her own past... Additionally, the initial intention of developing this technology was meant to be for her untainted past self, so using her own body for experimentation is most fitting.”

”Moreover... although her physical condition was extremely poor at that time, her abilities were akin to yours now,” Xu Ying said to Wen Guixin, ”No, they were much stronger than yours now. Back then, she could even add mental toxins to remote weapons and infect a high-level mutant creature with just one bullet.”

”This...” Even amidst complex emotions, Wen Guixin was shocked by these words, ”So strong...”

Her current abilities have improved significantly since she first acquired them, but she can only instantly infect intermediate mutant creatures up close; she hasn’t faced high-level mutants, but feels it would take some time to infiltrate.

But to use this ability remotely, she can’t do it now at all.

”At that time, high-level mutant creatures roamed everywhere in the world, which you should all know about. Her ability during the time our organization began its total relocation away from relying on alien invaders helped us immensely; the whole organization relocated almost unharmed.”

Xu Ying explained: ”So even for the sake of the organization and our team, we must support this project all the way. The killing power of this ability is just too strong.”

Xu Xin couldn’t help but gasp silently.

This ability can be used remotely and infects instantly...

It’s practically invincible!

To any creature, it’s basically instant death, and the toxin can spread quickly!

One bullet, solving an entire... high-level mutant creature army?

That’s terrifying...

”And the technology used on you is actually gradual. Your abilities will eventually reach her level one day and can be controlled freely, and you won’t suffer the deep-rooted damage she has, whether physical or psychological. By then, you can choose the life you want. This is Sister Gui Xin’s plan.”

”Moreover, the implementation of her experiment and plan benefits our entire organization. Her abilities can strongly protect our organization and team, leaving us with no choice but to support her plan.”

Wen Guixin reminisced about everything she experienced here and couldn’t help but sigh, ”Her plan was perfect and indeed... succeeded.”

If not for this ability, she might not have survived the wave of survivor elimination, let alone having everything now.

”How did she die?” Wen Guixin looked at Xu Ying and asked.

”...She couldn’t send you away herself, as neither of you can exist in the same time space. However, even without her presence, her experiment still successfully completed on you and sent you to the future. And she went back to the past world after you left, rediscovering the peace of that world and the impending crisis...”

Xu Ying’s eyes dimmed, ”She just couldn’t hold out anymore. Her body was sustained forcefully by drugs and willpower; living to that point was already a miracle.”

”Didn’t alien technology help?” Wen Guixin instinctively asked, a bit urgent in tone.

”No.” Xu Ying glanced at the creature, then shook her head, ”Though alien medicine is strong and brought us great medical technology, it’s useless. The bodily structures of humans and invaders are completely different, and their medicine is useless to us.”

”So after entrusting everything to us, she just...”

A silence ensued.

”Turns out, in the end, she was like this...” The creature’s eyes slowly opened all over its body, seemingly unable to control its emotions.

Then it shut its eyes all over again and looked at Wen Guixin.

”You are not my mother, my age is much older than yours. But, you and I share half the same genes, so I can be your brother.”

Wen Guixin looked at the creature with complicated eyes.

From a physiological perspective, she should refuse; no matter how the creature tries to adapt, it’s hard to ignore the visceral disgust and aversion.

But... this creature genuinely wants to help the self in that time space.

If not for the technology it brought, the plan of the self in that time space might not have been completed.
