Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 350: Chapter 280 Changes at the Bottom of the Lake - Copper Mine!

”Keke, wait for me by the lakeside, I’m going down to take a look.”

”Ying!” Keke responded, jumping off his shoulder and crouching on a rock by the lake.

At this moment, the lake water was very calm, a gentle breeze swept across, causing faint ripples on the surface.

There were no fish swimming in the lake anymore, even the lotus, reeds, and other plants that once grew at the lakeside had withered away, leaving the whole lake in an extremely desolate state.

No one knew if this lake would be completely frozen by tomorrow.

The lake water was very clear, Xu Xin looked towards the center of the lake, the bottomless heart of the lake remained pitch black, like a dead lake, which instilled fear just by looking at it.

Xu Xin took out a watergrass (blue), ate it and gained the ability to breathe underwater, then consumed a red large berry (blue) that allowed him to see things clearly in the dark, inhaled deeply, and plunged into the lake.

The icy lake water instantly soaked his whole body, causing him to shiver.

This lake water is so cold! It’s almost zero degrees!

The Scale Armor wasn’t a sealed suit, and the water seeped through its seams, chilling his whole body to the bone.

So cold!

The Scale Armor couldn’t even block the cold of the water!

He has to speed up or else, at this temperature, his hands and feet will soon become numb and frozen stiff.

Xu Xin opened his eyes and scanned the shallow water area.

There’s indeed not a single fish left in the lake, even the usual watergrass at the bottom disappeared, leaving only cobblestones and gravel scattered at the bottom.

Compared to the previous lake, the lake now felt incredibly bleak.

Without pausing, Xu Xin continued swimming towards the center of the lake.

Within a few seconds, he reached the edge of the giant hole at the center of the lake.

Huh?

Xu Xin noticed something was amiss.

The bottomless hole at the lake center seemed... slightly larger?

The last time he went down, the steep dropping point at the edge of the lake bottom pit was about thirty meters from the shore, meaning the shallow water zone was around thirty meters.

But now...

Looking at the newly appeared giant pit at the lake center, Xu Xin turned to look behind him.

The distance from here to the shore was at most only twenty meters... no, less than twenty meters!

...Could the giant hole at the center of the lake be expanding by itself?!

Xu Xin’s heart tightened sharply.

What is going on?

After experiencing the giant’s head salt mine event, he became highly sensitive to terrains that could change by themselves.

This giant hole, could it be alive too?

A giant beast’s mouth?

Oh my... feeling a bit scared to go down...

No, no, it shouldn’t be possible...

This is just a hole, judging from its appearance, it’s completely unlike a mouth, entirely unrelated to the giant’s head.

But...

Xu Xin pressed his lips together. This lake is truly fraught with danger.

Initially choosing to plant a treehouse here provided him with plenty of convenience, but dangers followed one after another.

If the giant hole really continues to expand...

His treehouse was less than two hundred meters from the lakeside, very close, if the lake faces problems, his treehouse might not escape either.

Could he have remembered wrongly?

No, the distance definitely shortened, the giant hole indeed expanded!

Forget it, let’s not dwell on it now, focus on the tasks at hand, Keke said there’s no danger in the hole, Xu Xin still trusts it.

He focused intently on this deep abyssal hole.

At approximately twenty meters deep, blue-level watergrass grew out again, swaying on the cave walls with the water flow.

From the direction the watergrass swayed, it could be seen that the water within the giant hole in the lake center was slowly rotating clockwise, like a giant whirlpool.

However, due to the slow speed, without the movement of the watergrass, one might not notice the flow with the naked eye.

At around forty meters deep, those dark green minerals still appeared on the cave walls.

However, unlike last time, those peculiar large fish that seemed aggressive drifting at depths of fifty to sixty meters were now entirely absent, completely vanished.

The blue-level fish bladder he consumed was obtained from these fish, granting him stronger resistance to water pressure, allowing him to descend and extract those green metal ores.

Xu Xin carefully examined the rock wall below, fearing these fish that blended well with the surrounding rock wall might now be sticking to the cave walls, merging with them, thus remaining unnoticed.

After prolonged observation, he properly confirmed that indeed not even a single large fish was left in the hole at this moment.

Having confirmed there was no danger in the cave, Xu Xin continued to slowly descend, reaching about twenty meters deep, harvesting blue-level watergrass again and gaining fourteen stalks, enriching his inventory.

He continued his descent and soon approached those green-colored minerals.

Most of these minerals were green-level, with only a few scattered ones emitting a blue glow.

Xu Xin already felt his body reacting abnormally, both his body and ears could barely withstand the water pressure here.

Forty meters huh...

This was probably his limit.

Compared to Qin Yunlong who could dive below one hundred meters for exploration ages ago, his diving capabilities were indeed frustrating.

But it sufficed, at least he could collect these ores.
