Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 326: Chapter 269: Lou Fei’Er’s Acting, The Deceived Ma Hongwei (4500 words!)_2

”Is that so...” Xu Xin pondered.

He thought of the person to the south of his treehouse: Le Youfang.

Their initial interactions were quite pleasant, but now things aren’t so pleasant anymore.

Xu Xin has never gone to his side, partly because he thought his strength was quite average, and the ordinary survivors in Zone 187 didn’t know about the regional confrontation. Plus, he’s been busy lately, so he’s put it off for now.

Now it seems the two have become overt enemies; it looks like it needs to be addressed promptly.

”There are only over seven hundred people left in Zone 187 now,” Lou Fei’Er swiped open her watch and held it out in front for Xu Xin to see, ”Look. Zhang Daoguang is probably anxious because of this, urging everyone not to have internal strife, and to kill on sight any outsiders from other zones without mercy.”

Xu Xin glanced at it, indeed, after the defensive battle ended, the total number of people in Zone 187, which was originally over 800, now stands at only 746.

Dozens dead? So many?

Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang contributed their share to this.

He killed Ma Hongyu, while Ji Chaoyang captured a woman, adding one to Zone 188.

In addition to these, there was Lou Fei’Er behind him, who should now belong to both Zones 187 and 188.

”Other survivors in Zone 187 are somewhat panicked due to the declining numbers in the regional channel; Zhang Daoguang’s words informed them of the reason,” Lou Fei’Er retracted her left hand and tapped the regional channel twice, browsing as she spoke, ”Now, these hundreds of people in Zone 187 appear extremely united on the surface, sharing common hostility and having a strong aversion to outsiders.”

It seems their emotions have been stirred by Zhang Daoguang.

Xu Xin has also been checking the regional channel of Zone 188 from time to time these past few days.

In their zone, there hasn’t been a continued decrease in numbers.

Nowadays, almost everyone bought a heavy crossbow from [Explorers], and with the cold outside, few venture out. Even if they fall ill due to low temperatures, they have Qi Xuefei to rely on, so the total numbers haven’t decreased in these past few days.

In fact, the number has increased by a few.

Because on his side, as well as Qin Yunlong brothers and Wen Guixin’s side, they captured people from outside zones.

Moreover, the fruits and vegetables planted inside the treehouse have mostly matured, and everyone’s food supply has become ample. The situation in the regional channel is excellent, and everyone is quite optimistic about the future.

”By the way, I asked you to probe the top ten in Zone 187, any findings?” Xu Xin tilted his head slightly and asked.

”Ah this...” Lou Fei’Er shrunk her head in response.

She didn’t dare admit to slacking off, only able to defend herself by saying, ”I didn’t know how to probe, so I just asked openly in the regional channel if anyone had seen light spots during the rainy season. Some people did respond, but their ranks weren’t high...”

”What’s the highest rank among them?”

”The highest is someone named Le Youfang, who previously ranked above two hundred in activities.”

Le Youfang? His ranking is quite high?

But indeed, if his ranking wasn’t high, he couldn’t be among the more than eight hundred survivors.

”Didn’t you ask each of the top ten individually?”

”...No, I don’t want to interact with them.”

”No one will constantly monitor the regional channel. Even if they see your question, they may not respond. Today, ask each one, saying you’re looking for nearby companions.”

”Alright...” Lou Fei’Er reluctantly agreed.

”Keke!” Keke in Xu Xin’s arms suddenly called out, reminding Xu Xin that they were very close to Ma Hongwei’s treehouse now.

The two were only a few hundred meters from that three-layered blue-level treehouse.

”Let’s go directly, Silver King.”

”Ow!” Silver King initially wanted to stop because Xu Xin didn’t let it approach last time. With Xu Xin’s permission now, it sped up again, charging forward.

In tens of seconds, they emerged from the bleak forest, a hundred meters ahead was Ma Hongwei’s treehouse.

Mimi had been following closely behind Silver King, traversing the forest with it, but now it was visibly fatigued, lying flat once it halted, its chest heaving.

Afu flapped its wings and flew up from Mimi’s body.

While the distance wasn’t far for Silver King, it was over ten kilometers. For Mimi, running continuously for such a distance was still too much.

”Seems it’s too far for you. Yesterday, we ran farther than today. You know why I didn’t bring you yesterday,” Xu Xin dismounted the wolf and glanced at the lying Mimi.

Mimi feebly gave a cry, continuing to lie motionless.

”His crossbows, there are so many.” Lou Fei’Er studied the treehouse ahead, subtly adjusted her facial muscles, instantly transforming into a cold radiant big sister.

”Keke...” Keke stared dumbly at her, puzzled about her sudden change.

The treehouse was bristling with crossbows, making it rather chilling to look at. This time there were more than a dozen additional crossbows compared to last time; the whole treehouse now resembled a porcupine-like fortress.

Very dangerous!

This distance is fine, but moving closer, if Ma Hongwei suddenly attacked them, even if they could escape, they’d still lose something.

This distance, his hearing enhancement today could already pick up the crunching sounds inside the treehouse, not sure what Ma Hongwei is doing in there.
