Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 331: Chapter 271: Success Leads to Firepower Coverage! _2

On the second floor, apart from a control panel at each of the four windows, it’s just an ordinary living area. Xu Xin walked up to one of the panels and swiped it twice with his hand.

The panel was not activated.

It seemed he couldn’t manipulate this panel. However, once this treehouse became his parasitic treehouse, this panel would also be transplanted over. By then, he could operate it as he pleased.

After taking another look on the second floor and confirming there was nothing else, he headed to the third floor.

The third floor was where Ma Hongwei had just made some noise.

He had just reached the third floor when the scene before him left him stunned.

Parts scattered all over the floor, wooden strips of various shapes, and an array of tools he had never seen occupied the entire space.

The wind blew through the window, and the swirling wood chips went straight into his mouth.

”Puh! Puh!” Xu Xin spat twice, ejecting the wood chips from his mouth and frowned.

This was just too messy.

He noticed a functional area sign hanging on the far wall and walked over to see the words clearly.

Xu Xin’s eyes gradually widened.

”...External Weapons Research Lab?!”

Just from the name, one could tell what this room was for.

This Ma Hongwei, not only could he make control panels for external treehouse weapons, but he could also research new external treehouse weapons?!

If he could research weapons, then...

”Are there any new weapons already completed...”

He immediately began searching through the wooden debris and parts for a complete weapon.

On the floor, amidst the wooden fragments and parts, there was a half-assembled treehouse heavy crossbow.

Xu Xin picked it up, but no prompt was triggered. It seemed this was not complete, just a semi-finished piece made of assembled wood.

Besides this semi-finished product, there was a cabinet in the corner.

He went over, opened the cabinet, and found a blue-grade backpack inside.

He immediately took out the backpack to see what was inside.

”This is...!”

Once again, Xu Xin was astonished by the contents.

Indeed, new external treehouse weapons!

[Treehouse Repeating Crossbow (Green): A treehouse external crossbow capable of rapid successive firing, using normal-sized bolts but excels in firing speed and a high-ammunition capacity, with each crossbow able to load a hundred bolts.]

[Treehouse Super Heavy Crossbow (Green): A treehouse external crossbow that can only load one bolt, using super-heavy bolts, with immense penetration and power, but requires manual reloading after each shot.]

He found one of each crossbow in the backpack.

Xu Xin immediately took out the Treehouse Repeating Crossbow.

A large crossbow that appeared half the size of a treehouse heavy crossbow appeared before him.

Sharp at the front, slightly bulky at the back, it looked like a machine gun loaded with bullets.

Rapid-fire, isn’t that just like a machine gun!

For ordinary survivors, this was just an average repeating crossbow, but for Xu Xin, it was much more than that!

With Li Wenxi supplying an endless source of saltpeter and the ability to hunt mutated vines for their sap, they could produce a large number of explosive bolts!

The effects of explosive bolts were something he was all too familiar with! Each explosion equaled a small shell!

A treehouse repeating crossbow that could fire explosive bolts repeatedly...

When resources are scarce, they can achieve tactical interweaving; when resources are abundant, they can achieve firepower coverage!

And they were fully capable of achieving firepower coverage!

Xu Xin could already imagine the scene of him frantically bombarding with the treehouse repeating crossbow.

Strong!

This external weapon Ma Hongwei researched, combined with their resource weapons, was extremely powerful!

The treehouse super heavy crossbow was also incredibly powerful, with the makings of a truly heavy weapon.

This sort of super heavy crossbow might only fire one shot, but its power must be immense.

This is probably a prototype weapon capable of confronting giant beasts!

With immense penetrating power, even giant beasts probably couldn’t underestimate such a weapon, right?

Moreover, this was just a green-grade wooden weapon, imagine a purple-grade metal weapon...

This Ma Hongwei, is truly a weapons master!

It’s just a pity that the two heavy crossbows he made were wooden, who knows how he could create metal ones.

Xu Xin could make metal weapons, but Ma Hongwei’s blueprints were his own research, and Xu Xin naturally couldn’t unlock them.

Could it be that metal materials are needed for research?

No, I can’t waste any more time. I must hurry and contract him! This person is just too important!

He needs to be completely obedient!

”Xu Xin?” Lou Fei’Er poked her head out from the staircase, looking at Xu Xin, ”Not done yet... gosh, this floor is such a mess!”

She came up, frowning.

The floor was indeed messy with all the wood chips; if Ji Chaoyang were here, he probably couldn’t stand it.

”I found something good on the first floor.” Lou Fei’Er handed him a blue-grade backpack, ”Take a look.”

Inside this backpack were blue-grade treehouse repeating crossbows and super heavy crossbows.

Xu Xin roughly understood how Ma Hongwei’s research and production were conducted.

When researching weapons, he needed a large quantity of materials, so he used green-grade wood and beast tendons. The pile of waste here showcased his consumption level.

Once a new weapon was fully assembled, he could obtain the blueprint and, using the weapon armor crafting station in the workshop, utilize higher-grade materials to create more advanced weapons.

The green-grade repeating crossbow and super heavy crossbow on the third floor were products of his research.

And the blue-grade crossbows in the backpack Lou Fei’Er found were the advanced weapons he created using blue-grade wood and beast tendons after acquiring the blueprints.

”Did you see any special crafting stations?” Xu Xin asked Lou Fei’Er.

”No, I checked each one. Except for the control panels, they are all workstations that all survivors can make.” Lou Fei’Er shook her head.

Xu Xin nodded slightly.

The things in this treehouse were probably just about that much.

”Go and collect all the decorations in the treehouse.”

”Okay.”

Lou Fei’Er obediently went to the second floor to gather decorations.

Although she usually seemed disobedient, as soon as Xu Xin ordered her, she couldn’t help but obey like Silver King Mimi and didn’t feel any problem with it.

If it had been her original self, she might have resisted a bit, but now she had given up struggling.

From the heart.

She now wanted Xu Xin to hurry up and contract this Ma Hongwei as well, so someone else would share her situation. Later, when more are contracted, as the first contracted person, she would truly be the big sister!

Hehe...

Xu Xin also let out a sigh of relief and then slightly smiled.

This time, the gains were truly huge.
