Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 319: Chapter 265 Symbiotic Banyan Tree, Expanded Treehouse (4000 words!)

”Huh? Did you plant another treehouse? How come it’s right next to the main treehouse?” Li Wenxi noticed the banyan tree Xu Xin had planted next to the main treehouse and asked in surprise.

Then she sensed something amiss, ”Huh? Wait a minute, this parasitic treehouse feels a bit tall, doesn’t it?”

”Oh, this one? It’s not a treehouse, just a banyan tree.” Xu Xin pointed towards the canopy, ”It’s the one I found in the underground caves...”

He suddenly paused mid-sentence.

This banyan tree did indeed seem a bit strange.

Because it was so close to his treehouse, it had blended in seamlessly, and he hadn’t noticed it at all.

Yesterday, he had planted this banyan tree to the west of the treehouse. Now, the banyan tree’s canopy had already merged with the treehouse’s western canopy.

The canopies of the two trees connected so naturally, without any sense of awkwardness or seams.

If it weren’t for the two separate trunks standing on either side, he would have thought it was just one tree.

But here’s the issue: his main treehouse is of the purple tier, taller than the blue-tier treehouses, yet the banyan tree’s canopy seemed perfectly tailored to match his main treehouse. The base height of the canopy was as high as the main treehouse, and from below, it looked like a single continuous canopy.

However, the new banyan tree canopy was not four layers thick but was the thickness of a normal two-layer treehouse.

So, it created a situation where the canopy of the main treehouse was twice the height of the banyan tree’s canopy, making the connected canopies look like a staircase, one high, one low.

The higher part was the main treehouse, and the lower part was the portion connected by the banyan tree.

It was as if a two-story treehouse had been attached to the original treehouse.

But there was no denying, the banyan tree’s canopy had indeed joined up with the treehouse. The first and second-floor windows on the west side of the main treehouse were completely blocked by the new canopy.

The third floor seemed normal, so he hadn’t noticed anything unusual when he got up earlier.

However, just from this situation alone, his hypothesis appeared to be confirmed: this banyan tree could indeed expand the internal space of the treehouse!

”Hang on.” Xu Xin asked the two women to wait for a moment, then stepped forward and touched the banyan tree’s trunk.

[Symbiotic Banyan Tree (Blue): A symbiotic banyan tree capable of expanding the internal space of the treehouse and enhancing the root capabilities of the treehouse.

The symbiotic banyan tree has an extremely vigorous growth capacity, growing continuously. Once connected to a treehouse, it will continue to grow outwards, gradually expanding the internal space of the treehouse, while also slowly increasing the protected area around the treehouse.

Once the symbiotic banyan tree connects to the main treehouse, it becomes a part of the treehouse, not transplantable, nor can it produce seeds again.]

... Wow!

Seeing this effect, Xu Xin’s eyes widened.

This banyan tree... it’s that powerful?!

Li Wenxi and Lou Fei’Er stepped forward and also touched the tree’s trunk.

Then their expressions changed too, their eyes wide open.

”Symbiotic banyan tree?” Li Wenxi exclaimed, ”It can expand the internal space of the treehouse? And enhance the roots? Is this one of the banyan trees you found in the caves?”

Xu Xin had told her about his experiences in the caves, so she knew where the banyan tree came from.

Without Xu Xin’s ability to discern, she couldn’t see the detailed description, but she could still understand the tree’s primary function.

Lou Fei’Er was equally stunned; she had never imagined that the internal space of a treehouse could be expanded.

This guy has too many amazing things! The teleportation array was shocking enough, and now there’s this banyan tree!

Xu Xin carefully observed the canopy.

He could see that the banyan tree’s canopy was no longer just ordinary branches and twigs, but was made of wooden rooms, just like the treehouse!

The description said that this banyan tree would continue to grow, meaning that in the future, the space of his treehouse would become even larger.

Xu Xin took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement, and said, ”Yes, it’s the banyan tree from the caves. I just didn’t expect it to have such an effect. Let’s go, I’ll take you up to see. The inside of the treehouse should have expanded by now.”

”It really expanded! Let’s go up and take a look!”

Xu Xin took Li Wenxi and Lou Fei’Er to the first floor.

As soon as they stepped up, Xu Xin immediately noticed the difference.

The east, north, and south sides remained unchanged, but on the west side, no sunlight was streaming in from the windows.

Wow, there was another treehouse space of about a hundred square meters outside the west windows!

The first floor of the main treehouse was separated from this new hundred-square-meter space by the original treehouse exterior wall!

Xu Xin then swiped open his watch and clicked on the treehouse modification tab.

The internal blueprint of the treehouse had completely changed, and the current structure of the treehouse was visible from the blueprint.

The first and second floors had expanded to nearly two hundred square meters, though the third and fourth floors remained unchanged.

He immediately created a door on the west wall.

Li Wenxi and Lou Fei’Er, seeing the large space behind the wall, couldn’t help but exclaim despite being mentally prepared.

”This is... so big! It’s expanded by almost a hundred square meters, right?” Li Wenxi murmured to herself.

”The area of just this one floor is larger than the entire blue-tier treehouse!” Lou Fei’Er was also very surprised.
