Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 328: Chapter 270 Ma Hongwei’s Thoughts: Headfirst into the Ground!

Xu Xin almost took action directly.

But he held back.

Ma Hongwei was too cautious. Even though he was already under the treehouse, his waist was constantly entwined by roots. If his attack failed, the opponent could pull him back into the treehouse using the roots, causing trouble for them.

Under the treehouse, the roots could be manipulated, and outside the treehouse, they’d be targeted by the treehouse’s crossbows. If they were to confront him here and couldn’t subdue him in one strike, they’d find escape almost impossible.

Let’s go up first.

Ma Hongwei’s ability has a blind spot inside the treehouse.

His powers should have little combat effectiveness inside the treehouse, making it easier for Xu Xin to handle him there.

Besides, the core of the treehouse can only be obtained by entering it, so they should go in first.

Lou Fei’Er slightly frowned, but still reached out to shake his hand quickly, displaying an attitude of ”though I’m not interested in this person, I have to cooperate because we’re from the same area”.

Ma Hongwei, however, was indifferent, as long as he could help eliminate the threat from the north, it was no problem.

This world is too dangerous.

Yesterday, for some unknown reason, his cousin’s name dimmed. A dimmed name signifies death.

However, he didn’t have deep feelings for his cousin; he helped him merely because this cousin was his only relative in this world.

When he first arrived in this world, this only relative was a spiritual support for him. To keep him alive, Ma Hongwei provided him with a lot of crossbows and even gave him a control panel to help improve his survival rate in events.

As his survival time in this world increased, more and more people in area 187 died, and many he had communicated with had their names dim gradually, cutting off all contact.

He had become almost numb to the issue of death.

Death?

Such a normal thing.

Yesterday, his cousin died too.

Honestly, he wasn’t too affected by it.

As an only child, his feelings towards his cousins were lukewarm, just meeting them during the New Year. Blood ties were close, but it was what it was.

After adapting to the survival rhythm of this world, he no longer needed this dispensable spiritual support.

Plus, he didn’t quite like his cousin’s personality, one that lacked strength yet was overly showy, which didn’t sit well with him.

Ma Hongyu died?

Oh.

Then he died.

He just hoped that before dying, his cousin didn’t reveal his secret.

This ability was also considered his trump card.

Actually, even now, Ma Hongwei never thought his ability was very strong.

Because his ranking was always mediocre, sometimes not even making it into the top ten, he always felt that many in this world were stronger than him.

Especially after seeing the group of powerful mutated beasts brought by Lou Fei’Er, this feeling intensified.

Those mutated creatures looked fierce with dense blood patterns on their bodies, exceptionally developed limb muscles, much larger sizes than normal, and those exaggerated wolf teeth and leopard claws, all highlighting their strength.

Though not as large as the bull under the woman in the North, the attack power of carnivores can’t be measured by size; tigers and leopards often prey alone on animals much larger than themselves.

Especially now, with Silver King and Mimi slightly angered by Lou Fei’Er’s actions and words towards Xu Xin, they appeared full of aggression, putting considerable pressure on him and boosting his confidence.

This is undeniable!

”So, should we head out now?” Ma Hongwei said impatiently.

This was his first time seeing a woman in this world, and such a beautiful one, he couldn’t hold back.

He also wanted a woman! The woman in the North was no less than Lou Fei’Er!

”...What are you talking about? How could we just go like this?” Lou Fei’Er, with increasing impatience in her eyes, retorted, ”Shouldn’t we discuss the strategy first? We’re going to attack a treehouse; do you think they’re as easy to deal with as humans?”

”Right, right, we should indeed discuss.” Ma Hongwei quickly realized he was rushing things; though Lou Fei’Er was formidable, the woman in the North was equally strong, probably the one named Wen Guixin in the overall ranking, so he couldn’t underestimate her.

Xu Xin couldn’t help but speak, ”Brother Ma, didn’t you say before that once Sister Fei’Er arrived, you’d treat us with good food and wine? It’s so cold outside...”

He made eye contact with Ma Hongwei, subtly gesturing, indicating that Lou Fei’Er was getting impatient, and urged him to go up quickly.

Lou Fei’Er just glanced at him this time, refraining from rebuking him for interrupting, showing that she didn’t want to continue standing outside either.

”Ah, yes, of course, we can’t keep talking outside in the cold!”

Actually, Ma Hongwei didn’t want to bring outsiders into his treehouse.

But it was the first meeting and cooperation of the area’s top ten, and the newcomers were much higher ranked and stronger survivors than him, so letting them stand outside wasn’t acceptable, ”Then come on up, I’ll take you inside.”

With that, he immediately began manipulating the roots of the treehouse, intending to wrap around the waists of Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er.
