Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 320: Chapter 265 Symbiotic Banyan Tree, Expanded Treehouse (4000 words!)_2

Isn’t it? A blue-level treehouse, even with an additional layer added during the dungeon activities, only has three layers, each about fifty square meters, totaling just one hundred fifty square meters for all three layers.

But this layer alone is two hundred square meters!

”Your place has really gotten much bigger!” Li Wenxi envied it, as this place was indeed larger than hers, ”I wonder if this banyan tree can produce seeds, I really want them!”

Xu Xin remembered that the two banyan trees in the cave looked almost identical to the blue-level treehouses on the outside, even their names were simply [Banyan Tree (Blue)], unlike the current [Symbiotic Banyan Tree (Blue)].

Which meant that whether planted near the treehouse or not, the banyan tree would grow into different mature forms.

”Let’s go upstairs to take a look.” Xu Xin led them to the second floor.

The second floor was similar to the first, also featuring a spacious area around a hundred square meters.

”The second floor is this big too, is the third floor the same?”

”Not the third floor. Let’s go eat first, and I’ll explain it while we eat.”

This banyan tree indeed has the ability to expand the internal space of the treehouse, which made Xu Xin a bit excited. After all, the internal space in the treehouse was already somewhat cramped in the face of numerous functional areas.

But that’s not what excited him the most, because this banyan tree offered Xu Xin an ability he hadn’t anticipated at all.

Enhancing the treehouse’s root system and expanding the protected area!

Compared to expanding the internal area of the treehouse, this feature definitely holds strategic significance!

After entering the second phase, he had always had a concern.

In this current phase where they lacked fixed activities and rewards, how should they continue to enhance the treehouse’s abilities, especially expand the protected area?

Although they looked connected by coordinates now, in fact, between each of their treehouses were many dangerous areas, mostly linked by deterrent-type protective zones.

His experience from last night had already informed him that deterrent-type protective zones are not trustworthy, only able to barely suppress mutated creatures during normal safe times. When real danger comes, each treehouse would be surrounded from every direction.

But now, with this banyan tree, the protective zone has the ability to continue expanding. Although the speed is unknown for now, at least in the future, there’s a chance to completely connect their real protective zones and claim this area as their territory!

The three of them went to the third floor.

”Ooh!” Keke saw Xu Xin coming up and ran over, jumping into his arms.

”Oh, Keke!” Li Wenxi snatched Keke over and cuddled her in her arms.

Xu Xin walked to the west window and looked outside. Below the window was the crown of that banyan tree, which he could even reach out and touch.

This banyan tree, unlike the treehouse, can continue to grow. Over time, this tree’s crown might cover this entire area, and his one-floor and two-floor treehouse area might further expand.

Really nice. This banyan tree seed isn’t losing to energy core fragments by much.

It’s just unfortunate that the symbiotic banyan tree connected to the main treehouse can no longer be transplanted or excavated.

”Wait!” Suddenly, Xu Xin thought of Ji Chaoyang, didn’t he plant the banyan tree relatively far, about fifty meters from the treehouse?

He immediately sent Ji Chaoyang a voice message, and it connected a few seconds later.

”What’s up?” Ji Chaoyang’s voice sounded a bit tired.

”... What’s happened to you? You sound so exhausted?”

”I just forecasted once more, trying to closely observe the details within the prophecy. My spirit always ends up like this after prophecy.” Ji Chaoyang explained, and then a chewing sound came from his side, which should be him eating oranges to restore his spiritual power.

Looks like he needs spiritual potions more than I do.

Not talking about that now.

”Has your banyan tree grown yet? Have you checked it?” Xu Xin looked at his own banyan tree, directly asking.

”Symbiotic Banyan Tree, yours should be the same.” Ji Chaoyang’s words left Xu Xin a bit disappointed, but he still asked, ”Is your banyan tree connected with the main treehouse? Can you not transplant and excavate seeds?”

”... No connection, and there’s no reminder that I can’t transplant or excavate seeds.” Ji Chaoyang immediately understood Xu Xin’s meaning, ”Are your banyan tree and treehouse connected? What’s the situation?”

No connection!

Xu Xin explained his situation to Ji Chaoyang.

He was still thinking, if Ji Chaoyang’s tree was still an ordinary banyan tree, couldn’t it just be excavated with a shovel, with a hundred percent chance to get seeds and fifty percent chance to transplant?

As long as this fifty percent chance is triggered, he can get a banyan tree that can be transplanted and a banyan seed!

”Hmm... From my side, there wasn’t a reminder that I couldn’t excavate because I planted it a bit farther, and it hasn’t connected to my treehouse. But the name indeed changed to [Symbiotic Banyan Tree] rather than the previous [Banyan Tree] in the cave.”

Xu Xin touched his chin, ”Maybe... it’s really possible... you better not excavate for now. Once I finish my work here, I’ll go over and check your treehouse. Once I get a more detailed description, I’ll know if your banyan tree can be transplanted.”

”Okay. However, I might go out, so you can directly transport over when the time comes.”

”Alright.”

When he hung up, Li Wenxi looked at him with wide eyes and asked, ”You mean, there’s a chance that banyan trees can be continuously acquired through transplantation? Then for the rest of us...”

Xu Xin nodded, ”It should also be able to expand internal areas and the range of protective zones.”

”That’s great!” Li Wenxi clapped, rejoicing.

Lou Fei’Er was indifferent because she knew she definitely wouldn’t have a share of this, so she didn’t even bother asking.

”Alright, let’s eat.”

Xu Xin took out some fairly fresh fish meat, along with a grill and freshly picked fruits from the planting house, to make a grilled fish and fruit meal.

”...It’s really lively eating here.” Li Wenxi watched Mimi, the Silver King, and Afu gnawing on piranha beside them, and Keke diligently trying to use chopsticks at the table, feeling something indescribable.

”It’s always this way. They have such big appetites, good that you supplied the blue-level saltpeter before, otherwise their meat couldn’t have been preserved, and they truly would go hungry.” Xu Xin looked at the devouring Silver King and Mimi, feeling slightly troubled.

The appetite is really big, and the Silver King’s appetite increased a bit because it absorbed some Red Mist and enhanced yesterday?

Today, let Mimi and Afu also try that small room.

”Hehe, it’s so lively! I want to come here for meals all the time!” Li Wenxi said as she petted Keke’s big tail.

”Mm! This fish is really good!” Lou Fei’Er placed fish in her mouth, her eyes lighting up, ”This tastes truly delicious! Mutated creature meat is really tasty!”

”Hmm, maybe your meat is quite tasty too.” Xu Xin looked at her.

The meat from low-level mutated beasts is good. Unfortunately, once they reach the middle level, mutated beast meat becomes inedible and highly toxic instead.

”What, you want to take a bite... You aren’t allowed, if anyone gets to bite, it’s Wenxi!” Lou Fei’Er almost joked with Xu Xin two sentences, suddenly remembered in front of Li Wenxi she’s the good girl, immediately rescued the situation, grabbing Li Wenxi’s arm and glaring at him.

”Huh? Oh right, you’re sort of a mutated creature too!” Li Wenxi initially thought Xu Xin was teasing Lou Fei’Er, finally realized.

”Yes, didn’t I show you the blood marks on me last night!” Lou Fei’Er lowered her neckline, showing several blood marks.

”Eh?” Li Wenxi stared at her neckline, frozen for a moment, ”Is your blood mark’s color deeper? Was it this deep yesterday?”

Xu Xin also glanced over, that deep gorge... no, those blood marks really did appear somewhat vivid.

”You can’t look!” Li Wenxi promptly protected Lou Fei’Er, glaring at him.

Xu Xin laughed awkwardly, and put a piece of fish into his mouth.

However, Lou Fei’Er’s power has indeed progressed.
