Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 311: Chapter 261: The Addictive Red Mist

Xu Xin brought Lou Fei’Er to the outside of the cabin.

At this moment, the Silver King just emerged from the cabin. Obediently using its wolf paws, it closed the wooden door, halting the continued spread of the Red Mist, and turned around to bump into the two.

”Wow! The Silver King looks so handsome!” Lou Fei’Er’s eyes widened.

Meanwhile, the blood patterns densely covering the Silver King’s wolf body were flickering back and forth between vivid and dim, indeed handsome but appearing somewhat unstable.

”Are you okay, Silver King? Any discomfort?” Xu Xin approached and asked.

”Awooo—” The Silver King howled with vibrant energy, showing no sign of problems.

It didn’t seem to want to leave right away and instead laid down by the cabin’s door, closing its eyes as if digesting the acquired strength.

The Red Mist drifting from the door surrounded the cabin’s entrance, prompting Lou Fei’Er to step forward and take a deep breath, showing a face of intoxicated delight: ”This scent... is great!”

A really good scent?

Xu Xin covered his nose, looking at her, a twitch in the corner of his eyes.

This one turned into a mutated creature, even the sense of smell differs from normal, huh?

And this is called fragrant?

The Silver King shut the door slightly late, causing a significant amount of Red Mist to spread. Now, the mist was dense at the entrance, with an extremely pungent smell.

Had Xu Xin not quickly covered his nose, he would have likely vomited.

It’s certainly stinky!

”What kind of look is that?” Lou Fei’Er was annoyed upon seeing Xu Xin’s odd gaze with his nose covered, ”It’s only because you insisted on killing me that I turned out this way!”

Xu Xin couldn’t care less, unwilling to argue. He merely stepped back a few paces to distance himself from the dense mist, before taking a breath.

Lou Fei’Er, on the other hand, took another deep breath, her face once again intoxicated: ”This scent is indeed delightful!”

...No wonder both the Silver King and Mimi liked the Red Mist.

Seeing her like this, inhaling the mist is akin to snorting some kind of white powder; Xu Xin was genuinely worried she might get addicted.

Hopefully not?

”Alright, go in and try it, remember to tell me your feelings later.”

”Okay, my master!” Lou Fei’Er received permission to enter, responding without turning back as she opened a crack in the door and slipped inside, swiftly closing it to prevent excessive mist escape.

Then Xu Xin heard a very comfortable moan from inside.

”What the hell.” Xu Xin was filled with frustration, ”Stop making random noises!”

”But... it feels so good...” Lou Fei’Er took a deep breath, inhaling a mouthful of Red Mist, her body trembling, her voice tinged with shivers, ”Really, it’s like inhaling... drugs! Uh-oh, it seems... I’m seeing hallucinations!”

The Red Mist could actually induce hallucinations?

...Could this thing truly resemble some kind of white powder!

Xu Xin shook his head, deciding to let her try it once. If she really gets addicted, they’d need to limit her entry henceforth, because despite the strength enhancement, addiction is unacceptable.

After all, the Red Mist belongs to the Blood Pattern Race; getting addicted to enemy substances could lead to betrayal.

He spoke to Lou Fei’Er inside the room: ”Come out if it’s too much, don’t force yourself.”

”No... I feel alright! This Red Mist...”

Lou Fei’Er’s voice gradually became less shaky, though she hadn’t finished speaking when it abruptly ceased.

What’s happening?!

Xu Xin immediately peered inside from a side window.

Lou Fei’Er was standing in the mist, seemingly lost in thought.

”Is this really okay?” Xu Xin squinted, muttering softly.

Lou Fei’Er suddenly turned her gaze towards him.

Xu Xin’s pupils contracted.

The two finger-thick blood patterns that had appeared during her previous rampage reemerged vividly on her face, resembling two streaks of blood.

Her complexion had a slight blush, pupils blood-red, and her gaze foggy and unfocused, as if looking at Xu Xin, or perhaps behind him.

At her collarbone, a previously faint red pattern turned an eye-catching bright red.

She licked her lips, which too became oddly blood-red, revealing a smile: ”Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Through the wooden wall and window, the sound was faint, and Xu Xin understood her words by combining her lip movements.

Xu Xin grew cautious.

Her current state felt somewhat dangerous.

...He had merely whispered, yet despite a wall between them, Lou Fei’Er inside managed to hear him?!

He himself certainly couldn’t have heard it!

This effect on her hearing was similar to his previous enhancement!

In the mist, those mutated by the Red Mist are indeed enhanced, but to think, in such manner?

Xu Xin’s hand had already touched his backpack, ready to react if Lou Fei’Er suddenly lashed out.

However, Lou Fei’Er didn’t continue looking at Xu Xin, instead moving to the wall, sitting down slowly, leaning against it, eyes closed, completely still.

If not for the movement in her chest and a part of the mist being inhaled, Xu Xin would have thought something was wrong with her.
