Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 312: Chapter 261: Addictive Red Mist_2

Xu Xin breathed a sigh of relief; fortunately, she didn’t go berserk.

He originally wanted Afu to try out the Red Mist sauna room too, but now Lou Fei’Er’s state seemed somewhat dangerous. Better to keep Afu out of the same room for now. If she were to suddenly lose her mind and go berserk again like last time, Afu, being a lower-level mutated creature, would have no chance to fight back in such a confined space.

Inside the cabin, the three red mist flowers stirred and started releasing red mist again, thickening the atmosphere in the small cabin even more, to the point where he could no longer see Lou Fei’Er’s face clearly.

Xu Xin continued observing for a few dozen seconds.

Lou Fei’Er still didn’t make any movements; rather, Silver King, sitting by the cabin door, stood up.

But it didn’t intend to enter the cabin again; instead, it walked over to Xu Xin’s side.

”Forget it, let’s not worry about her for now. Let’s head up, Silver King.” Xu Xin took one last look at Lou Fei’Er shrouded in the red mist, then headed towards the treehouse.

”Awooo!”

Besides having its energy and spirit restored, Silver King showed no other special conditions; the blood patterns on its body no longer flickered. Judging from Silver King’s state, Lou Fei’Er should have no major issues either.

After entering once, Silver King didn’t change much. Or maybe the changes were too minor for Xu Xin to notice.

In the future, letting Silver King Mimi and the others soak in the Red Mist a few more times should reveal the results.

Keke was still sleeping soundly in his arms, occasionally letting out a soft sleep murmur.

The little creature hadn’t woken up at all, which Xu Xin found odd.

He didn’t expect the little one to sleep so deeply this time.

Before, although it loved sleeping, it was very sensitive, never sleeping deeply. Any slight disturbance would at least make it raise its eyes to look, and in case of danger, it would instantly wake up to alert Xu Xin.

Whether it was Lou Fei’Er’s startled cries in her treehouse or the pungent red mist filling the cabin just now, none of this woke Keke.

Could it be tired from running in the cave during the day?

Perhaps... it’s because it feels immensely safe being near his treehouse, within the protective range of the plant heart, allowing it to sleep so peacefully?

Xu Xin took Silver King and Keke back to the third floor of the treehouse, placing Keke on the bed to let it sleep more.

”Yip...” Keke turned over and lay down, its large tail hanging off the edge of the bed, still not waking.

Xu Xin patted Keke’s small head before heading back down from the treehouse.

He intended to plant the banyan tree seed and use fertilizer to accelerate its growth.

Last time, Xu Xin had spent all his points, but recently he had accumulated quite a few again, now reaching just over 1000.

Coupled with the 30% discount he had in the points store and methods to quickly earn points, buying fertilizer for growth posed no pressure at all.

”Plant around the treehouse... how close would count as around the treehouse?” Xu Xin pondered, stroking his chin.

He recalled the two banyan trees in the cave, similar in size and height to the blue-grade treehouse, but from appearance alone, they seemed like blue-grade treehouses.

Xu Xin considered for a moment, deciding to plant them adjacent to the treehouse.

After all, he and Ji Chaoyang speculated that these banyan trees might expand the internal space of the treehouse and widen its canopy area. Close planting would allow the canopies to connect, verifying their hypothesis.

Even if they were wrong, it wouldn’t matter since he could dig them up and replant. The current shovel could guarantee seed recovery, and even transplantation was viable! His purple-grade backpack reduced weight to one-fiftieth, likely allowing him to transplant a banyan tree now.

Moreover, Ji Chaoyang planted his tree about forty to fifty meters away from the treehouse, prompting Xu Xin to choose a different spot. If both did the same, there’d be no comparison to determine the best planting spot.

Xu Xin lavishly purchased two bags of blue-grade fertilizer priced at 500 points each from the points store, spending 700 points.

One bag improved a plot to blue-grade soil and planted the banyan tree seed, the other sprinkled over the just-sprouted banyan sapling.

[Banyan Seedling (Blue): A banyan tree seedling, extremely fragile and prone to death. Do not stomp on it. Due to blue fertilizer-induced maturation, remaining growth time: 9 hours, 59 minutes, 46 seconds]

Alright, stable.

Only ten hours needed for complete growth.

By morning, this banyan tree will mature, revealing its true function then.

It’s fine being fragile at this stage; not only are there no beasts around, but even if there were, the plant heart would protect it thoroughly. No need for extra protective measures.

Xu Xin arrived beneath the treehouse, passing by Beloved’s burrow and glancing inside.

Beloved lay in the burrow, with two little ones playfully tumbling nearby.

The current temperature was somewhat low, but it didn’t affect them; all are mutated creatures with strong environmental adaptation. However, when snow falls, whether they’ll endure is unknown.

On Earth, pangolins typically hibernate in winter; whether they’ll hibernate remains to be seen.

”Beloved, feel free to enter the Red Mist room anytime; the mist there can enhance your strength,” Xu Xin called to Beloved, aware of its presence.

Beloved let out a crisp call, indicating acknowledgment.

The little ones, hearing Xu Xin’s voice, turned their heads towards him, then crawled over to snuggle close, softly calling out, eyes wide and bright, showing great affection towards him.

Xu Xin was stunned by the growth speed of these two little ones.

Wow, these two, now already bigger than Keke!

Though just a bit bigger, still small creatures, they grew remarkably fast!

It’s been only a few days!

Meanwhile, Keke, being with him for so long, hasn’t grown at all.

Keke has now become the smallest little creature again.

After teasing the two baby pangolins, watching them crawl back into the burrow, Xu Xin grabbed a root, returning inside the treehouse.

Going directly to the third floor, he plopped onto the sofa, exhaling long and deeply.

Mimi, lying in the corner, glanced at him.

”Tomorrow I’ll take you out for a stroll,” Xu Xin smiled at the somewhat disinterested Mimi.

Today has been exhausting; busy the entire day!

However, the gains today have been tremendous.

Not only obtaining an energy core fragment that can dispel cold and blood-pattern mutated beasts but also connecting the treehouses of the four here and adjusting mutual abilities, they’ve formed the initial shape of a real organization.

Not sure what abilities the other five have on that side.

Qin Yunlong and his brother’s abilities surely involve water, being able to dive physically to depths of 100 meters is unimaginable without such abilities.

Wen Guixin is even more mysterious. During the exploration, Qin Yunlong’s brother mentioned seeing her kick a survivor to death, yet no one knows her true ability, only aware of her strong physical prowess. When asked, she coyly said to talk about it when they meet.

Regarding Wang Lei and Zhao Xiaochuan, he knew even less. But considering their casual attitude during discussions of special abilities in the group, it’s almost certain both possess unique abilities.

... Find an opportunity to discuss together; though meeting them in person is uncertain, it’s necessary to know each other’s abilities for clear division of roles.
