Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 349: Chapter 279 Preparation Before Danger_2

And since we already know there will be a crisis tomorrow, explosive crossbow bolts, which can exert significant power in anyone’s hands, naturally need to be well prepared.

”Is it that urgent? Um... How about you come over to help too?” Li Wenxi didn’t know there would be a beast tide tomorrow, so she was still relatively relaxed. She wanted to be with Xu Xin to make it easier.

”I also want to come to find you, but I have other things to do today.”

Just as Xu Xin was about to inform her about tomorrow’s situation, Ji Chaoyang had already informed everyone in the Explorer group and district channel about the possible situation the next day.

Li Wenxi also noticed and exclaimed, ”Oh my God, there will be a beast tide tomorrow?! You knew already?”

”Yes, so do your best. Your saltpeter mine is very important; it concerns the survival rate of our area.”

”I’ll go collect saltpeter right away, taking Yajun with me! You do your best too!”

”Okay.”

After ending the call, Ma Hongwei had already directly traded ten control panels and fifty heavy crossbows with him.

At the same time, Xu Xin heard Lou Fei’Er’s shouting from under the treehouse.

”Xu Xin, are you there? Let me come up for a moment!”

Xu Xin manipulated the roots of the treehouse to pull her up.

”Why are you here? Didn’t I ask you to find Le Youfang?”

”I’m here for that... um, can I borrow your Silver King?” Lou Fei’Er glanced at the Silver King resting in the corner and tentatively asked.

If the Silver King could take her, she wouldn’t have to run several kilometers by herself.

”Silver King, is it okay?” Xu Xin also wanted Lou Fei’Er to hurry back and help Li Wenxi mine, so he looked at the Silver King.

”Awoo!” The Silver King stood up.

”Yay!” Lou Fei’Er ran to the Silver King and patted its head.

”Bring back the Silver King within an hour,” Xu Xin gave Lou Fei’Er a time limit since he needed the Silver King to take him to the edge of the safe zone to kill the vines later.

The raw materials for explosives, besides saltpeter, also include the sap of mutated vines. He needed to kill vines at the edge of the safe zone to collect some sap and earn more points.

Points can be exchanged for Blue-level fertilizers to accelerate the growth of Blue-level pine trees and obtain Blue-level logs. Two birds with one stone.

”No problem!” Lou Fei’Er was confident, taking the Silver King and going down.

”You...” Seeing Lou Fei’Er had already left the treehouse, Xu Xin swallowed his words.

He was about to remind her to hold on tight, as she hadn’t signed a riding contract with the Silver King. If she didn’t hold on tight...

”Whoa—ah! Ouch, ouch, ouch... Silver King, slow down!”

As expected, she fell off.

Xu Xin shook his head and ignored her.

He traded each member of the Explorer group a control panel and four treehouse crossbows.

As for why four, because the treehouse has four sides, each of which may come under attack, so four are necessary.

Both the Explorer group and the district channel became lively due to Ji Chaoyang’s words.

Wang Lei: ”A beast tide of mutated creatures, sounds terrifying!”

Wen Guixin: ”Soldiers come and water blocks, why be afraid?”

Qin Yunlong: ”...We don’t have fighting power like yours. By the way, what exactly is your ability? Can you tell us now?”

Qi Xuefei: ”Let’s hope those beasts don’t attack the treehouse. But, haven’t you known each other long enough to know Guixin’s ability?”

Qin Yunhu: ”She can handle other survivors with just her fists.”

Wen Guixin: ”...My ability isn’t great, it’s a bit complicated, and I can’t really help you much, so let’s not talk about it for now...”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Brother Xin sent a bunch of stuff! Control panels and treehouse crossbows?!”

Xu Xin introduced the functions to them and told them they now needed to mass-produce explosive crossbow bolts, so they needed plant vine sap.

Wen Guixin: ”I’ll collect vine sap!”

Li Wenxi: ”Leave the saltpeter to me, yay! The hundredfold explosion rate is here again!”

Wang Lei: ”Hundredfold explosion rate? What does that mean? Hundredfold?!”

The four already met on Xu Xin’s side did not explain their abilities to the others in detail.

Xu Xin: ”Get ready for tomorrow first, and then at night, we Explorers will have a meeting to describe our abilities and discuss our roles. There’s no point in keeping it secret anymore.”

Wen Guixin: ”Alright...”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Are we going to find out Brother Xin and Brother Chaoyang’s abilities? Exciting!”

In the district channel, everyone also lost their previous calm, with a sense of urgency permeating throughout.

”I just bought twenty treehouse armors! If we can’t win, we’ll stack the armors for defense to hold out!”

”Good idea, I’ll do the same!”

”Big shots, I have some Green-level fine wood and beast tendons. Who should I trade them to?”

Just now, Ji Chaoyang told everyone in the district channel that they would send out new heavy crossbows but needed fine wood and beast tendons, calling for these materials from everyone.

Xu Xin immediately said in the district channel, ”Send the fine wood and beast tendons to a person named Ma Hongwei.”

His words were quickly repeated by many survivors, flooding the channel.

Xu Xin immediately contacted Ma Hongwei, asking him to receive resources and then put the crossbows on the shelf, initially limiting each person to two purchases.

Soon, the treehouse crossbows began to be listed and could be exchanged for normal Green-level resources.

The big names among these Explorers didn’t lack resources, and those below them couldn’t possibly have more precious resources. Nothing good could be gained from them, so there was no need to sell at high prices.

Otherwise, it would be pointless to empty them when Explorers had to assist them later anyway.

Xu Xin also installed several crossbows on his treehouse, especially on the new banyan treehouse wall, and equipped armor on the trunk of the newly grown banyan tree.

Although this was within the protection range of the plant heart, it needed proper installation.

He loaded the crossbows with explosive bolts and shot them into the open ground next to the treehouse.

”Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!”

Five rapid shots directly blasted the ground into a crater.

Nice, very effective!

”Yingying!” Once again, Keke was shaken off the sofa and couldn’t sleep, running to Xu Xin’s side.

Xu Xin patted Keke’s head and took it down from the treehouse.

”Consort, time to mine coal!” Xu Xin called toward the entrance of the mine.

Consort let out a crisp call and emerged from the ground tunnel.

”Dig a bit more.” Xu Xin instructed Consort and then took Keke to the place he had been keeping secret recently.

This was the edge of the bottomless lake.

”Keke, is there still danger in the lake now?” Xu Xin petted Keke’s big tail in his arms and asked.

”Ying.” Keke shook its little head, indicating that it didn’t sense danger now.

There was no danger in the lake anymore.

Xu Xin took a deep breath.

Now that Silver King was taken by Lou Fei’Er, he couldn’t go to the border to kill vines, but with other members of the Explorers collecting vine sap together, there was no rush.

It’s time to go down and have a look.

The beast tide is likely to strike tomorrow. By then, the giant anaconda is likely to return, so now is the last chance.

Let’s see what that green mineral really is!
