Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 302: Chapter 257 New Boning Knife_2

”Feels a bit like a dog tag...” Xu Xin looked at the tag hanging around the Silver King’s neck with its name on it and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”Awoo?” The Silver King was puzzled.

”Eek!” Keke jumped onto Xu Xin’s shoulder, nudging his face with its little paws, indicating that it wanted one too.

Xu Xin picked it up, placing the teleportation bracelet back into its paws.

Keke raised its teleportation bracelet, looked at it for a moment, then looked at the still-spinning portal and hugged the bracelet tightly to its chest, ”Eek!”

”Alright, let’s go back.”

Xu Xin, holding Keke, stepped into the portal along with the Silver King.

The world spun, a rapid descent.

”Eek!” Keke curled up into a ball.

”Awoo!” The Silver King also let out a frightened yell.

Within two seconds, Xu Xin found his feet on the ground.

Having experienced so many teleportations, he really felt somewhat accustomed to it now. Although his head was still a bit dizzy, standing stable was not much of a problem anymore. At least, outsiders shouldn’t be able to notice his unease.

The Silver King and Keke had previous teleportation experience in the salt mine cave.

However, the Silver King was still a bit unsteady and lay down to rest, shaking his wolf head.

Keke peeked out from Xu Xin’s arms, ”Eek?” it said, jumping down and looking around, like it was saying, ”Is it over already? We came back so quickly?”

It seemed that last time in the cave, it had no issues either; it had even run to Xu Xin’s side to check on him.

This little guy was getting more and more mysterious.

Xu Xin put the bracelet Keke left in his arms into his backpack and turned to look for Li Wenxi.

He then noticed that Li Wenxi was on the other side of the coordinates, being helped to her feet by Lou Fei’Er, looking a bit pale.

Xu Xin quickly stepped forward and supported her, ”How are you feeling? Is it uncomfortable?”

”Uh... my head is spinning, I feel like I want to vomit, and my legs are weak...” Li Wenxi said, her legs giving out as, at just the right moment, Lou Fei’Er let go and nudged her, causing her to fall into Xu Xin’s arms.

Lou Fei’Er raised an eyebrow at Xu Xin.

This woman...

Li Wenxi’s current state was similar to Xu Xin’s first teleportation experience in the salt mine cave. He couldn’t even stand up and had to rest for quite a while, and even then he needed to support himself against a wall to stand steadily.

”Ugh... is this what bungee jumping feels like... so uncomfortable...” Li Wenxi mumbled, her face pale.

”Uh... bungee jumping doesn’t make you dizzy; the falling sensation is what bungee jumping feels like. Don’t worry, it’s not always this uncomfortable with every teleportation. I’ve teleported several times and have basically gotten used to it now. A few more teleports and you’ll be fine,” Xu Xin patted Li Wenxi’s back reassuringly.

”... That’s good to hear.” Li Wenxi had rested enough, straightened up, and exhaled a long breath, ”Ah, that falling sensation is really thrilling, but it’s too dizzying. I’ve never even gotten dizzy on a roller coaster.”

”How about it, do you want to rest a bit? You can come to my place,” Lou Fei’Er stepped forward, asking with concern.

”Yes, yes,” Li Wenxi nodded quickly, ”I don’t want to teleport again right away, it would be unbearable! I’ll go to Fei’Er’s and check out her parasitic tree house, maybe also help Yajun with planning. You probably have a lot to do, so I won’t disturb you!”

”Okay then, take a rest before going back, better not stay here overnight,” Xu Xin reminded.

”Alright, good.” Li Wenxi massaged her temples, her complexion slightly better.

Xu Xin squinted at Lou Fei’Er, raised his left hand a bit, then turned and led the Silver King and Keke back to the treehouse.

This guy threatened me again! Lou Fei’Er gritted her teeth secretly.

Let’s see if I can bring Li Wenxi to my side; then what will you dare do to me?

Back at the treehouse, the Silver King and Keke both went to the third floor to rest, while he headed to the crafting room.

He needed to make the violet-tier boning knife and start breaking down the piranhas he got from the cave.

At the weapon and armor crafting station, he tried clicking on the crafting button.

[The success rate for crafting the violet-tier boning knife is 90% (80% + 10%), proceed with crafting?]

The base success rate for crafting a violet-tier boning knife is 80%! He had added a 100% bonus point to the crafting room, which gave an additional 10% success rate.

When crafting the Scale Armor set, each piece also had an 80% success rate. It seemed that the crafting success rate for violet-tier weapons and armor might all be 80%.

So, it seems the crafting room is much easier to satisfy compared to his alchemy room!

The success rate for blue-tier alchemical products was abysmally low at 50%, and using a blue-tier ergonomic chair couldn’t even increase the crafting success rate, which was simply ridiculous!

Xu Xin moved a blue-tier ergonomic chair over to sit on it, immediately raising the success rate by another 10%, bringing it to a reassuring 100%.

Xu Xin nodded with satisfaction and clicked on the craft button immediately.

A stone-made violet-tier boning knife appeared in his hand. Compared to the blue-tier boning knife, the violet-tier boning knife completely lacked that rough feel of stone tools, and it was very smooth and sharp with a thin blade, reminding him of ceramic knives on Earth.

Wasting no time, Xu Xin immediately retrieved the piranha corpses he’d left in the treehouse upon returning and laid them out, starting to work.

The feel of the violet-tier boning knife was even smoother than the blue-tier one. He easily disassembled a piranha.

Unfortunately, this piranha only yielded one blue-tier skin; the rest were all green-tier materials.

Xu Xin frowned, but then quickly understood.

He had speculated before that the stronger and higher-tier the beast, the higher the likelihood of obtaining high-tier materials.

This piranha was merely a low-tier mutant creature, and because it was too weak, the likelihood of obtaining violet-tier materials from it was very small.

In comparison, medium-tier mutant beasts would have a higher chance of producing violet-tier materials.

He had used a blue-tier boning knife to disassemble medium-tier mutant creatures, and each medium-tier mutant creature basically yielded all blue-tier resources. This was because a blue-tier boning knife could only produce blue-tier materials at best; using a violet-tier boning knife, the chance of producing violet-tier materials should be very high.

Xu Xin shook his head, temporarily setting aside those thoughts. Currently, not even ordinary beasts had returned to the jungle, so thinking about those things was useless.

Hopefully, these piranha corpses could yield him some violet-tier materials.

Xu Xin began disassembling the second one.

No violet-tier materials.

The third one.

No violet-tier materials.

...

The thirteenth one, still just regular materials.

”I...” Xu Xin was speechless.

This probability... it’s too low! Even if it’s a low-tier mutant creature, these piranhas have a strength of 80 points, close to medium-tier mutant beasts, yet the result with the violet-tier boning knife is the same as with the blue-tier? Not a single violet-tier material!

Xu Xin looked at the three remaining piranha corpses on the ground. He originally had thirty-two but divided half with Ji Chaoyang because they were too heavy; now only sixteen were left, with just three remaining.

”You three, it’s up to you to give me one...” Xu Xin immediately began disassembling the fourteenth one.

Regular materials.

Xu Xin took a deep breath and started on the fifteenth one.

Regular materials.

”Damn it...” He nearly threw the boning knife away, looking doubtfully at the knife in his hand.

It was violet-tier, wasn’t it?

Isn’t this thing capable of yielding violet-tier materials? He still had his lucky koi blessing, fifteen times and not once?

Forget it, whatever.

Xu Xin carelessly swiped at the last one.

Violet light flashed suddenly.

”It’s here!” Xu Xin’s eyes suddenly gleamed; finally, the last one gave him something!
