Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 333: Chapter 272: Collapse of the 3-Story Treehouse_2

”Mm-hmm, got it.” Lou Fei’Er also peeked down to look.

At this moment, Keke had already reached the base of the trunk.

The core was seven or eight meters away from the first layer of the treehouse, so before Keke descended, Xu Xin hadn’t noticed its size. However, once Keke went down, there was a point of reference. He was amazed to discover that the core of the blue-grade treehouse was far larger than that of the green-grade treehouse.

The core of the green-grade treehouse was only the size of a fist, while the core of the blue-grade treehouse was a circle larger, appearing as if it would be hard for Keke’s little mouth to grasp it.

Keke first patted the core with its small paws, then pushed it twice, but the core remained motionless.

It used all four limbs and even its mouth, but still couldn’t dig the core out of the ground.

”Ying! Ying-ying!” Keke scratched the core twice, whining in frustration.

”Keke, stop digging. Even if you dig it out, you can’t bring it up, come back up.” Xu Xin called Keke to stop.

”Ying...” Upon hearing this, Keke’s ears immediately drooped, and its big tail also sagged onto the ground.

Knowing that this Treasure Pearl was too big for it to hold onto and that it couldn’t help, Keke could only leap around and then jump back up, finally leaping into Xu Xin’s arms: ”Ying...”

”I’ll go down.” Lou Fei’Er volunteered, sitting on the edge of the hollow tree trunk and looking at the core below, said, ”I can bring it up.”

The hollow tree trunk of the green-grade treehouse was slightly wider than a person’s shoulder, allowing entry. The hollow of the blue-grade treehouse was even wider, almost as wide as a well, making it no problem for Lou Fei’Er to jump down and even move around easily.

”Alright.” Xu Xin nodded in agreement, stroking Keke’s small head.

He initially planned to go down himself, but since someone volunteered, he didn’t need to do it: ”Remember to come up immediately after getting the core. The treehouse will collapse right away.”

”Got it!” Lou Fei’Er gave a very unstandard salute and then jumped down.

She slid down with her feet and back rubbing against the tree hole, landing on the soil below.

”The core of the blue-grade treehouse, the core of my treehouse, is like this?”

Lou Fei’Er reached out to touch the core, and instantly, a warm sensation poured through her entire body.

Did this core have such a function?

The parasite treehouse that Xu Xin allocated to her had a treehouse core embedded in the floor’s center, constantly charging with energy and emitting a shimmering white glow.

She had studied that core for a long time but hadn’t figured anything out.

Touching that core didn’t have the same feeling.

”What’s wrong?” Xu Xin saw Lou Fei’Er stand dazed after touching the core and asked, ”Is something wrong?”

”Ah! I’ll bring the core up right away!” Lou Fei’Er snapped back to reality and hurriedly tried to remove the core.

But like Keke, she couldn’t lift it.

She first dug around the soil with her hands, pulled out a dagger, and inserted it beneath the core, prying hard.

The core was immediately pried loose.

”Hurry up!” Xu Xin could already feel the floor slightly shaking.

Through the window, he saw the fig tree leaves outside turning yellow rapidly.

This blue-grade treehouse was about to collapse!

Lou Fei’Er wasted no time, using her legs to push against the tree hole’s sides, and with her agile form, swiftly leapt up and handed the treehouse core to Xu Xin: ”Here you go.”

Xu Xin didn’t have time to check the introduction, directly stuffing the treehouse core, which couldn’t be held with one hand, into the backpack: ”Let’s go!”

Keke was already standing by the window watching them. Seeing Xu Xin approaching, it immediately leaped through the window ahead of them.

Keke landed very lightly and easily. After landing, it turned back to them, calling ”Ying-ying,” urging them to come down quickly.

Xu Xin also immediately jumped through the window.

Upon landing, he rolled, absorbing most of the impact, and landed perfectly.

He stood up and dusted off his clothes.

Lou Fei’Er also rolled by his side and stood up nimbly.

Mimi and Silver King were even more at ease. Despite their large sizes, they landed lightly after jumping out. Afu didn’t need to worry at all, leisurely flying out by flapping its wings, turning around mid-air to look at the wilting treehouse.

Ma Hongwei, unconscious on Silver King’s back, wasn’t as lucky. After Silver King landed, he rolled off the wolf’s back due to the bumps and fell face-first onto the ground.

...As long as he’s not dead, administering the mutant pills will activate mutant powers, healing even severe injuries.

The banyan leaves of the treehouse in front had completely withered and fallen off, revealing the square-shaped treehouse inside.

Dozens of ballistae on the outer walls of the treehouse were also revealed.

Only then did Xu Xin notice that half of these ballistae hidden in the treehouse canopy were Ma Hongwei’s newly developed models.

The treehouse emitted cracking noises like breaking branches, followed by cracks appearing on its wooden exterior walls, becoming denser and larger.

The ballistae also developed cracks along with the treehouse and began loosening.

”Boom!”

Before their eyes, the entire three-story treehouse collapsed with a bang, the ballistae becoming a pile of rubble alongside it!

Only a solitary trunk stood in the center of the wreckage.

The collapse scene of the blue-grade treehouse was far more spectacular than that of the green-grade treehouse.

”It just turned into a ruin...” Lou Fei’Er widened her eyes at the scene before turning to look at Ma Hongwei lying on the ground, ”This guy, when he wakes up, he might go mad. He fell asleep, and his home is gone.”

Xu Xin stepped into the wreckage, turned over a few times to confirm that the ballistae were smashed along with the treehouse, and sighed.

What a pity, those were all blue-grade new model ballistae.

However, fortunately, he obtained the core of a blue-grade treehouse!

He took out the core from the backpack.

[Small Treehouse Core: A core that provides growth energy for the treehouse, which dies immediately upon removal. The energy within the Small Treehouse Core can upgrade blue-grade materials to purple-grade, and at full energy, can upgrade three times consecutively. The white light emitted by the Small Treehouse Core causes a sense of fear in beasts, deterring them from approaching, while also dispelling heat and cold around the holder.]

”Oh?”

This core has some interesting features!

What Xu Xin obtained from the green-grade treehouse was the [Low Small Treehouse Core], which could upgrade one blue-grade resource to purple-grade, while this [Small Treehouse Core] at full energy could upgrade three times consecutively.

Not bad, within his expectations.

However, the abilities described later felt very familiar to him.

Repelling beasts, maintaining temperature?
