Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 344: Chapter 277: The Submissive Ma Hongwei A New Crisis? (4500 words!)_2

”You’ve accepted it just like that?” Lou Fei’Er thought he would be like her, first raging powerlessly, then struggling in vain, and finally compromising with the inevitable.

Unexpectedly, he was so calm, which made her seem a bit foolish in comparison.

”What’s not to accept? This is already the best outcome for me.” Ma Hongwei shrugged, ”My treehouse has already been transplanted, what else can I do? Teaming up with the first in the region is better than following Zhang Daoguang, the boss of District 187.”

”But isn’t he...” Lou Fei’Er wanted to say that Xu Xin killed your cousin, but she glanced at Xu Xin, who was looking at Ma Hongwei, and dared not say it.

However, Ma Hongwei understood: ”You’re talking about my cousin, right? If I hadn’t signed this contract, I might have had some grudges, but now, it doesn’t matter. I didn’t like that guy anyway, and he was the one who dragged me into this.”

Ma Hongwei now had only one thought, which was to show loyalty. His life now belonged to someone else; if he didn’t show loyalty, what else could he do?

Go against his own life?

Moreover, from a survival rate perspective, teaming up with the region’s number one should make him much stronger than before. Only a fool would seek death by themselves.

Of course, Xu Xin’s ”Affinity Amplification” was also at work here, making Ma Hongwei feel that allegiance to the man in front of him might not be a bad idea.

At least in strategy and combat ability, he was no match for Xu Xin.

”Alright, I understand your current thoughts.” Xu Xin clapped his hands, indicating that the conversation could end here, and he had changed the ownership of this treehouse to Ma Hongwei, ”Since I’ve contracted you, you’re now my companion. Let’s first see if your watch is usable.”

Xu Xin pointed at the watch on Ma Hongwei’s wrist, which was previously connected to Ma Hongwei’s main treehouse, that had now been destroyed.

Ma Hongwei swiped the watch, and a projection appeared. He scrolled through it, his eyes widening, then said: ”I’m now connected to the District 188 regional channel and trading platform.”

It seems the watch automatically connects to the parasitic treehouse after transplanting the other’s treehouse.

Xu Xi immediately opened his watch as well.

Recently on the regional channel, everyone seemed to have lost the sense of urgency they previously had, given there hadn’t been any crisis in the past two days.

”Ah, when will the big players come to find me... I really want to team up with them...”

”Staying in the treehouse day after day, so boring...”

”Several people have already been brought back to the treehouse by the big players, and they even gave them blue-grade equipment so they could roam outside!”

”That’s so cool! I also want to go out!”

”When will it be my turn, being solo is just too hard...”

”Brothers and sisters, let’s swap fruits and vegetables, grown tired of the ones I planted.”

”I really want to eat meat! Hurry up and let the beasts of the jungle return!”

Such conversations on the regional channel left Ma Hongwei a bit dumbfounded; he hadn’t expected the state of District 188 to be like this.

Compared to District 187, it was far more harmonious. Currently, District 187 felt like the calm before the storm—numbers were dropping rapidly, and everyone was anxious, even suspecting one’s own people.

If it weren’t for Zhang Daoguang’s announcement shifting the conflict externally, the District 187 regional channel would probably be filled with depressive negativity.

”Say something on the regional channel,” Xu Xin told Ma Hongwei.

”Okay.” Ma Hongwei quickly said ”Hello everyone” on the regional channel.

But his message was quickly swiped away; with over three thousand people, no one would notice the foreign name, as no one could possibly remember everyone’s name.

Xu Xin instantly locked onto him and sent him a private message: ”Alright, now we can communicate through the watch. I’ve planted your treehouse three hundred meters away from mine, contact me directly if there’s anything.”

Ma Hongwei nodded, then chuckled wryly: ”Though it’s a bit late to say it now, ’Brother Gu’, you really screwed me over.”

Xu Xin also chuckled.

”This isn’t screwing you over, coming here is much better than being on your own over there.” Lou Fei’Er pointed at his watch, ”After experiencing District 188’s strength, do you still think District 187 has hope? Just betray with peace of mind.”

”You’re right.” Ma Hongwei exhaled.

”Explain your ability to me.” Xu Xin said.

Ma Hongwei nodded and revealed his ability to Xu Xin.

Roughly consistent with what he previously guessed, he can research new types of external weapons and control all external weapons on the treehouse using the control panel.

Currently, his ability only improves the ”Wooden Auto-Crossbow” he has seen, so what Xu Xin sees are in the form of crossbow arrows, without any brand-new weapons.

Xu Xin suddenly asked: ”If I give you an iron auto-crossbow, can you research a new type of crossbow?”

”Of course.” Ma Hongwei quickly nodded, ”And I can research it very quickly, as I’m already familiar with crossbows. Actually, I already have a rough idea of what parts should use metal materials, but since research consumes a lot of materials, I don’t have much metal, so I can’t implement it.”
