Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 306: Chapter 259: Anomaly of the Moonless Night

Xu Xin experienced the feeling of spinning and falling while riding on a wolf.

It was thrilling, but still a bit uncomfortable.

The moment Silver King’s four paws touched the ground, it almost lost its balance and fell to one side.

Xu Xin quickly dismounted, letting it lie down to rest.

Li Wenxi had already returned to her tree house by this time. She noticed the commotion outside and leaned her head out of the tree house window.

”Why are you here again?” Li Wenxi was somewhat surprised, ”Teleporting so many times in a day, doesn’t it make you uncomfortable? I’m still dizzy after just the second time...”

Saying that, she leaned on the window sill and rubbed her head.

”Whine!” Keke waved a small paw at Li Wenxi from Xu Xin’s arms.

Believe it or not, after teleporting so many times, he really started to feel increasingly at ease.

This time, although he still felt a bit dizzy, there were basically no after-effects.

”I’ve almost gotten used to it.” Xu Xin pointed to his own head, indicating that he no longer felt dizzy at all, ”Taking a shortcut, it’s closer to get to Qi Xuefei’s tree house from here.”

”Oh, I see... but really, can one get used to teleporting?” Li Wenxi, still leaning on the window sill, didn’t plan on getting up. She knew Xu Xin would be leaving again soon, ”Then I need to teleport a few more times to get used to it. This time when I got back, I sat on the ground for a long time, and Yajun was quite startled, she thought you did something to me.”

”What could I possibly do to you...” Xu Xin shook his head.

Then, he saw Li Yajun peeking out from behind Li Wenxi.

...Are these two chatting together?

Li Yajun saw Xu Xin and immediately smiled and waved at him, ”Hello Xu Xin.”

It was obvious that she was in a good mood.

Indeed, she had met many people that day. Unlike before, when she was alone, constantly on edge and unable to sleep well, now she didn’t need to be so tense every second.

She could even relax and chat with Li Wenxi like this, which was far more comfortable than exploring dungeons and hunting beasts alone. Her mood was bound to be much better.

Silver King was still lying on the ground, needing a bit more time to rest.

In the meantime, Xu Xin thought he should make a teleportation token for Li Yajun too. She was a part of Area 188 and came willingly, so he couldn’t treat her unfairly.

Moreover, Li Wenxi’s token needed to be upgraded to a blue level, and each area required someone to manage the coordinates.

Xu Xin explained the situation to Li Wenxi and walked to the tree house.

After listening, Li Wenxi, without hesitation, used the tree house vines to pull Xu Xin up.

As soon as he entered the tree house, Keke jumped out of Xu Xin’s arms and rolled onto the sofa.

This was Xu Xin’s second time entering Li Wenxi’s tree house. Compared to the last time, the new layout on the third floor was refreshing.

”How is it? Yajun helped me rearrange it; it looks much more comfortable than before, right!” Li Wenxi pointed to her living room, a bit proud.

If Li Wenxi’s previous layout looked like a rental apartment, now her room genuinely felt like a cozy home. The overall structure hadn’t changed, but some added details made it much warmer.

”Wow, you really... nailed it!” Xu Xin widened his eyes and took a closer look, then turned to Li Yajun, ”When you have time, modify the layout of my tree house too. It really does feel homely.”

”It was nothing; I just pay more attention to details.” Li Yajun said, a bit embarrassed, as she touched her head.

”You and Ji Chaoyang could become good friends,” Xu Xin thought of Ji Chaoyang’s personality and laughed.

He didn’t waste any more time and made a teleportation token for Li Yajun, telling her to always bring it during teleportation, or the consequences could be dire.

At the same time, he also made a blue-level token for Li Wenxi.

”By the way,” Li Wenxi took out her green-level token, ”When I returned, I forgot to take the token out of my backpack. It stayed in there the whole time, but everything was fine. I could activate the teleportation gate and teleport normally, so the token doesn’t need to be held in hand to work.”

”...Forgot to take it out?” Xu Xin was momentarily stunned, then laughed in frustration, ”How could you forget something like that?”

Based on Keke’s reaction, one could tell how dangerous the teleportation portal was; it scared him off directly. Even when facing unknown, hostile crocodiles, Keke would never back down.

If the token failed, Li Wenxi might have been torn apart by the chaotic space within the portal, or randomly teleported to extremely dangerous locations.

Thinking about that, Xu Xin felt a bit scared.

”Well, nothing happened, right?” Li Wenxi felt a bit embarrassed but quickly lifted her head, saying, ”Besides, if it didn’t work, the teleportation gate shouldn’t activate at all. Since it did activate, it means it worked!”

Hmm... She did have a point.

Furthermore, if that’s the case, the token doesn’t need to be in hand, just nearby. That way, Keke wouldn’t have to carry the card, which is larger than his head, every time. Just having it in his backpack would suffice.
